That Save generator video... All nuance lost

I get it, it's meant as overall 'major decisions' generator for those on different consoles, what have you. But it skipped over so much, I was really surprised.

Lily and her dad, for instance. No mention of Lee helping kill him... Or hell, anything at all about Kenny (or Duck) until the penultimate S2 decision, where he's made into a crazed villain that Clem stuck with, not out of loyalty, but survival. (I got the Loyal card btw)

And Jane drawn as the scared helpless victim? Oh gimme a break. She was intentionally edging him on that entire time, manipulating the situation for her own selfish reasons.

And the complete lack of ANF... Rendering that game even more pointless in the series. (Reducing Clem a cameo in her own game series... I'll still never understand that decision).

Just my general thoughts. While I still want to finish the Collection before TFS, I fear time is working against me. And a certain game in ancient Egypt has been rather distracting lately...

  • I'm so glad I never got that attached to Kenny.
In S2 I always played Clem as someone who is stuck with him out of survival and always wanted to get away from him. When he went into rage mode and started to scare Clem I always wanted to shoot him, even in the final part of the game (If you go with him) he does this (At Wellington's gates when Clem says "We're not staying without you" and he goes rage mode for a second again and screams "YES YOU ARE"). He's unstable and I wouldn't want to be near someone like that.
Last two times I played the games at the end of Season 2 I let him kill Jane (Who I can't stand either) then shoot him.
As for ANF choices... well what choices are there that would be important for Clem's development ? They showed the AJ one because it concerned AJ but other than that ?

  • My only real issue with the generator is how they skip over the leaving Kenny or staying with him once you reach Wellington. Its not like Jane where your basically in the same situation besides Jane saying one line a little differently.

And my other issue is how it goes against ANF's story gen. ANF didnt ask about Lily and Carley and things like that, so Im already confused on what I should do. I lost my S1 and S2 saves and had to use the story gen in ANF, but that means my ANF save doesnt know what I did with Lilly and Carly or Doug.

As cool as the cinematic was, I kinda wish Telltale just made a very simple list of all the choices in order, and then you just check which one you did or not, would also make it a little less obvious which choice from past season is gonna matter (aka Lilly probs coming back due to the focus on things involving her)

  • I'm pretty sure the reason they focused on Lily so much is because she's returning in TFS.

I also think there'll be a story builder in the actual game when it comes out.

  • Yes exactly, which is why Im worried about what I should do. Skip my ANF file which doesnt know what I did for Carly/Doug and Lilly, or do a the generator that would know.

  • I am hoping that if Lilly returns, she'll talk to Clem and the player will be able to choose through dialogue what happened to Larry (Lee helped Kenny/Lee tried to revive him), what happened to Ben, and what ended up happening with Kenny (that might be a bit difficult because there are several Kenny paths but......)

Lul. Assassin's Creed Origins. I love it!

  • You mega Kenny fans need to understand that Telltale purposely made Kenny and Jane wrong for what they do in the end of s2 and gave both points to justify them, regardless alone ending is the right choice for obvious reasons

  • Plus now we now that across the three seasons, only SIX choices we made are going to impact the final season at all...I don't know about y'all, but that was pretty disappointing for me. Not saying every choice we made needs to drastically change the story, but a line of dialogue or two to acknowledge we made a certain choice would be nice, like they did with a lot of choices from S1 in S2

  • I've decided I'm playing thru the whole collection. Got a week left, just starting 400 days... I'm sure this is feasible..

Yea true but I think it's more a role-playing thing at this point. How Clem has grown, learned from everyone, etc. Just one more reason ANF completely ruins the flow & fucked up the series... But that's another rant.

But late to it, I know. Platinum'd Syndicate back in March, got Origins a month ago. (And then a week later it was 50% off.. siiiiigh) Bought all dlc and good thing too because Odyssey and it's goddamn 9(?!) pre order versions? Hell naw, I'm good on that insanity for now..

No arguing here. He is unstable and in a perfect world, he'd get better thru therapy, medication, proper time to grieve.. Whatever. But it's zombie time and, well, survival above all else. I've role played Clem with Jane loyalty, gone to Wellington or stayed with Kenny.. Between Steam & ps4 versions of s2, I've tried almost every possibility. I can see both sides, pros/cons, but to me, Kenny will always be the best protector.
