Episode lengths are not only about the content of the story
One of the main request from the fans is that sometimes the episodes are too short, we all want 2 hour episodes to make it feel like a complete experience.
And the episode lengths are not only about the content of the story. You could make season 1 episodes be about 100 minutes, for example, but the fact that we could explore, talk to the characters and make some “missions” that doesn’t necessary advance the story (like the one with Carley in episode 1) made the episodes longer.
With that being said, I really hope Telltale makes 2 hour episode this season, specially since there isn’t only 4 episodes. Many fans (and the general public too) would be really happy with it!

Based on what Telltale has told us I'm fairly certain we will get lots of hub areas and side interactions. I like to explore and see everything possible so I'm hoping to add at least 20-30 minutes to an already decently sized episode
They definitely took that to heart with all the extra achievements and collectibles being added, so I could see youtube playthroughs being very misleading since they LOVE to skip stuff like that.
From what I've seen, I can definitely see the first episode reaching 2 hours.
