tie between s2 clem and javi. it was rly fun finally playing as clem and trying to keep with her character and how lee taught her to act, but javi meant nothing to me. he was some random guy who popped up in the middle of the apocalypse and i knew nothing about him and cared even less so i felt like i had more freedom with him. so i made him psycho. which was super fun.
I'll just say Lee by default.
The others were either:
* not playable for near as long,
* didn't have as many interactivity options,
… more* had very few, underdeveloped, & questionably executed relationship systems,
* had the story not as geared towards both their character & what development they undergo,
* weren't as interesting, enjoyable, and/or fleshed out as characters,
or some combination of those shortcomings.
s4 Clem definitely.
I have to however mention how I disliked s3 Clem. Not only did she have a crush upon abomination called Gabe, but she acted really edgy and rude quite often.
Thankfully s4 Clem is now back to being nice
I would say my favorites are as follows, going from most to least favorite:
Lee, S4 Clem, Javier, S2 Clem.
S2 Clem was my least favorite, as I think they overcompensated a bit much towards making her a hyper-competent badass for the sake of trying to establish player connection/agency. Season 4 Clem is older, old enough to be at the point where her being competent is more realistic - but it's harder to buy it coming from an 11 year old (do I have her Season 2 age right?).
Although some people weren't as fond as A New Frontier for pushing the story away from Clem, I think Javier as a character has some decent potential and charisma.
(If I had to include Michonne, she would be smack dab in the middle inbetween S4 Clem and Javier.)
Huh, it's been a while since I've played through S2, but I thought they did a good job off the bat of showing she wasn't very competent or badass. Crawling away from walkers throwing rocks, the shed walker in E1, her constantly getting the hatchet stuck on the bridge and her panicky demeanor against the horde by the windmill really pushed home how differently she handled herself compared to Lee. Kid was a hot mess lol

I think it's the fact that, starting somewhere in the second half of Episode 2, she suddenly started being put in situations where she was being a little too relied on for excessively important things, was being propped up as being special and more capable than the other characters, and being put in action scenes where she's capable of pulling off fairly competent maneuvers.
Some of those were necessary in order to facilitate gameplay and/or immersion, others were somewhat extraneous displays.

I have to say Clem in Season 4. I enjoyed every second of episode 1. I love the new feel of the game. Feels nice and fresh and Clem is great. It might just be the excitement for the new game talking though. Obviously Lee and Season 2 Clem were amazing. I think Javier & Michonne were especially great for their combat, it was both really satisfying.
Nostalgia dictates that I pick Lee, but if I’m being honest, Season 4 Clementine is shaping up to be my favorite playable character. Her relationship with AJ is the culmination of everything she’s learned and all the hardships she had to endure throughout her journey so far and it’s also cute as fuck.
1) S2 Clementine
2) S1 Lee
3) S4 Clementine
4) Michonne
5) 400 days Russell, I really liked Nate
6) Javier Garcia, didn't like A New Frontier, Kate and David are unbearable to me. In fact in my playthrough Kate became a walker and I didnt even put her down, and I puched David in the face all the time I could. Also I despised Gabriel Garcia and Eleanor.
S4 Clem - Our baby girl is all grown up and what a badass she is! I like that we (as Lee) essentially raised this innocent little girl and taught her all she needs to know to survive the apocolpyse. Now she's this badass young woman passing on those same lessons she was once taught, to another. All our previous decisions are made to feel like they really have shaped her into who she is now. Lee - He's the original! He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. On his way to prison, his life changed dramatically. He was just looking for help after hurting his leg in a crash. He never expected to find a little girl all alone. He didn't have to look after. He could have just turned and limped away but he didn't. Instead he developed this beautiful friendship with her and became a father figure to her. It never felt like a chore looking after her, and was always warm and wholesome. So many feels! S2 Clem - This Clem made sense for season 2. She was lost after loosing Lee, Omid and Christa. She didn't know what to do. Her feelings where all over the place. This is where she really was alone and had to fend for herself. There was no one to help her! She had to overcome obstacles and decide who she could and couldn't trust. This was an important stepping stone in making Clem the woman she is today.
Oooh I want to include the 400 days characters too! I miss them xD
Bonnie - I can't explain why I like her. I just do. Even now after everything she's done, I still like her. (She was nice to my Clem. I wanted to go with her!) Sure her story wasn't the most exciting and was actually the shortest of the 5, but I was rooting for her. There was a funny conversation about lobsters and a nice connection to Shels story. Vince - I didn't expect to like him. A criminal on his way to prison for murder? Sounds too much like Lee. No one replaces Lee! However, after playing as him and getting to know him, I found him rather likable and it was intresting interacting with the other prisoners. Tavia - I actually really liked Tavia. I really bought her nice act as she recruited everyone in the camp. Did not expect to see her working for Carver! Russell - Russell was just a bit too stubborn for my liking. His story was 'eh' but had some enteraining moments and I liked the connection to Wyatts story and little easter egg to S1. Shel - I liked her story but didn't particurly like or dislike her, however I couldn't stand her sister and favoured other people (Stephanie and Boyd) in her group more. Wyatt - I didn't mind his story and I liked the connection to Russell via Nate, but I much prefered Eddie who we sadly did not get to play as. The character himself was just kinda 'eh'. If we had got to play as Eddie he would have easily made the top 3.
Playing Clementine in Season Two was kind of weird at times, because since she's now the playable character, she has to become a much more active character for the story. That meant we - and in this case, she - had to do something for it to work as a game. So if there was a task to do, you could bet it was on Clementine to do it, even though she was only, like, 11 years old. It required a lot of suspension of disbelief, but it turned out pretty ok.
Playing Clementine in Season 4 has been a much better experience, both in terms of narrative and gameplay. So my vote goes to S4.
Clementine had a set personality in S1, and so handing us the reigns to her character just made her feel unnatural and kind act of out of character more often than not.
I mean don't get me wrong I still enjoy playing as her, but like I said it really just doesn't feel right

I loved the first 2 seasons of TWD and I'm loving the last season so far (Please don't make this the true final!).
What isn't to love about a series like that overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds?
Spot on
lee the real G
Wyatt
Nice Clem dansgame edgy all the way

Never really clicked with Javi. Was pretty meh.
S4 Clem is pretty good.
Lee of course its Lee
S4 Clem is a close second
S2 Clem is the third
S3 Clem my last favourite

Definitely the final season Clem. She is so badass.
S1 Lee
Tough choice

Ez.
I dunno.. It's a har--
Lee. S4 Clem is a close second, I really love taking the role of a guardian.
either Lee or Javi...Playing as Clem really just doesn't work.
A take so hot I'm sweating even going near it.
Mind elaborating a bit?
Lee, uncontested.
S4 has the potential to see Clem maybe usurp him.
