Finding a game good by enjoying it VS finding a game good by logical reasoning (what is best)
What classifies as a good game? The amount of enjoyment you've got out of it or the many analyses you do to decide if the game is good or not? ANF is obviously bad by logical reasoning but you can still the enjoy the game.

The amount of enjoyment, definitely
What's best is whichever works for you. For some people, just playing a game is enough, and they have a great time with it. For other people, they have a great time dissecting meanings, analyzing characters and concepts.
For me, it's logical reasoning. I love thinking, theorizing, reading people's theories, etc. Hence why i like TTG's episodic releases; it gives a lot of room for discussing the episodes, also making the game "live" way longer. Probably would be why TWD is my second favorite game? Makes you think a lot, y'know. I love that!
And of course, you can only think a lot, if the game has enough in it for you to think about. I never put much thought in ANF, but i still enjoyed the heck out of it. I mean, it was kinda fun! But it didn't go much further than "kinda fun".
Kind of depends. For example, Resident Evil 7 is my personal favorite game of 2017 but it gets from stupid RE fans who want fixed camera, familiar faces as the protagonists and zombies back (I did play REmake, RE0 and RE4 before RE7), they say it's too much like Outlast/PT it's like they are the first FPS horror games, RE7 isn't even a game where you can't fight back, why do people care so much for a camera perspective in video games? Anyway, it's the only game that I had so much fun with but I haven't played a lot of games last year. Outlast 2 was my most anticipated game, then it turned out to be a garbage running simulator and I loved the first game and DLC. Other than the graphics and atmosphere, there is nothing good about it, all you do is run and collect stuff.
I was never interested in Souls franchise before but I heard a lot of praise from Bloodborne which was the first PS4 exclusive killer. I gave it a shot myself and the fans were right in every way. It's the only game of the modern era that I replayed the most, I even got the platinum. I love it to death, it's probably my favorite game of all time.
Enjoyment and logical reasoning always go hand-in-hand-- through logical reasoning you can understand WHY you enjoy the game, and also why other people do or don't.
Or you can just try not to think about logical reasoning and accept that a game is good because you enjoy playing, even though there is still a logical reason why you enjoy it (even if you don't understand/accept what it is).
