Okay... what nows?

Alright, alright. PAX is over and Telltale is back. I didn't go to it, but I heard it was great. But, I'm getting a bit worried here! I mean, it's September 11th and so far we've heard nothing about TMI episode three! No "I wonder what happens", no screen shots, no NOTHING! All we know is that it's coming out... soonerish.

So, this happens with telltale all the time. They usually deck out the screenshots and release a week before release.

Telltale needs to post more info....

Even if there's no screenshots, a week window would be something.

I hate being left in the dark. I wasn't expecting this when I preordered.

Hopefully they're frantically adding more difficult / less obvious "puzzles" after the ep. 2 feedback! ;)

ya it would be nice to see or hear something. I mean I know that Telltale isn't trying to ignore us or anything, and im sure soon we will be up to our noses in Chp. 3 material. But I agree I don't like being held out on a product I paid up front for.

We're workin hard and things are awesome. Episode 3's gonna be good! Moose.

    How's that?

Well....ya. That works fine for me.

In a world where almost nothing is certain, it's nice to know I can always count on threads bemoaning the lack of release date, screen shots, etc. being spot on time each and every month. It's like British rail.

Noone is complaining about anything. We wanted a status update on chapter 3, and got just that. I am satisfied with the result.

well its certain that we all payed 30 bucks for this episodes and prefinance them. so we are in kind of a way like a publisher. do you think, when a publisher would ask: "how far is the product, we financed?" a gamestudio would dare to say "wait up - we tell you SOON."

    think twice....

I've taken your advice and thought about it exactly twice, and I have come to the conclusion that we are being totally scammed by Telltale. They've abandoned us, absconded with our money, and hightailed it to the Cayman Islands. They are squandering our money on piña coladas and over-tipping cabana boys. They are having golf cart races and making Developers Gone Wild videos that will be available for only $19.99 + S&H via late-night infomercials.

Wake up, people! Call your local Secretary of State, Secretary of Commerce, and your mother (because she thinks you are too thin, and should really settle down with some nice girl).

bether you wouldn't post, then with no arguments. its a little difference between, asking for progress or wanting impossible things. we just want to know how far the thing we financed is. a thing that should more then be allowed.

on the other hand i dont force you to get the point. after youre post i wouldnt even consider you to get it.

I don't think you realize how dangerous over-tipping cabana boys can be. It's a gateway to further frivolous spending. Next thing you know they'll be putting those comfy terrycloth robes on their hotel bills, thinking they will wear them all the time. But they won't! The robes will hang in the closet, until, years later, as they are preparing for a yard sale, they pull those robes out and wonder where they came from! I mean, those robes were like $90 apiece! And nobody really NEEDS a conch shell, right?

I completely agree with this statement. Now that doesn't mean that I hate Telltale or they aren't being "professional". I love the game, and I love the company. I understand it is a challenge to keep to their promise of a monthly release. But I think we do reserve the right to inquire about the next game that we paid for without having everyone attack us and say that we are complaining. We weren't told anything about chapter 3 for quite some time. Jake posted information saying that its coming along and it will be great, which I am totally fine with. I understand if they don't have a release date set in stone, and it is nice to hear feedback about the game. We're not attacking the company, we're just curious about the game.

    THE MOOSE IS A LIE!

I think a release date is reasonable! I'm not asking them to rush it, I just wanna know when it's coming out!

Gah, they're a pro game company! When I preordered this game, I expected release dates, not being left in the dark all month! I think a lot of other people think the same!

If we're not getting a release date, it's most probably because TT don't have a release date themselves yet.
It'll come, don't worry, plenty of times I've wanted to start a thread demanding a release date! But know that TT has been good with us, so I'm not worried in the slightest. It'll come when its good and ready. =]

They already have a release date planned. They're just not releasing it to the public. The whole "the game is still being made" is a load of blehh, I reckon they're done a month in advance, everything else is just bug tests etc. I mean, the people at the play session got to play the finished thing.

Telltale just needs to post release dates for each of their chapters. It would stop all the spam threads. Or do they like the spam topics?

I thought September was the release "date"??

Just because we paid for it and don't know the exact day of it's release doesn't mean we get the right to demand anything.

GIMMIE SCREENSHOTS, GIMMIE VIDEOS, GIMMIE, GIMMIE, GIMMIE!!!

Telltale is doing a great job, and delivering exactly what they promised. So, in the words of another...

Quoted for truth. As long as the episode comes out sometime in the next 17 days, then Telltale has done their job.

They gave us what they could at the moment. I think we need not ask for more. They know that we want the next episode, and soon we will get all the info we need. I think calling them "unprofessional" is below the belt.

Forget Tales! I want to know when the release date for Maniac Mansion 3 - Night of the Hamster is!

Come on Telltale, tell us already! I'll be your best friend.
  • edited September 2009
It's on schedule as long as it comes out by the 30th... You have no right to complain until Oct 1st.

This whole, "WHENS THE RELEASE DATE OMGOMG1111oneoneone" is a bunch of crap, you know it's going to be THIS month and that's all the window you need. Once they have the specific day, they'll tell us.

People are crazy, it's freaking coming and you'll most likely have it in the next two weeks...

I don't think you are reading my posts correctly. Try reading them with a British accent. Wry British accents make everything funnier.

In other words: if you consider me a "jack" and my posts "bullcrap", it's your prerogative to do so -- though it seems a harsh judgment. It is also my prerogative to continue posting. Feel free to ignore me.

No they don't! The playtesters play in-development versions of the game. Playtesting is all about getting feedback and using it! :) When we've got a release date locked down you'll have it, I promise.

Yes, that's definitely what 9/11 is all about. Nothing else important has ever happened on that date. Nine Eleven is the national day of Telltale Telling Us Things, from this moment henceforth. :D

    No offence!:D:D

Man, that american crap rains on my birthday parade every year. Someone allways has to bring it up, as if it's my fault.

Jake, just give us October 10st as a release date for chaprer 3, and if it comes before that, people would be happy as heck. :p
