CMI was the first demo I played on my parents computer and was the first game I ever bought with my own money. I still look at that beautiful box art and remember the feeling I had when I picked it up in a store after wanting it for months. Here in Australia I lived on a farm with my parents, with the closest video game store an hour and a half away. The combination of CMI and Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight made me a PC gamer for life. Before getting the full CMI however, my mum found the first 2 games for sale on a disc in one of those collectors packs lucasarts used to have. I was shocked at the basic graphics but quickly was drawn into the brilliant realised world and look at LeChuck's Revenge as a shining example of how to do a sequel properly. It improved on SMI in every single conceivable way. CMI is still my favourite because it started everything, the art is still beautiful to this day and I think it is perfect from start to finish. EfMI was disappointing mainly because of the quickly outdated 3D graphics and controls. ToMI has been good so far but incredibly easy and the art style of Telltale doesn't really sit perfectly in the MI universe (although it has grown on me a lot more than I thought it would). Hopefully playing through the whole thing in one sitting will give a better chance to evaluate it against the others. I'm just so damn happy that there are MI games being produced.
I am old enough to have played them in order. This is apparently the case for the majority of the voters. I am a little bit surprised that at this time, only 1 person has discovered MI through the tales of MI. Do the tales appeal only to some die hard adventure game fans such as the voters in this thread ?
I would think that with their great games, TTG would attract a new audience to adventure gaming...
Well.. I have been a Lucagames(arts w/e) fan ever since the Origional Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken and thoes types of games.. so MI1 was my first.. Played it on the PC in EGA I think or perhaps on the C64?
not sure.. but was sooooo stoked when Telltale came up with these new ones and Lucas game out with the new MI1SE!!!
I almost pooped myself when I heard about all of these..
I just got the 3rd installment and can not wait to get home to play it!
I am also proud to say, that I played all the MI's in order, over again the last fre years.. I downloaed some of the SCUMM emulators and played the whole slew of them up the the next three by TellTale.. and MI1SE was being played AGAIN when it just came out..
I would also like to say Thanks for TellTale games coming out with this new series, and hope they go chapter 2 sooon also.. and Lucas for allowing Telltale, and ALSO Lucas for coming out with MI1SE!

I've never been too crazy about adventure games without any voice in them but you really lost out on the nostalgia of the first game.
