I overheard people asking if anyone would actually do this. I guess with cheat codes it makes it possible, if a little bit... not as fun? But FAR less obsessive and creepy.

Hats off to you! Now my favorite line might be "Dusky Leaf Monkey."

I like to think of it as another puzzle: If I were Guybrush and actually had to collect 100,000 grubs, how would I do it? Well, I know how he won the spitting contest. By cheating!

Besides, as some have commented actually doing it (with realistic assumptions like doing 100 per day) would take months-years.

(And I guarantee, having to do 7 or 8 grubs in order to get this to work, that my way is more fun than doing all 100,000). The gauntlet is down to find the other messages, however. Especially if they are are in unusual places - I haven't even checked what I consider the likely ones.)

Thanks so much for posting this, Kraentz! Very clever + awesome. :)

And 100,000 points to Telltale for actually programming the shortcut in there!

    I don't think that would really be a "short"cut

Only if you "cheat" like Kraentz did. :)

You know what would be really evil? If one of those lines were the real secret of Monkey Island, and the other was the Ron Gilbert interpretation of the MI2 ending, both hidden in the 334537th and 687754th grub. =/

Awesome. I was wondering about this when I played through that part. Now I'm really curious about what the other two lines are...

Never pay more than 20 grubs for a Cochlea.

After 50.000 DeCava says: "Only 50.000 more to go"
    At 99.900: "We're almost home"

Well played! I would have gotten the first right off the bat, the second would have taken a little poking around.

By the way, do you mind sharing your methods for finding the proper location for the second. The first is easy by trial-and-error (it's the first place I would have looked). The second is *not* the second place I would have looked.

LOL Brilliant....... I thought about the possibility of this scenario when I noticed the grubs "respawned" but there was no way I was going to try it.... I would rather pluck El Pollo Diablo

I was skeptical right up until I saw the YouTube video. Wow, I can't believe that was actually programmed in. Awesome!

Something to do while waiting for E4! (my guess: 50000 or maybe 666?)
    EDIT. Crap, already found.
