I like both chapters, but chapter 2 has a slight advantage for me. More laughs, tougher puzzles, and overall a bit more excitement. But chapter 3 is really good as well. So far the first chapter is the least good for me.
Agreed not sure why exactly but i took a shine to the humour more in chapter 2... also i'm not a Lee Evans fan
It's quite interesting how much opinions differ on this one. I have to say I'm in the 3>1>2 camp. Episode one had the difficult task of kicking things off, and it did a decent job of it. For me the highlight was definately the lab and the lowpoint was probably the jungle maps. It's not a challenging puzzle nor a funny one, and in the end it is mostly just time consuming.
I felt a little let down by chapter 2, I wanted to know more about what was going on with LeChuck and Elaine, but not all that much was revealed. There were some good bits but overall I came away feeling it could have been funnier.
But I think the 3rd episode really got it right. The character reuse was less obvious, the environment was really impressive and the jokes were top notch. Kept me laughing out loud throughout. I agree the puzzles weren't all that hard, but they were at least amusing, which in my opinion is more important.
I am surprised that ep 2 and 3 has fans so divided, it might be hard for Telltale to cater to both camps. In any case I can't wait to see what they come up with for episode 4.
the problem is, when we say something like "i enjoyed them like this: 2>3>1" it makes the middle number sound average and boring, and the last number like it was just awful.
comparing them on a scale like that is misleading.
so really it should be like: 2>3>1>95% of all other games out now>EfMI :P
Great Prologue, Big World (with map), nice atmosphere in the small town, nice finale and nice cliffhanger, longest chapter till now, an unique archenemy (although de cava was unique too and as an enemy superb mc guillicutty just sucked balls for beeing to average).
And what makes it stand out for me, were the jokes with GTs uncontrolled hand. like when he was saying "this will be a snap." and his hand just punches him. hillarious. too sad they striked the hand at chapter 2
the maze as such wasnt that bad. 1 maze in an advanture is okay. the only bad thing was, that u have to travel it 3 times, and that for some reason chapter 2 became a maze-light, which felt a bit recycled.
flotsam was almost that typically MI-Island, u had a town (with a lot people to talk to), but also some wilderness to explore (like on melee). spinner cay didnt had this "town"-feeling and well chapter 3 not even something close to a town.

I kind of agree on this one.
But Chapter 2 still had the cookie joke!
thought chapter 3 was better than chapter 2. Dialogue was great, lots of detail, great to have murray back with the original voice and evil laugh as well. great intermingled cut-scenes. overall i thought the ep was really nicely presented and on a par with the first, if not better. The 'wife-test' puzzle was really good and original, but would have been better without the 'remember' option for people who have hints turned off. esp. since 95% of players are seasoned puzzle adventurers who've played the previous 4 games, DOTT, Indy FOA etc...
just to add... I thought the puzzles in general in ep 3 were really entertaining and made me smile/laugh... using the flailing fish on the bongos... nice touches
Did anyone else think it was weird how in chapter 2 Guybrush disobeys Elaines by taking LeChucks role in her plan and it's not even mentioned by anyone afterwards?
I was thinking when Guybrush decideds to take the glory for himself that this can only backfire, Guybrush will mess it up and get in huge trouble with Elaine. Even though he succeeded I was sure Elaine would be a little bit pissed, especially since she has the pox, but there was no reaction at all to his disobedience (At least as far as I know, there might have been something that I missed). Anyone else think that was odd?
Chapter 3 is the best because of a talking skull named Murray
For me Chapter 2 was a total let down after Chapter 1, it ended so quickly and it wasn't hard or challenging much at all. While playing Chapter 3, i kept holding my breath thinking it was going to end after each major turn point but it didnt. i'm so glad it didnt.

Okay, first off... NO chapter is bad, so I think all the posts saying Chapter "X" is the "worst" are misleading. Should say "the least awesome".
My wife and I just finished Chapter 3, though, and I agree with a lot of people here - it's my favorite so far. Telltale did a truly outstanding job with this episode, just a huge variety of content, interesting puzzles, great jokes, great voice acting...Just remarkable visuals, etc. I can't believe how quickly they put this together...They must be working 18+ hour days.
All in all, I enjoyed that episode more than any other episode of any of their games so far, and I've pretty much played 'em all.
I'll also agree that Chapter 2 has been my least favorite so far. Seemed a little bland, but still Monkeyrific. 8 out of 10.
Chapter 3 is... not my favorite so far. I loved the beginning (before going into the stomach of the Manatee) and the stuff that happened AFTER we got out of there to open sea. But the adventure inside the stomach itself... yeah, nice touches with Morgan being disillusioned and all that, but man, was it boring... even Murray couldn't change that part.
In my opinion, chapter 2 was the worst one until now. When the first episode came out I was really thrilled and liked it a lot (except for the controls, the sparse dialogue and the fact that the landscape looked a bit empty - but all that is another story, let's not discuss that in here). So when episode 2 came along I was really disappointed. I didn't like the Merfolk at all, didn't feel like anything was going on at all (I know... the siege and all... but it didn't feel all that big and stuff...) and was quite a bit disappointed by LeChuck, too - I know he's meant to be clumsy but THAT was a bit too much for my personal opinion...
Then chapter 3 came along, which totally did the trick. Everything was perfect in this one, if you ask me! (If you didn't play chapter 3 yet, don't klick this part:
The tarot card thingy in the beginning was brilliant!! Then the relationship thingy between him and Morgan, diving to the bottom of the sea just as in Monkey Island 2, the hilarious thingy with the manatee relationship, the staring contest, being inside the body of the voodoo lady - and not to forget Murray!
) In my opinion, the chapter had everything the previous one didn't have. So now I'm really really looking forward to the next one! Thanks, TTG, for... sort of... making it up again.
