It's ruined forever!!!

Hey, the spoiler topic is getting too cluttered with arguing. So I'm making this topic for all the people who didn't like Episode 4 or any of the others, to talk about their complaints and why they dislike the game and its story.

I'm going to stay out of this topic myself, but have at it. And please, try not to start fights people. I'm partly saying this as a reminder to myself, because I tend to want to defend my favorite game series. ;)

So have at it, tear into the game like no tomorrow. You ungrateful bashers.

Nice idea. Surely if there are enough complaints that you have to open a new thread for it, there must be a reason. I think you're missing something here.

Although I liked chapter 4 a lot, I think a thread like this is uncalled for. Everyone is entitled to an opinion on a product they paid for without being stowed away and labeled "ungrateful bashers".

It was meant for the sake of humor.

And fantastic humour it was too. I couldn't help letting out a smirk, and I'm one of the very people this thread is aimed at.

Um... okay. I will have at it. WHINE! TROLL! COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN! Flame war! Blah blah blah. I want my money back! Telltale should listen to all my completely stupid and uncalled for complaints! I want episode 5 now! Blah blah blah! Attention craving! Insult, Insult, Insult! Martha, Martha, Martha!

    That good? :)

why are they ungrateful? I personally don't follow this notion that because you're a fan of something that means you have to follow it blindly. I also don't agree with the idea that has developed over the past few years that just because someone release an adventure game, you should immediately praise them for THAT, in order to not 'offend the genre', as if saying bad things about it will completly destroy all adventure games in the future. Whenever i dare to say something bad about some new adventure game, immediately people say 'you should thank them that they're even still making adventure games nowadays." I don't agree. If something is bad in my opinion, it's bad, and trying to ignore that just to not 'offend the genre' isn't helping anyone.

I'd rather be mocked by someone without any wit so I can laugh at them afterwards. ;)

    That's the spirit! :D

But I don't know about "no wit". I thought an obscure reference to a 60's sitcom was pretty witty.

    MARTHA, MARTHA, MARTHA!

Eh, never mind. That IS lame.

Nah, if someone's going to make fun of me, I'd like for them to be smart about it. Then maybe I can see the humor in my own situation. This was just...I dunno. You saying "Ha ha, their opinion's different". I don't see a joke.

You know, Rather Dashing, I used to take your opinions on this board very high, but lately they've been pretty much degrading, mostly forming complaints and such. Also, if you can't spot the playful use of the word "ungrateful", especially with a freaking smiley face, which I actually took as just a passing joke and nothing serious, it tells a bit more about you than about those who made the joke.

I mean, everybody IS entitled to their opinions. I myself wasn't too fond of the "look the other way" puzzle myself in chapter two, seeing as it wasn't really all that obvious. However, you won't see me tearing the series a second bunghole because of that and expect others to do the same.

And, again, the "ungrateful" part was not a lash. It was a joke.

Also, I expected a link to that other site.

My opinion's probably are being expressed a bit too caustically, because I just expected so much more after the excellent and jaw-dropping Episode 3. But the episode did drop off as being really flat to me, and the dramatic moments just felt like they were designed to tell us they didn't matter before the next episode even started. It felt weak, and it sort of made the whole episode feel very bland to me, despite having some of the most excellent puzzles in the season.

Eh, a joke at(mostly) my expense. And I don't like these complaining about complainers threads too much to start with. :)

Hey, woah, when did I say Tales as a whole was a bunghole?

    [also, I loved that puzzle]

Dude I said I was gonna stay out of this but I have to clear this up. That was aimed in general, definitely NOT straight at you. If you still think it was, you are entitled to think that. But it wasn't. :)

It's not dark enough. I demand it to be so dark that you can't even see anything, maybe in the next episode they can be stuck inside a cave with no lanterns or torches. Also, more characters have to die. Like, everyone. That'd be the best Monkey Island game ever imo.

You should have read it like I did. I traveled to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in a submarine with absolutely no lighting...I read the novel by means of a pair of night-vision goggles.

And what's with this "stabbed in the stomach but no blood" business? I demand buckets-- HUGE buckets-- of glorious red blood that gushes from the bodies of LeChuck's victims as they scream in agony. And when the blood spills all over, it has to fly out in an arc in slow motion for grisly effect.

Of course, you wouldn't be able to see the blood, since it's pitch black. But it'd still be there.

You're obviously not hardcore enough to know that what we need to see isn't just BLOOD, but entrails as well.

[...also, um, I''m actually pretty annoyed whenever someone gets stabbed and there's no blood. I mean, seriously? If you don't want to include the blood that comes with a stab wound, don't include a stabbing!]

Right you are. Remember the "That's disgusting" scene at the beginning of Dino Crisis, where the guy's been ripped in two and his blood and guts are spread all over the ground? We need more moments like that. Except you'd actually see the murder happening.

Oh, except you wouldn't. Because it's so dark.

When GB pulled the sword out, the lack of blood made me think GB would find out it was a falsely and cleverly placed sword MEANT to make Morgan look like she was dying and THEN she'll do something...SURPRISING.

Apparently the squelching sound meant it really got pulled out, yet lacks blood. I conclude all the TOMI characters run on pure sugar.

I don't understand that. I see blood all the time in Disney shows...

Blood would probably push Tales into "M" territory, since it's already full of alcohol, sex and violence.

Besides, DeSinge mentioned that there was blood all over the place in his lab, so we just have to pretend...

Just putting anything M-rated as something optional would pull the whole disc into M-rating.

Mentioning/alluding/making-rather-comical-euphemisms-for sex doesn't count. The act itself would have to be present. I mean the closest would prolly be what can only be described as Evil Elaine molesting Guybrush in her intro.

And I'm still not even sure there's anything can be called an 'adult situation' in the game. It's not that the situations aren't 'adult', it's whether we can say that with a straight face when the solution to said situation is 'use monkey with'.
