The voice would definitely make a better buy in my opinion because it's just so funny and proper. Planet ThreepWood and the doll both arnoldnize GT. Having a real live action figure that did the same thing would just be down right funny.

I would want a Guybrush figurine without the voice. It's funny but it doesn't make a collection.

I want a "Trial Of The Century-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y" shirt.
I even recreated that motive in Inkscape with vectors, just in case I ever get around printing that on a shirt.

    Preview:
    attachment.php?attachmentid=912&stc=1&d=1257455143

On the other hand, if TellTale provided an official shirt in their store, I might get that instead, as I could never recreate the original awesomeness with vectors. *hint hint*

You know what, my kid _could_ have that Guybrush figurine - I'd be busy playing with this, uh, adorable doll: http://www.bradford.co.uk/product_info.php/info/p1720_Little-Umi.html/XTCsid/b087948e0d4f43678ec5be1257456299

Lets trade off: we'll take the toy and be happy and joyous and a little bit childlike.. and you can be a stick in the mud like Bugeye. (And look what happened to him...)

I would buy at least two... one for me to keep on my desk to look awesome.... and another for my son to play with.

Absolutely. A Guybrush figurine would be fantastic. Hopefully Telltale will consider it. Here's hoping!

They (Telltale or LucasArts) seriously need to get into contact with Patch Together; I've got the three Wapsi Square figures from Paul Taylor's webcomic Wapsi Square right next to me and they're looking great!

(Of course those were limited runs of 50 or so figures each - dunno if PT would be up to greater production amounts most probably needed by Monkey Island merch... :D)

Eh, I don't really want a Guybrush figurine unless we can get figurines of Guybrush, LeChuck, Elaine, Morgan, De Singe, Murray, Stan, Wally, and Largo.

I can totally see either LeChuck, Largo, or De Singe doing that.

lol that scene brings back memorys when i saw spaceballs when i was really young lol....yeah a firgurine line would be cool, but i think if telltales was going to do that, they'd only make the ones featured in their games....which is kind of a shame, cause i would love to have a zombie lechuck

That's scene's awesome. That and the Spaceballs merchandising Yogurt does.

I like in Curse how you could get a LeChuckie toy from the pirates and then later at the end at the rollercoaster you can show it to Lechuck and
    he burns it

    Hi people,
been thinking about monkey island figures for ages now. I work as a proffesional sculptor both traditionally and digitally for the toy industry and it looks like there appears to be a decent market for some collectables. Ive been a fan of monkey island for years and after reading this thread it's motivated me to finally do something about it! I'm gonna have a crack at a guybrush sculpt over the christmas holiday and post some pics. If there is enough interest telltale / lucas arts may consider production? If anyone from telltale is interested please give me a shout. I also have experience of different methods of rapid prototyping from original 3D game data depending on what size figures people would be interested in and if telltale would like to produce figures from their own data?

after reading your post, i thought brilliant, if you do come up with a prototype, even if telltales or Lucas Arts doesnt make production of it,im sure all us would still buy it, judging by the poll i created,it looks like over a 100 people are interested, hopefully it would be legal to purchase it (considering it being copyrighted, unless you class it as fan made or something, im sure many people around the world make Mickey mouse things and sell them) either way, all the best to you, and good luck, and i cant wait to see the photos :)

Thing is, if lucasarts (copyright's owner) doesn't make production of it, it's totally illegal for him to sell any of his (without a doubt) awesome Guybrush figures.

Thought, You can still make one Guybrush, in order to well, have a unique piece, make us dream about it, and of course, show Telltale what you can do and what it could be. Then they could talk to Lucasarts trying to convince them.

Good luck with it, and be sure a LOT of people would buy it. But first, you have to see if the cost of production are worth it.

What are you thinking about the materials ? Wooden figures ? Plastic ? Latex ? Resin ?
  • edited December 2009
Totally agree about the copyright issue. I think the first step is to create something to show and hopefully convince the right people to manufacture. There seems to be enough interest for this to be do-able, even if its a small scale limited run of 100 pieces or so. I'll probably work the sculpt digitally as this allows for manufacutre at any scale. I'm initially thinking of a 140mm tall statuette rather than poseable action figure. This would be a good size standalone collectors piece to test the water. Fingers crossed if telltale and lucas like what I create, with enough support form these forums we can make this a reality! Im excited now!:D
