Summing it up - Chapter 4 (video)

edited November 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
I guess I wasn't the only one who's mind was blown after EP4, so I felt like summing it up in a short trailer. Hope you enjoy.

Wow, that trailer really captures the suspense from the game! Well done! :)

Brilliant! Very spoilery for people who haven't played it yet (but how dare people not have played it yet?)

Very good, but you should really put a spoiler warning in the video description.

This trailer pretty well demonstrates that the Tales Voodoo Lady voice, while overall pretty good, sounds too "funny" in serious scenes. Or at least, scenes meant to come off as being serious.

I never thought i'd see anything Monkey Island related look that epic.. :)

All that needed was LeChuck's laughter at the very end.

    Wow. Just wow.

All that was needed was the LeChuck laugh at the end and it would of been perfect. :)

Then again: the video says "A shocking secret is about to be revealed" - I consider this warning enough. :D

But seriously, you're right. When reading "trailer" people might think it's sort of a preview - I've just added a spoiler warning.

Well, _something_'s definitively missing at the end but I could not decide on what - so I just left the screen blank not to overload it.

    Thumbs up for the trailer.
You have taste and an eye for detail.

If there was branding at the start/end and there were no frame-rate lapses due to slow motion, I'd think this were Telltale's own pros at work.

The slomo thing was just one problem I was facing. My system is recently a graveyard of codecs...:D

I wish I had the patients to edit video I have some ideas I would like to do but im much too lazy and I do not have the skills

Irishmile, you can always train your skills - I'm sure the creative idea is already in your head. These clips aren't made in one day and also, I get stuck too often. I edit other (private) videos as well which means compressing four hours of raw material into 20 minutes of story telling. That takes you weeks, sometimes months, but the outcome really is "yours", although mabye not perfect to othe eyes.

Like my art teacher always said: "From your brain through your arms, through your fingers, through the brush and onto the paper - that's a long, long way."

I understand you have kids though, that makes things difficult as you need to sit down and spend some focussed time behind the screen without interruption. ;)

You should do motivational speeches. I am now pumped to edit a video for some bizarre reason.

I was actually afraid people would criticise the trailer for being _too_ epic. I mean, after all, it's cartoon characters in this clip, right? But for some reason, cartoon and drama works - thanks to Telltale.

You're not the only one as it seems. Nice to know I can motivate people to go creative. :D
