    No problem! :)

It just occurred to me that now Guybrush has to stay the hell away from root beer, plus he can't see the Head of the Navigator anymore, so he can't navigate the Caverns of Meat anymore either.

^EXACTLY! This is the role reversal I was hoping for... :D

    Ghost Guybrush vs. Human Lechuck.
  • edited December 2009
    But....Lechuck is
    a demon again

is that dog spiffy the dog from the first game?

Wow I love those screenshots! Makes me feel this chapter is as big as the wait/hype deserves. Very different to what I thought.

On the Head of the Navigator thing, yes he can if someone gives it to him without the necklace on. :p

Yeah, I mean that's what I was hoping for. I can settle for Ghost Guybrush vs. Demon LeChuck.

Oh well in that case, yeah it's an excited change of pace. For once in the MI universe we'd be rooting for the ghost side!

Hey, did anyone else notice that in the concept art of
    Guybrush's grave
you can see a diamond of some sort in the air with some sort of energy coming from it? Elaine's wedding ring?

    edited December 2009
    It's in the
    treasure hunting and sword master
areas too. If you look at the full size images in the VIP section it looks more like a lantern of some sort that's flying around. It's way too large to be the diamond. Seeing how it seems to fly around, maybe it somehow transports
    Guybrush's ghost
    between the different islands?

Then again, there's a box in the very same shape of that thing on the table in the
thieve's den, which looks suspiciously like King Andre's hideout, which is where he got the diamond in the first place.

Concepts look amazing. How awesome would it be if Telltale's graphics engine could render the 3D environment in such a way that they look like these concepts?

The concept art makes me wish the whole season had taken place in this underworld. It's got that perfect cartoonishly-demonic look to it :)

is that dog spiffy the dog from the first game?

I was thinking the same thing..., and it scares me.

Why? Spiffy seemed to imply he knew all about LeChuck & Elaine. He also hinted that he knew something about Monkey Island.

Because, in my book, Spiffy would be the perfect tool for Telltale to reveal the secret.

And that could very well mean, no more Monkey Island games.

    *somber look*

Well as RotPG is now being referred to as the 'Season Finale' I think we can rest assured there will be more Monkey Island in the future.

New blog post with a new trailer (that I can't actually watch thanks the firewall at work).
  • edited December 2009
In the new trailer, it sounds like Earl Boen's voice in the opening scenes............

Anyone else agree or is this wishful thinking?

It IS Earl Boen. We can tell. :D

Plus we're hoping this means it's him on the DVD version of episode 1.

Oh man I love Ghostbrush. The grim reaper guy's pretty cool, too.

Edit: Haha, I just noticed that Ghostbrush has his left hand back. Nice touch!

I can't find a quote at the moment, but Telltale confirmed early on that they weren't going to reveal the Secret. So no need to fret.

Also, I'm dying to hear of how Telltale managed to snag Earl Boen after not getting him at first. This must be told some day (yes, even if it doesn't turn out to be a particularly interesting story :p).

That sounds like a fine story for the Bay Area Sound guys to tell during the audio commentaries for that cutscene on the DVD. Hint, hint.

Anyway, if I'm not mistaken Earl Boen is retired and living on an island in Hawaii now, and somebody flew out there and later directed him over the phone or something for his voice work in TSOMI:SE. I'm assuming that may have been too costly for Telltale for just those three lines he speaks in LOTSN, but worthwhile once the script for TTAEOGT and ROTPG was complete.

OMFG...usually I tend to expect too much when looking forward to something but THESE screens just blow my mind...

    That ship's simply fantastic.

Im sure some of you have noticed how
the places in the concepts are equal to the original three trials (treasure hunting, thives den, swordmaster)

So do you think we'll get a "I'm Guybrush Threepwood, and I wanna be a Mighty
    Ghost
    Pirate(TM)!"

    I can only assume that
    Ghost
    Pirates must go through
    trials
    as well. :p

I'm pretty sure Murray is to return. Although I personally do not really care, I was surprised at how brief his appearance in chapter 3 was. When Guybrush commented the skull candle in chapter 4 with "I wonder what happened to Murray.." I was sure he would reappear.

    ...MURRAY!?
Murray: Bwahahaha, Foolish mere ghostly Guybrush, I, Murray, have once again thwarted your plans of hope by getting in your way once again with my awe inspiring evil demonic powers!!
Guybrush:...Uh huh, how did you even get down here?
Murray: Using my mystic powers of Darkness and Hatred and, ...ok ok, I don't have a clue, after you knocked me into the waters I sank to the bottom and fell into some chest and remained there since, until a few hours ago, this thing was transported and, well, here I am, ....but I totally wanted this to happen so bow down before my brilliant dark powers of wishful thinking!

pages 2 and 3 of the slide show are really interesting, number 3 especially. There is some kind of diamond shaped doorway kind of thing in the screenshot. A portal of some kind?

I really like the concept art this time. The demon pirate ship is my new desktop background!

    Same here !

It gets pretty ugly when covered all over by useless icons, though...

Throw out all those useless icons, then. I have like four icons on my desktop.
