Charaters who have died in ToMI *1-4 spoilers*

edited December 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
Okay, so, judging from the trailer and the ending of ToMI 4, it really seems like we're dealing with the afterlife this episode. So, let's compile a list of all characters who have died who may potentially show up in the next episode.

I have:
Morgan
Marquis de Singe
Pyrite Parrot (I know, I know, I'm sorry!)
Nipperkin (Or at least that's what it seemed like from the conversation with D'Oro at the creepy hut)

I think there are more but I'm kind of in a hurry so I'll leave it up to you to fill in the blanks. Also, there are ones from previous MI games, but, again, in a hurry. So . . . have at it! Only one day left to complete the list! :D

Also, I'm not sure if I should count undead . . . How do Murray and LeChuck factor in here? Your theories, please.

    What about Noogie?

    And Santino

I have heard rumor that Noogie is dead, but I can not confirm it.

    McGillicutty IS dead, though.

Guess you could count Santino, but he was already dead when Guybrush arrived.

If you want to count previous games:
    Ozzie Mandrill (crushed)
Pegnose Pete (Ozzie told him to take a long walk off a short pier after zapping him with the Ultimate Insult)
Guybrush! (Leave underwater for more than ten minutes)

Unknown what happened to Largo LaGrande. May have been blown up, but seeing as Wally survived that...

Would be interesting if we ran into that "Guybrush Q. Threepwood" we've been hearing so much about. XD

Okay, so it seems likely that ghosts will be able to see each other. But what about the general undead? Will LeChuck and Murray still be able to see Ghostie Guybrush? What do you think? (I keep hoping Murray will pop up again)

I think it's possible we'll see Murray in the next chapter... in fact, it sort of seemed like they were setting it up. I noticed this while replaying before chapter 5....

Remember that little crab that moved the chest (the one with the artifact buried in it) out to sea in chapter 2?

We'll he pops up again when Murray ends up back in the treasure chest at the end of chapter 3... hmmm...

I think you fellas might be joining two separate worlds, as I see it. The screen caps we've seen of Guybrush seem to be taken at a location I'll call "the underworld" (i.e. where the dead are), and then there's the undead (i.e. LeChuck, Murray) in the "land of the living".

I don't think we'll see a dead Guybrush interact with any of the "undead" characters. It'll be when Guyrush is "resurrected" (meaning he lives again) that he interacts with the undead LeChuck (and hopefully Murray).

How about the statements, made by Guybrush regarding the VooDoo Lady Doll- "Im surprised the voodoo lady agreed to this!"
Then Stan, "She only let me take the case if I defend LeChuck, too! Funny."

Then Guybrush says "Funny, like a peg leg."

Why is the voodoo lady demanding Stan defend LeChuck?

    ----

And then there was another statement by Stan, also regarding the doll- "She seemed to think it important to get her likeness into the homes of all the pirates in the caribbean."
Guybrush says "Yeah, I just bet she did."

Could it be that the voodoo lady wants her likeness in their homes because she knows the pox will soon by spread across the Caribbean, and her likeness would somehow help ward off the pox?

It's going to be some big "greater Voodoo Plan". Don't think too much about that.

Pox is taken care of. Sucked up, and given back to LeChuck. If her likeness being spread across the Caribbean has a payoff, which I assume it will, it'll feed into some undead Guybrush/Voodoo puzzle, something similar in story function to the locket.

I have to admit you're rather clever, Rather Dashing ;)

It's sad when the story starts getting predictable.. first, they kill off many characters so that they can have some people inhabiting the land of the dead, and now this figurine-locket likeness...

Now, I could be completely wrong about the figurines. I wouldn't be surprised too much if I was completely off-base. And even if I'm right, we don't know how similar it will be, and it really needs to be judged on its merits when we've seen the execution of the idea even if I am right about what the idea is.

Which I may very easily not be, by the way. :)

This probably won't happen at all, but we could see Murray as he was before he turned into a skeleton (let alone a skull). But the reason I'm doubting this is because he is still treated like an "alive" character (his skull talks).

How about Bob? He's another one that technically is a ghost, but can interact with the living. Don't know. Maybe.

Guybrush Q. Threepwood could be the guy we met in the swamp in Escape :)

Maybe Q. was the Threepwood from the first 2 games, while U. is the Threepwood we've been playing with since Curse.

Anybody else wondered if Morgan is REALLY dead? I know we saw her on the floor, I know that De Singe could have thrown her in the pulverising tube of doom and death, but don't you think there will be some sort of comeback? She can't just be dead?! Her body disappeared!

(No I have not read any spoilers, reviews, previews or anything, so don't kill me if I'm too ignorant!!)

I reckon Guybrush will bump into her at the Crossroads, seeing as they're both dead.

Not dead, and the monkeys have taken her to revive her! The sentient little beasties run a great hospital in their underground city. :D
