Problem With Episode 5 Icon [Spoilersausagefest]

Isn't it a total and utter spoiler of the series' arc? Don't get me wrong, I think it looks awesome. But "EVIL ZOMBIE LECHUCK ICON" + Rise of the Pirate God = Entire Season Spoiled? I have some friends who haven't played the game yet but plan on buying it, and the icon would ruin it for them. :/

LeChuck returning to his demonic state at some point could have been seen coming a mile away. Perhaps even necessary.

    1. Lechuck in Ep 1. is evil and a zombie.
    2. Every episode has a character featured in the icon
    3. Lechuck is the only MAIN character (besides the voodoo lady) without an icon

IF you haven't played the games you can infer that LeChuck is evil and a zombie for the entire series.

The ominous way the icon looks plus the whole "Pirate God Thing" hurts the plot. Over and over Guybrush mistrusted LeChuck and seemed like an ass. I think the icon just makes the story look silly, especially considering the whole Voodoo Lady thing. There was a high level of uncertainty. Just because you know it now doesn't mean you always would.

Why would LeChuck's icon show up as a demonic zombie after he became a human?

I dunno, I personally thought LeChuck was gonna turn evil again even if he didn't want to be. It's just a part of Monkey Island.

Yeah, I agree that it seemed like something bad was going to happen, but I feel the icon gives it away as to WHAT happened, or a general sense when added to the title. At the very least, the story tries to make it uncertain.

Aah, pshaw, don't mind thyselves for such a thing. It's just another Darth Vader syndrome. People will still wanna know HOW he turned into a zombie again.

Actually I think I read somewhere
that the Pirate God is a seperate character.

That could have been balogna though.

Too bad the execution of the HOW story for Darth Vader was so... inconsistent quality-wise. But I digress...

    Yeah, the Nintendo Power article.

"As the title of the game reveals, Chapter 5 revolves the appearance and battle against the biggest baddie in the Monkey Island universe- the so-called Pirate God."

I guess technically it still could be LeChuck, but we'd have to wait and see.

The whole "so-called" part is very suspect though.

It'd be extremely ironic if LeChuck and Guybrush had to team up to beat this so-called baddie.

The icon of the 5th chapter is in 3d like the first one?

it closes the circle of life!!!

I'm pretty sure the execution of the HOW story for Darth Vader was actually very consistent. Consistently bad, but certainly consistent.

Fixed - there's people that have set the forum to show more than 10 (20? What's the default again?) posts at a time, you know? ;)

Better - links to the post itself within the thread itself regardless of how many posts per page a person may be viewing.

I was trying to be as generous as possible. I actually thought some of it worked fairly well, but then there was the story of Darth Plagus and the infamous "NOOOOOOOO!" and .... I'm looking for a positive example, hold on... well, the delivery of the line "You were the chosen one!" was spot-on. It's just too bad that "I have the high ground" came next.
