I think I read an interview somewhere with Dom where he said that he went with a slightly older voice for TOMI and a slightly younger one for SMI:SE, just to acknowledge the time elapsed between his first and last adventures, but not so much to make him seem obviously older.

Voice Actors paying attention to detail ftw!

Dom is doing Guybrush the honor of being his voice, he does it so well (that I forget that he is an animated character) no one could never have nailed it the way he has.

And I totally adore his work on chapter 4 and 5, so in depth and emotional.

I know what you mean.... that voice IS Guybrush... its really wild seeing Dom talk in interviews because its seems strange..

Or it's just because 9 - 12 years passed since Curse / Escape and Dom's just lost the youthful touch in his voice. :D

I seriously love Dom's voice acting too. I would go straight for that man. Or at least for that man's voice. Not quite sure how that would work, but I'd burn that bridge when I came to it.

Do they still use internets as a form of currency? I thought for sure they switched to Euro-bits...

I haven't read the full thread, but I read most of the first page and I just wanted to make a point that some of you are being a bit oblivious to reality with your Dom fanboydom:
    ProgZmax, 01 Jun 2009, <http://www.bigbluecup.com/yabb/index.php?topic=37927.msg498422#msg498422>.

As long as I can turn off the voices to avoid Dominic Armato's incredibly annoying nasalspeak I'll give these a try. I'd rather play them with just the text, anyway. [(emphasis mine)]

Personally I think Dominic does a great job at Guybrush's voice. Except SoMI:SE. To be completely, utterly, and brutally honest, I personally feel that Dom failed to deliver in SoMI:SE. His inflection (to me at least) was off-key resulting in the delivery of many punchlines being missed.

Beyond SoMI:SE Dom's done a great job. Just wanted to show you all that, believe it or not, not everyone feels the same about his voice acting role as Guybrush Threepwood.

Welcome aboard the U.S.S. Reality, this is Captain Killjoy speaking. Please keep your arms and minds inside the ride at all times, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

Wait. What was the point of that post?

People having different opinions? How can I ever cope...?

"The Giant Tope that could never cope."

Sounds like a children's story I'd read to my kids! :D

Well if you read the first page of the thread you'd get that impression.

Sounds like more of a case of poor directing than poor acting.

Agreed. Either poor directing or poor editing.
Dom is awesome in every other MI game. I think SMI:SE was just too rushed for development in places.

    We love you, Dom!

    We love you, Earl!

Should have a Thread like this, just for Earl as well.

He does just as great a job as Dom is doing, there would be no Guybrush if there where no LeChuck :p

And I got surprised where I have heard his voice before, after I did about 1 or 2 runs in Magtheridon's Lair in WoW :p
And just found out he voices Señor Senior, Sr. in Kim Possible, I have to watch that show in English instead of Danish now :D

I think Alison Ewing doesn't get enough love. She's brilliant as the Voodoo Lady and Bosun Krebbs, and I think I might even prefer her to Leilani Jones.

I think we should lavish enormous amounts of love on the entire TOMI cast. They rocked, plain and simple.

I can't seem to play the SMI: SE with the voices turned on. It just doesn't feel right. I think Dom did a great job in the CMI and subsequent games, but having anyone voice the characters in the first game just sounds odd.

When I play the first two MI games, I read the text, and I hear different voices in my head for all the characters, and always have. So hearing any other voice say those lines, just throws me off and it makes the speech sound fake.

Yeah, the voices in SMI:SE is a mess, but not because of the voice actors. There's a very serious problem with the TIMING, and as someone else mentioned that's primarily from the voice direction and the editing.

Dom is awesome in everything I've heard him in, including SMI:SE. Unfortunately I've never heard him in anything but MI!!

He used to post here! Then when he felt threatened and afraid for his life, he stopped...

Dom is THE quintessential Monkey Island voice actor. He's part of what I consider to be the "Monkey Island Trinity" with Earl Boen and Alexandra Boyd, but he is by far the most important voice actor to bring back!

Did they also reprise their roles in MI1:SE and MI2:SE?

MI1:SE they did. We don't know the voice cast for the MI2:SE, but according to some leaked footage Dom Armato is definitely back. I don't know about Earl Boen or Alexandra Boyd. I'd guess yes, since the website says that "voice overs from the original Monkey Island cast" will be included...

    Both are confirmed already.
