Dom's voice acting
Really, really great! In the finale he had the drama nailed, and in the rest of the series he was brilliant too. Never in my life before have I played a game where one character's voice actor never slips up and always gets their lines perfect. I'm pretty sure that Dom is the only person who I completely separate from his character in any game because the acting is so convincing - in most games a character will say something in a certain way that feels kind of unnatural or they'll say a line in a way it wasn't intended to be said and it'll remind me that there's an actor playing the character, but with Guybrush it's just Guybrush being Guybrush. No actor, just Guybrush. And that's truly admirable. Thanks, Mr. Armato. Quite splendid of you. I just had to get that out there
Also I get 10 internets for every person who opens this thread thinking "Dom's voice acting" is going to lead on to something negative. 20 internets if it has that effect on Dom himself ^_^

Not played Half-Life 2 and its episodes, or StarCraft? Voice actors for the major characters in those two, with the likes of Merle Dandridge and Robert Clotworthy are spot on, make no mistakes and are brilliant at conveying the feelings of the character completely convincingly. But yes, Armato = great.
Indeed. There should be a special rule for this thread. Spamming "Dom is awesome!" infinitely should be tolerated.
The possibility of someone NOT liking Dom's voice work never even crossed my mind.
What possibility?
Exactly.
Alongside Earl Boen they made a magnificently fearsome team, a voice acting duo so good that they became inseperable (I remember all the wtf posts about LeChucks voice in Episode 1).
Hell, whenever I was playing some ToMI she would always come by and ask "How's Guybrush doing?" As if he's a legit existing person and not some character in a video game. Only really good voice acting (and character development, but that also falls into voice category in a way) could do such a move.
Dominic, if you're reading this, that is some seriously above and beyond work!!
We love you Dom!
If it weren't for the fact that the graphics are so cartoonish, i would think that I was watching a movie instead of playing a game, or I might start trying to talk to Guybrush Threepwood, Mitey Pirate.
So you're telling us you intentionally tortured a real person, beloved by all this forum? After he had died? And thought his wife had turned on him?
...
S&M doesn't actually stand for "Sam and Max" does it?
Also his vocals were way more trembling than in CoMI, singing "Monkey in My Pocket".
Only that the sense of drama and suffering more than compensated those two "flaws". Dom's better than ever, and that's something! One of my favorite voice actors ever, if not the very favorite!
I've met some people on the net who do. They don't consider the third and fourth game canon. Not me, though. Dominic Armato rules!
Though, I've never seen him doing voice work anywhere other than MI. Does anyone know any?
I agree wholeheartedly, Dominic really put some feeling into his whole performance, especially in this last chapter. It felt like I was taking all those hits with him.
Dom is the best!!
We love you, Dom!
Not until this year to be honest.
BTW, there even was some nice reference to Dom's COMI intro monologue in the Ep5 of TOMI.
The second one is the narrator in the first Dungeon Keeper game. Holy cow what a voice. Clean, crisp, musky, creepy, scary and exciting at the same time. I loved the intermissions between the levels, when he explained what was to come in the next land.
Irritating? He was great, though throwaway in T3.
Agreed! And would like to add Simon Templeman as Kain from the Legacy of Kain series .
Your voice changes as you age. It's not a question of forgetting the voice.

But, Dom is older too, and his age and Guybrush's are about the same. Dom was 21 for CMI, and he's 33 now.
I think I read an interview somewhere with Dom where he said that he went with a slightly older voice for TOMI and a slightly younger one for SMI:SE, just to acknowledge the time elapsed between his first and last adventures, but not so much to make him seem obviously older.
