I just bought Sam and Max Season 1, and I am having the same problem with activation as everyone else. I sent a support email with my order number in it.
Finally got the links for download and I downloaded all 6 episodes but when trying to play game it says it is not a valid serial number. Hope that everything works out soon.

I'm getting the same problem — SERVER_ERROR_LICENSE_NOT_FOUND.
"This serial number does not seem to be valid. Did you mistype it? Please check your serial number and try again." Despite doing a copy and paste on the serial number.
As did most of the other people having the same problem, I bought Season 1 as part of the $4.95 deal. I have serial numbers (they're the same for each of the five episodes, in case that's a problem). I've activated other games before, and this is the first problem with activation.
Unlike what everyone is saying, though, I've had an error in the billing. Telltale actually billed me absolutely nothing. ($4.95 - $25.00 discount.) I doubt that the two problems are related, but if they are, Telltale needs to know. If they aren't, Telltale deserves to know anyway. (In case someone is thinking "they just haven't billed you yet," it's about three hours since I ordered the season now, and my invoice says $0.00 as well.)
Ok, in the next few minutes I would like Lersveen, Black_Hand, namibo, Wezxo, Phinor, Gilead, Clord, and Tomtomtomtom to check their account. Let me know if the new serials I give you work without the 'SERVER_ERROR_LICENSE_NOT_FOUND' error. I'm trying a little experiment and if it works, it will be the new fix for all of the rest of you. Cross your fingers!
Forgot to mention to all that are receiving new serials, I'll need you to clear out all your login data from the game launcher/wrapper. To do that, hit ctrl shift + followed by ctrl shift -
No serial number for me also. The confirmation e-mail was blank where the serial number should have been and my "purchased games" page is not showing it either.
Ok, this is turning into a bigger issue that is beyond me. I've grabbed a few of the ttg boys on other projects and they are working on it. We hope to have you playing the games soon.

Game says logging you in
and I see an error in the login tab:
Your logged in Great! But.,.. we don;t see this game in your account.
So I Then go to the Serial Number Unlock Tab
enter the serial and get unlock unsuccessful error code SERVER_LICENSE_NOT_FOUND.
