Bugeye's Tattoo

I'm looking for tattoo ideas for a while and I loved the idea of Bugeye's tattoo squid tattoo starting somewhere and wrapping all around his arms, legs, etc. I like the simple lines of it. I was wondering if there was some concept art of the tattoo itself I can use as a starting point. I don't think I'd go all the way and make it wrap around my whole body but I think it'd be cool to get it on my back and have it wrap around my shoulders or maybe get the "head" on a knee or thigh or something and have it wrap around the leg.

I'm afraid there hasn't been any concept art of it released. You could try e-mailing and bugging Ryan Jones (Telltale concept artist) for some that he may have lying around :D.

I'll see what I can do.

I found Ryan Jones's blog thing but I haven't found an e-mail address anywhere I could contact him at.

You could talk to him here
But he takes a while to answer back... maybe he doesn't log in too often here.
here is his profile page on these boards

Well, when ToMI was first announced, he was on the forums loads because all of his concept art was being put up on display in the Private Pirates Club. Hopefully the same thing will happen now that Sam & Max has been released.

    Speaking of bugeye...

Why is your avatar so big?
  • edited March 2010
Because he broke the forums. Now we're all going to die in a black hole.
  • edited March 2010
It's better now. I'd been flooding the forums with my huge avatar, and it started to get a bit annoying. I do have a screenie of it in a post though.
  • edited March 2010
Aww, no black hole. Oh well, I suppose I'd rather not see this place collapse into a singularity. I like it here.

i'm not sure if you wanna put this on your body, but my mom wasn't too keen about my first tattoo either. so, post a pic if you do and we'll all toast our mothers.

Was that just drawn up then, or is that the actual design that you used when constructing Bugeye?

The amount of dots and lines seems to be correct.

But what about the dots next to the eyes? ;)

Ha, I guess it's an official piece of ToMI concept art! *Right-click*, *Save Image As...*

Dito on that one. Even if it wasn't official it's a damn good counterfeit.

Haha that's real. (Notice it was posted by a Telltale employee ... in this case it was the person who did Bugeye's texture. Who is Jason. I mean anonymous guy.)

    TTG people are nice.
  • edited March 2010
Nice doesn't begin to cover it. Telltale employees are made of pure awesome. It's probably a job requirement or something.
  • edited March 2010
If that's true, then I should be made an honorary Telltale employee. Because I'm awesome. And totally humble about it too.
  • edited March 2010
Naw, I'd say you're 93% awesome at best. You have to be pure awesome.

I already have 3 tattoos. My mother knows about them. I'm actually having her draw me another right now. :D

I'm more humble. Way more humble!

Pff, if he's only 93% awesome, then you've gotta be like 84% at best.

Do I lose points because of my username?
  • edited March 2010
Nope, you lose points because you smell funny.
  • edited March 2010
    That cuts me very deeply.
  • edited March 2010
If it makes you feel any better, I'm something like 60% awesome on a good day.
  • edited March 2010
Yeah right, I'm not 24% above you. The GuruGuru.
  • edited March 2010
Okay, maybe 65% if I've done something REALLY awesome that day.

In any case, let me add some perspective here. Who did Telltale just hire? Now those two are 100% pure awesome.

In fact, by setting Majus and Suro as the 100% benchmark, I think I'm gonna have to re-evaluate you and Chyron down to like 70% at best.
  • edited March 2010
That sounds fair, seeing as how we don't produce any fanart. Anyone who creates a piece of Monkey Island fanart automatically gets 75% or above.

I'm assuming there is no head to the squid seeing as how it's covered by bugeyes shirt. I was thinking of having the head on my back and the arms wrap around my shoulders.
  • edited March 2010
Hey! How did I lose 23% awesome?
  • edited March 2010
Well, once I came to the conclusion that Majus and Suro are the baseline for 100% awesome, I then had to conclude that you had to be more than 7% less awesome than Majus.
  • edited March 2010
Now those two are 100% pure awesome.
    Heretic!

    They are 110% awesome.
That this is impossible doesn't bother them, they are that awsome. ;)
  • edited March 2010
Well that's fantastic, the thread got hijacked.

Get one like Meathook's and make it talk...
  • edited March 2010
Whoa, a talking octopus tattoo! That would officially be the coolest tattoo in history.
  • edited March 2010
Why would anyone want an octupus tattoo? Take my two cents and don't mangle your body with silly stuff or you'd proably regret it later in life.
  • edited March 2010
Yeah, I know I'm not gonna get any tattoos. I don't trust my skin not to stay nice, smooth and tight for my whole life.
  • edited March 2010
This is sort of what I'm getting at.
