Judging by monkeymovies' post, they're probably still recording some dialogue (unless that was an old Twitter post?)

Last year they said SOMI SE would be released during summer, and I think it was available on the Xbox Live Marketplace around July 15th. I hope this year's release is no later than that.

    Yay! About time!

*edit* Well, that was a bit pointless. They skipped almost all the dialogue, and the cutscenes.

That video seems crappy at first, but it shows off a few cool things:

    - Guybrush's coat is, indeed, 3D (or rather, it's been animated from a 3D model)
    - Nice water animations
    - The music sounds awesome
    - Some pretty smooth animations (along with one or two not-as-smooth ones, but who knows how far along this is)
    - Cool looking inventory system
    - Largo's voice doesn't sound too cartoony
    - Guybrush's voice is brilliant as ever
    - We get to see a little bit more of woodtick

maybe now ppl will leak the unskiped version
  • edited April 2010
Still need to work a lot on lipsync atleast...

But yeah, why all the skippin'?
  • edited April 2010
Cool video, even though it skips a lot...the video seems a little glitchy...

OMG!!! Just found out!!! The cave had metal girders again!!!!!! Looks like LucasArts are listening to our reactions closely this time.

Only disappointing part, Dom is not voicing Largo. :(

EDIT: After watching a few more times, I can say that this looks TONS better than the first special edition. The attention to detail in this one is just amazing, especially since they weren't present in the classic version, such as the birds in the air, the blades of grass blowing, the moths around the lamps, etc. The extra animation is an awesome touch too, and the new control system seems easier to use. And Dom is still here, of course! Even though the narrator is still there too, but he's toned down a bit from MI1. One thing I will nitpick at though, is that woodtick doesn't appear to have iMuse. That's a shame, but the music is still awesome regardless, and iMuse did seem to be present when Guybrush left the beach, maybe they only managed to half replicate the iMuse system by timing the pieces correctly, but not being able to create multiple openings and endings for the tracks. I always knew there would be compromise though.

    That’s cool, LucasArts.

I'm not sure that its a lypsync problem, it looks like the whole video is out of synch with the audio there (you can hear, at the end, the scrolling in the options menu before the options menu appears for example).

But, awesome. The music is great. The voices (when you can hear them) seem great and a big thumbs up for the return of the metal pipes in the cave at the start. I wish I could just play this game now.

That video is a little glitchy, but otherwise nice! Nice music, nice smooth animations, nice fixed up backgrounds, nice interface, etc. Very nice altogether!!

I wonder if the sync problems are from the douche nozzle game-player who kept on skipping over everything.... not to mention just uploading video to youtube does that by itself sometimes... I would not view this as definitive proof that there are audio problems.

That video managed to make me excited for the game and pissed off at the same time... who on earth figured that would be a good first video for people to see?

The user uploading seems to be someone "new" he's been leaking Xbox Live stuff for a while, he leaked the entire Sonic the Hedgehog 4 gameplay under a different name.

Maybe he's a tester or something like that? Something to do with the industry?

The dude who posted said that he skipped 'cause the game sucks'. Just coz he doesn't like it, doesn't mean other people won't. he may not like it just because its point and click, anyways. I know a lot a of people who are like that. Well, at least we know that the game is probably finished, so come on Lucasarts, release it soon.

I love that there is more detail like the docks and the building on the shore by the campfire... something that they forgot to add in the original.

This is what I imagine Hell must be like. We get to see a preview of the most awesome game in existence and someone keeps skipping all the dialogue :(

He's suppose to be from PartnerNET, the testing division set up with Microsoft but this guy just seems to be leaking whatever he gets his hands on, not sure if he's actually to do with PartnerNET, or if he just has a DEV Xbox 360 and downloading the games, which stills means someone from PartnerNET is leaking the content!

Lucasarts would be wise to release an official trailer or gameplay video because that was not the most flattering video... and you know it WILL be making the rounds on all the sites, best to give the fans a real video to make this vid NOT news.

And the uploader (who claims he was the one who played it) says that the game sucks. He clearly has no appreciation for quality. What could they possibly have done to make a game that good bad?

I just noticed something. Where's the difficulty selection screen?

    Voices can be turned off?

After reading those dialogs for years in my head, with my own imaginary timing and emphasis, hearing them for the first seems really odd.

I have no reason to complain. This guy gave us new content. That is awesome!

    Thanks for the high-res-pictures Laserschwert!

Made this little comparision animation. I really like the fact that they changed this.

The guy who posted that video is an ass! I can just TELL he was prejudiced and bored from the start. Idiot. Stupid stupid idiot.
  • edited April 2010
Although I liked a lot in that video, I hope, sincerely hope, that Largo's voice was just temporary, because that wasn't Largo at all.

SMI:SE had a speech volume slider separate from music and sound effects. I'm sure MI2:SE will have one too.

Video pissed me off, stopped watching pretty quickly. I'll wait for one that doesn't fill me with rage just to watch it. They skipped by awesome music and dialog that is a major feature of this release.
  • edited April 2010
Anyone notice how the forground is seperated from the background (sorta 2.5-D)? You can see it when Guybrush is walking off the bridge and the submerged rowboat pans at a different rate than the rest of the background. This just keeps looking better and better.

[edit: just saw that this is the same as in the original game. I guess it's just always been that cool]
  • edited April 2010
In spite of all the obnoxious skipping, that video did a lot to get me excited for the game. It's looking like it's going to be as big of an improvement over the first SE as MI2 was for the first MI!

The music sounds great, and the animation and voice acting (from what we heard) looks much smoother and sounds more natural. They've already nailed my biggest complaints from the first SE!

Not fond of Largo's voice, to be honest. But that won't stop me from buying the game. It was just not remotely what I imagined it to be. He sounded like he had an IQ of about 65.
