DID you buy the ToMI DVD yet? Which one?

Just running a poll to see how many of who pre-ordered for which ToMI DVD (the physical media, not just the download )...

    Shouldn't there be a poll?

I bought the Deluxe edition. It was actually somewhat of a tough call on my part. It was more expensive than the Sam and Max case file, and I already qualified for the slipcover, but it had a cloth map. And I've been a HUGE sucker for video game maps for a long time now. it's a love that comes with the territory of loving western RPGs.

I was still editing the poll =\

Got the Deluxe edition. I just couldn't say no to Monkey Island merchandise, and since I was going to get the postage free if I got it with Sam and Max, I thought, why not?

    Ah.

The DVD coming out now contains the Mac version, by the way. Nobody's waiting for it to come out on Mac.

I'm still waiting for my question to be answered by email, but I plan on getting the deluxe version. I just can't say no to monkey island stuff. I'm hoping I'll be able to place my order tomorrow! Or at least sometime this week.

I actually bought the Standard edition. None of the merchandise for the Deluxe edition really enticed me.

I appreciate them actually putting up more merchandise though.

I'm a Deluxe girl, i want all the Deluxe stuff. And the tarotcards. And the buttons. And....
    Where's my money????
  • edited March 2010
I'm sorry, I just bought the standard edition because postage ended up at $36 alone. So I'd have to pay close to $51 for the Deluxe Edition. I'm still paying $17 for the postage of the standard edition.

"Yes, I bought the Standard edition because postage cost too much" should've been an option. I didn't feel comfortable to vote "I don't need that other junk", when I actually would've loved having it. But I still gave it my vote.

I've put my order in for the Deluxe edition (I pre-ordered the game so I was getting the Purcell slipcover anyway, but I still wanted the other stuff). At the same time I ordered a bunch of other TOMI merch. Thank goodness for free shipping!

I ordered the Deluxe, well because :winslow: Said, if I don't get the map I don't get the dance.

That IS the most important thing. The multiple Winslow in my signature would abandon me if I forfeited the map to point to on those long nights at sea, on my way to the Isle of Ewe...

I got it with The Devil's Playhouse so I qualified for free shipping :p (Actually, the price came to US$49.90, don't tell anyone!)

I bought the standard... But I wish I had the deluxe I tried emailing support to try to tag on the deluxe edition to my order... paying the difference obviously... but I have not gotten a response in the last couple days :(

I think that was a glitch and they've fixed it, the postage should be lower now. You should check by ordering the deluxe edition (without finalising it).
If it's indeed lower and you do want to buy the deluxe edition, you can write to telltale to cancel your previous order and submit a new one.

    Got the Deluxe edition.

When goodies and shipping battle for your money, I prefer spending it on goodies ;).

Deluxe, so I could get the mug with free shipping. Yay
  • edited March 2010
grabbed deluxe since i was getting S&M S03 and I wanted free shipping.
  • edited March 2010
I wonder how it is possible that the deluxe edition shipping costs $15 and the standard DVD shipping costs $16.75. I`m probably still not going to get the deluxe edition, I think I`m gonna wait for the standard DVD shipping price to drop, cuz I think that shipping just a DVD has to be cheaper than shipping all that deluxe edition stuff.
  • edited March 2010
I went with the standard. The deluxe has some cool bonuses, but nothing that I really, really want.
  • edited March 2010
I bought the Standard edition. Though the stuff that comes with the Deluxe version is very cool, it isn't worth 23 euros to me (Either with shipping costs or more merchandise or the new Sam & Max).

Unfortunately, that doesn't work, 'cause if I choose the deluxe edition, I must pay full price, and because that's $50 it gives me free delivery. Anyone else from Norway in here that ordered the deluxe edition?
  • edited March 2010
I ordered the standard edition. I decided I wanted other stuff, like the full set of tarot cards and the poster print, more than the Deluxe bonuses.

Actually, your Tarot set will always be one card short, because the Deluxe edition has a card that the Tarot set does not.

    :D
  • edited March 2010
Oh man, this is going to gnaw at you forever. Whenever you'll look at your deck, you will not see the amazing artwork of the cards you have, but only feel the lack of that one card that would've made it complete. Any joy you could've had from the set will be drained by the lingering sense of missing something. I feel for you man...

That's why I ordered both the voodoo cards and the deluxe edition :)

I ordered the deluxe edition. Honestly, the map put me over the edge. Ooh, and the button...and the coin...and the coaster...and the card.

Oh, who am I kidding? I wanted everything, greedy as I am! :D
  • edited March 2010
Just the standard. The extra stuff didn't really appeal to me.
  • edited March 2010
Since the games are already on my harddrive I can't yet bring myself to spend $18 shipping just for a plastic case (even though it would be coming with the Purcell slipcover). I'll get it eventually, but I just can't justify the expense at the moment.
  • edited March 2010
I thought the shipping to most countries was lowered from $18 to $16.75 but for now I still think its a bit too much. I thought they said something like that theyre going to fix the expensive shipping costs issue, but nothing has happened yet.

I fail to get my Strong Bad DVD for free until that I will not preorder ToMI

Deluxe edition for me. It has so much more eagle.

Bonnie helped me out and reset my order so I could get the Deluxe edition.... I was happy and did the Guybrush dance.

    ....

That was a weird place for a pretty obscure Futurama reference. I mean, maybe if it was called the luxury edition, but still.

Eh, close enough for me. There's always a place for an obscure Futurama reference. And I watched that episode yesterday.

...that, and I was curious to see if anyone would get the reference. You Win!

Deluxe Edition -- for Mac (it's both Win/Mac, so one of the options doesn't make sense)
  • edited March 2010
I bought the Deluxe. Total came to $30.70 USD. That's $14.95 for the Deluxe stuff (cuz I'm a pre-orderer) plus shipping. It's ok. TTG is awesome enough.

I couldn't select any of the poll options, because I am going to buy it, but I'm waiting for my Paypal money transfer to go through so I can get $50 worth of merch to grab the free shipping. Should be tomorrow, or the next day! :D

So far, I've chosen to get Sam & Max Season 2 DVD, among the free ToMI DVD. I'm having trouble deciding one more item to buy to get it to $50. I've narrowed it down to either:
    - Sam & Max Surfin' the Highway comics
    - ToMI mug
    - ToMI shirt
    - Strongbad DVD

The Tales mug and shirt are just normal things with a logo on them. I generally don't think "stuff with logos on them" makes impressive merchandise.

The DVD contains mostly stuff from the site, and the DVD can be bought from the Homestar Runner site directly with their benefits and freebies.

The Surfin' the Highway comics are simply amazing. The book is beautiful, bound well, and the paper quality is good. It's obvious that a lot of love, care, and reverence came into the creation of this book. It's beautiful.

I was definitely leaning toward buying the book overall, hence it being on the top of the list, but I think you've convinced me to spend my money on this alleged masterpiece!
