If Dom came I would do anything in my power to get a plane ticket to be there, and it should be held after I get my DVD, so he has something to put his autograph on :D

On your chest and then wash it never EVER again, like a real pirate?
  • edited May 2010
Hmm, guess I am not as pirate as I want to be, I never really show my chest to strangers, I mean I really don't want to keep digging it up :p

And they could steal my my booty :D

It's Dom. Surely that could convince you.

As well as the fact you know he will use that money to upgrade his "cannon"...

Yes that is what I meant, damn my bad spelling, but it's fixed now :p

First and only Monkey Island game I will own physically, but I think when I buy Secret and Revenge I will put the files on CD's for more that I can say I own :)

Not trying to keep a dead thread alive... Ok, maybe I am, but what are you going to do, sue me? :p

I just want to say that you guys are still great, I send out friend invites to all who posted here, and all (except 1) has accepted! Even the "cool" people here have accepted!

I have never felt so accepted before, it moves my heart *sob*

All my questions are being answered and my posts gets replied, and that is beyond what has ever happened to me before.

This really boosts my confidence, and that is really important to me, as I suffer from low-self esteem and Social Phobia :)

There's nothing wrong with reviving your own thread if it's still relevant and interesting. There's some alright conversation going here, and it's not as though there's loads happening in the MI part of the forum at the moment anyway.

Yes, this forum is quite welcoming. I've been able to say quite a few strange, obscure and brainless things without be ripped on by anyone, which is always nice as it allows you to throw your ideas and opinions out there because you have the knowledge that nobody will really care if what you say isn't... great. It's good to hear that you're enjoying it here. It's always nice to have another person roaming the forums; another set of ideas. It always makes it a little more interesting :).

I really like it here. I feel appreciated for who I am (or, as the case may be, disliked for who I am :D) and I feel free to speak my mind. Even though I love most people here I don't stress up about complaining or disagreeing like I might in other places. I feel free to disagree with people and I know we won't become nemeses as a result.
It's really nice. It's kind of the opposite of a family reunion :p

I really like I can post what ever I like, and not feeling scared to do so.
I always used to feel scared of posting on other forums, because people was so critical all the time. I always felt I got judged, because I am bad at formulating my posts so it sounds understandable and "adult". But here I can just be free, and let all my worries go, because I know that nothing will happen. Heck I can even be childish and no one cares, and it feels great :D

I have even beat my own record in Thread posts, 3 in total now!
More than I have ever done :p
  • edited May 2010
Seems like you have found the right forum for you then. :) That's pretty cool.

I think we all have certain forums we like and a lot we don't. FSM knows there are a lot of hostile, badly moderated forums out there on the tubes. These are among the great ones when it comes to people behaving properly towards eachother. I attribute that to the temperament of adventure gamers. :D

    Some people sleep ;).

I love reading this thread, because I feel the exact same way. It's really different here than other forums. I actually like keeping up with all the discussions! :)
I attribute that to the temperament of adventure gamers. :D

I think so too. Or there is something about Monkey Island and other similar adventure games that just instills a certain sense of humour (while growing up) that makes people much more pleasant to discuss topics with.

Yay, I did it! 100 posts!

Took me some time, but I actually did it.
Sorry if this seems pointless, but I am really happy even if it's only a small achievement :D

I am now the farthest I have ever been on a forum before, now I feel really special and no one can take that feeling away from me.

So thank you guys for chatting to me to get my post count to the 100 mark that I was aiming for, I couldn't have done it without you, all you guys are great :D

And I think this post deserves something special, something that is important to me, and the reason why I am here.

    So here it is :guybrush:

Just found this thread. I think its wonderful that there are still new Monkey Island fans out there.

My neighbor and my brother used to be big fans but stopped caring after it looked like there wouldn't be another game, so I guess I don't really know any fans...other than on these forums, of course!

And I am happy to be a fan, and to have found this place.
Not easy to be fan of something and no one just don't want to listen, then it's nice to come here and let of some steam :)

ok now youve hit 100 post, whats your next goal? hmmm i wonder what would you do if telltales system crashs and it resets the post back to 0 *evil grin* :P, better take a snapshot of this lol

im such a fan of Monkey Island, i wanted to do a short film about pirates, my all time favourite movie (get ready to laugh) is The Goonies...but hey i grew up on it, watched it every christmas when i was a kid..and that had a pirate theme.

but yesturday when i was at Pinewood studios, they said there putting a ship or a boat in the 007 studio, so i thought pirates of the carribean 4 might be filming, and got me thinking about doing a short film with a pirate theme and of course a low budget, my last short film i acted in had a comic theme.... check it out and tell me what you think, maybe leave a comment :P

That was actually really really good, I liked it. Reminded me alot of the Spiderman style, which you clearly was going for. Sorry if that is not a good comment, I am not good at that sort of thing, but I think saying it was good, covers it :) (Was that really you?)

Wanna do something on youtube my self, have this great idea for a music video with ToMI and a song from one of my favorite bands, I have the whole thing planned in my head, but I am not good with my creative skills :p

My favorite Pirate movie is Cutthroat Island, it's got great action and a woman Pirate as the "hero", what more could one ask for, but I had it on VHS I need to buy it on DVD :D
  • edited May 2010
Veronican, you should really try the other Monkey Island games, I have them all (with Portuguese subtitles, if you're interested)

And I might go for it, I just need to record from the game, and get to know movie maker to put it together.
But knowing me it will just stay as an idea for a very long time :p

That sounds like a lot of fun! You should definitely do it. You could probably even create something mostly with the help of a creative friend or two. Especially if you have your own video camera/microphone or could borrow one. There are some pretty simple software programs that you could use to edit your film. Now that video cameras are pretty much all digital, it's a lot easier to edit them on the computer. No more reels left on the cutting room floor, so to speak. It would take some work, but I bet if you put your mind to it, you can definitely put it together! Just take your time, and don't give up! :)

I'm shooting a film this summer (for personal fun) because my friends are very good sports, and humour me. I'm also trying to get this music video together for some old tunes (turn of the century classics) that have only poor quality recordings left, if any. So I'll be learning how to work video editing software this summer too. :p I'm looking forward to the challenge!

That pink dragon is a complete crybaby though. He loses a bit of mail and goes to pieces! I doubt he could handle the stress of a trans-Atlantic flight.
  • edited May 2010
i didnt expect him to fly on a aeroplane, i was think of riding on the back like the girl in the avatar, or like the flying dog in "the never ending story" lol

and Jenny funny enough i was watching Forest Gump yesturday, dont worry i wont say anything, youve probably heard it all before lol

Yep, I was in first or second grade when that movie came out and it seemed EVERYONE in my class went to see it.

Even carrying you on his back across the ocean would probably lead to disaster. The picture isn't very clear, but this should give you an idea of his track record with even short flights and landings:

(notice the scorched trees and boat)

yikes i see that, and which game is that from?

Yes, among others. It was the perfect fuel for teasing at that age.

It's the second game in the Kyrandia trilogy. Here's a pretty good description/review of it.

I am getting all the games, just waiting for LR to come out this summer that's another 2 on the MI list :)

Not sure what I am going to do with 3 and 4, I think I will wait and see if there is going to come retouched versions out so they can actually run on Windows 7 without extra programs :p

    @On the Movie subject :p

Well when I hear this specific song, (not sure I want to say the name of it, my idea might get stolen :p).
I can just see these moments from the game happening, that fits the exact moment of the tune, and I think fits the text really well.

But I need to find a movie recorder, I am thinking Fraps will do the trick and record in-game when I play it through again, and hope I have some Movie Maker skills to make it look good, I mean I do have a youtube account to post it to :)

I don't know very much about that specific program, but I think your idea is really good. I look forward to seeing it when it is completed!

It's my second favorite game after Monkey Island. I've replayed it many times. Some of the puzzles are a little aggravating the first time through, but I think it was the best of the series and the characters are unique and very like-able.
