Wondering how many of you guys here have heard about Shahname: the Persian Book of kings ... I'm especially talking to King's Quest fans. They would love it.
I wanted to write a great introduction for our national epic story in the King's Quest forums but didn't know how to introduce it to you guys ... although I'm Iranian :(

Go ahead and post your thoughts in this thread if you think it has some bearing on the KQ universe! Anakin Skywalker specifically asked about influences on KQ's story and tone there. I can see how if might be kind of daunting to summarise though :)

^ Thanks Puzllebox! I don't know what to write about it thought I'm not an expert on our national story, I've just began reading it. I know several stories from it, the most famous ones, but haven't read the actual Shahnameh till now. I'm just in the beginning, and by actual shahnameh I mean the ...well ...actual one, since there are lot's of simplified version of it you know, it's a 1000 year old book and not everyone can read it ... and unfortunately, not much Iranians read it either. I'm in the minority.
Writing: "Hey guys! have you checked out the Shahnameh?" will definitely not work ... damn this perfectionism I have. :( I can't do anything unless I'm sure it'll be perfect ...

Many users have found it to be a good idea to change their icons to Blinky™ from the smash hit short film Blinky™. It's a pretty good idea.

Don't listen to her. She's not helping.

I did notice that. Just didn't know what it was. It looks pretty creepy. I am torn between wanting to see it and wanting to be able to sleep at any point during the next week.

I'll probably end up giving in and watching it at some ungodly hour.

It's not *that* scary, If you've been comfortable with the Dark-humour in Portal, you won't have any problems with it for sleeping.

The perfect time to watch something really creepy. Or something really graphic. That way, you don't have very long to wait until morning.

It's true! I once did a playthrough of Penumbra and got done at 9. I then proceeded to not sleep. I had a test the next day. Feels bad, man.

    Oh good. I loved Portal.

Funnily enough, the one movie that has had the largest effect on my sleeping habits was actually a comedy movie called "Murder by Death". I did not find it nearly as funny as advertised. Then again, I was about seven at the time and didn't really understand the concept of pitch black humor.

 I don't know what anyone else does, but I always have a quick glance at the users Avatar to see who's posting. It's getting really difficult to do that now as everyone's gone Blinky mad! Well, Rather Dashing, Comrade Pants and Milkman have anyway.

On one of these threads where Rather Dashing and Comrade Pants were talking one after the other I thought Comrade Pants was having an argument with himself. Then I read the names...

Oh, we're just keeping it temporarily, right guys? *looks worried at the member's of Blinky club*
Besides each one of us has an avatar slightly different than others ... yeah, maybe we should put some sort of mark on them to make ourselves recognisable...

They should make a black slapstick film. Srsly.

Not an unlikely assumption. It's what I do with my forever alone time. Great fun! I can never seem to win, though. :(

I'm now going to spend the rest of the day trying to imagine how that would work.

Also: Curses! My curiosity must be satisfied! I can't wait until early tomorrow morning to watch this creepy robot. Off I go...

Crimewave by the Coen Brothers and Sam Raimi is the closest thing I can think of.

Given the discussion of avatars, and realizing I've inhabited this board a bit, I've chosen my old standby.

With so many similar icons (Who the hell is Blinky anyways?) I'm having a lot of trouble following who is saying what. I keep thinking people are double or triple posting.

I can't remember believing in Santa. I know I did at some point, but I stopped believing earlier than I can remember. Apparently, I went to my parents and said "there is no Santa, right? You're the one giving us presents, right?" and they said I was right. Or something, I'm not sure I remember even the story properly.
I know it was before my mom was pregnant with my brother, because I can remember that (and you'd think realising Santa doesn't exist would be more memorable than yet another brother. No offense to my brothers, but it seems to me it would seem less important to a kid), so I was less than four, but to tell you the exact age... no clue.

Catching up on this thread is pretty hard. On the other hand, when I do try and read it more regularly, I end up finding it boring. When I read it only once or twice a day, it seems there are a few interesting things to read if you filter through the uninteresting things.

Couldn't agree more. If you don't monitor the thread every few minutes, a completely different topic comes up and you end up having to sort through two or more pages of opinions centred around that certain subject.

And on a side note.... Santa is real. I refuse to be told otherwise.

No, he isn't. I made sure of that when he didn't get me my damn copy of the greatest movie of all time, Alien Spacemen From Outer Space.

How is it that you (and others) can't tell the difference between these?

    image.php?u=12314&dateline=1300912409&type=thumbimage.php?u=2357&dateline=1301019341&type=thumbimage.php?u=15221&dateline=1301070927&type=thumbimage.php?u=52539&dateline=1301020763&type=thumbimage.php?u=32066&dateline=1301088844&type=thumb

Each one has a different approach ...
Tought we may have to add something to them to make them significant.
Rather dashing can make up "rather Dashing" to look lke blinky, I can do it to Milkman, etc ...
