    (originally posted on Yahoo Answers)
(I had good intentions , now I'm not sure if I should continue my "universe beliefs")

When we punish the cruel, are we really correcting behaviors? Or, are we simply limiting and denying their potential to grow ,and sacrificing the better part of our selves that makes us all human?Don't we all desire, want to have something to give? Can't most of us get along, at least in some way, communicate, relate to one another? Don't we all feel the same pain, agony, have the same wants, needs?

Where is the compassion if we don't give humanity a second chance and are quick to only remove those we disagree with from what makes us all human? People are slated for different opinions, hushed away into the corners . We all have a child like ignorance, this species, we all have room to grow, that's what makes us all human, that's what makes us special, alive.

We have such a sensitive social climate anymore, I've noticed it every where. So many people are unfair to one another and don't make an effort to allow others to express their selves freely so that we can learn a little more about what is to be human, to be flawed, or to be different, what it means to learn from mistakes , what it means to be able to teach others from your own mistakes. We're so sensitive some times that we have nothing else left to pass on to humanity. We silence the ignorant and we don't grow.

Is it fair that in a place like this, we silence all those who come here misinformed , looking for answers in their own way? Have we given up so soon on every one, any one who is a little misguided? Do we not believe in some sort of bond, relationship to our fellow persons?

I've never felt better in my life than when I have had humbling experiences in my life, I've never appreciated my own humanity, celebrated greater than when I felt humble. Why turn our backs on those who are reaching out?

I'm not talking about those who have taken action against us, hurt our children, taken our fathers or mothers to their graves. I'm simply talking about people, and their opinions, all those who can, will , and do reflect our very own humanity. Those people we deny who are a part of us as much as they are a part of their selves when looked at from your eyes. Wouldn't we all be better off to understand that part of humanity, to make sense of it? So that person could express their selves and surprise the hell out of both of us? The person seeking to label that person, read that person, and the person him/ herself?

I've spent so long trying to find good intentions within myself , within humanity and I've reflected that on myself. And some times my views are tainted by what some of you seem to see, the reflections of humanity you hold, your cruelty, your judge mental calls. It becomes a part of us, as much as it's a part of yourself. Why not show some compassion? Why not show some intelligence, value, worth? We are human, are you worthy, valuable to humanity, do you see some worth in humanity? Then why not share, why not start today trying to make a difference, even if it seems small?

I finally put together a list of fears that I have:
    Sharp objects
    Spiders
    Thunder and Lightning
Lonliness (I'll be that person with a thousand cats)
    Failing
    Tight spaces
Vomiting (it's gross and it feels horrible)
    Public speaking
    People I have not met
Being touched (Except for handshakes, Fine with that)
    Weapons
Being unable to respond when family needs me
    Fear itself
    Bees
    Snakes
    News media
    Non-existence (Basically me being existential)
    Furbys
    Rain, no joke.
    and what comes after Death

I fear being singled out (goes hand in hand with public speaking), failure, being in pain for an extended period, being handicapped, disappointing others.

I do not fear death, nor what comes after it.

You and I have quite a number of fears in common. I'll just add death in general, looking straight up at the sky (not joking), trains, planes, automobiles, driving, agoraphobia, being hated, being disliked, being incomplete, hell, and never finishing my projects.

Nobody here seems to be hiring people who are only fluent in two languages, especially if the one that isn't French is English. So I'm trying to become fluent in Spanish now.
I figure it will be the most useful third language for when I live in the US.

On of my best friends from high school went to a translation school, she needed to take three languages (on top of French) and picked English, German and Italian, which were the three she took in high school (she also took Latin; I took English, Spanish, Italian and briefly German and Latin).
Just thinking she was smarter than me (especially since that school doesn't accept students older than 25 so I couldn't get into it anymore even if I wanted).

Also building up my portfolio by doing unpaid translations.

On that subjects, I'm looking into translating free domain stuff. I'd rather it were stuff that hasn't been translated before, or poorly so. So if you have heard of something French (preferably a short story at this point) that you'd want to read in English, or if you know this really cool English thing that's free domain and hasn't been translated into French, feel free to drop me a line and let me know. Currently I pretty much have nothing that isn't a webcomic, and I want a diverse portfolio to show I can translate things other than graphic novels.
This, by the way, applies to non fiction such as articles and stuff too, although I can see less of a pool of free domain ones I guess.

I am posting this from my newly completed computer. So...now that I have a super fast computer, what should I play. I'm open to suggestions as long as the game is fun and looks REALLY pretty. Shallow, I know, but I want to see how my machine works with more graphically intense games.

Metro 2033 has a reputation for being a resource hog, albeit not for being really pretty(it's considered to just be really poorly optimized). The Witcher 2 is an excellent test as well, with all settings turned to their highest level and all options turned on, my machine crawls to about 10-13 frames per second.

Getting a soldier tied to the front of a plane, jumping out and surfing on it is great fun.
With PC mods, Im sure this will be better.

While I would like to play Witcher 2 at some point, I think I'll wait for it to go down in price a little bit first. Right now I'm also looking for games that I missed because they wouldn't run on my old computers.

Other games with obscenely fairly high requirements:

    -GTA IV
    -Far Cry 2
    -Assassin's Creed
    -The Force Unleashed games
    -Batman: Arkham Asylum

In honesty though, nothing has really topped Crysis. The economic climate right now and the emphasis on consoles running 7 year-old hardware essentially means that, unless you're firing up Crysis, The Witcher 2, or maybe Total War: Shogun 2, your'e really not going to be testing your rig. I can think of a few upcoming games that might be demanding, or maybe think up a few games released in the past couple years that may not have played on your machine before, but really your best bets are Crysis, Far Cry 2, Shogun 2, maybe GTA IV for all the wrong reasons.

I had two games in mind when I made my machine, Civilization V and Fallout: New Vegas(two games that did not disappoint). I can run them on max settings in my rig though, so your significantly BETTER computer wouldn't really be tested. As I said, there really aren't many people making games for machines of your computer's caliber right now, even when the game is PC-centric or even PC exclusive.

    This ugly flight sim actually has a high CPU recommendation(Intel® Core™ 2 Quad 2.6 GHz+ or Intel® Core™ i5/i7 2.6 GHz+), I guess? I'm totally running out of advice at this point.

Got Rytmik Rock edition on my 3DS today.

I'm finding it loads of fun to play around with it and try to make my own music on it.
(Creating and using my own samples is a nice challenge methinks)

Working on a tune at the moment. May see if I can share it when its done. :D

EDIT: Here's my progress so far.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?n79vnrodephikwa

(Had to record it with my webcam and boost the volume a bit, so sorry that the quality is so poor.
Once I get my cables sorted, I'll be able to record directly from the headphone port so it will be nicer.
    (No export function you see!)

I think it would fit nicely in an old-school First Person shooter like Doom or Blood.

May have to save up and get the regular version too, as you can do a suprising amount with this software.
(And its pretty cheap too. £7 to make music quickly and easily on the go!)

So it turns out my USB is having more problems AGAIN.
First off it turns out I cannot just add things onto the drive, I have to plug them in right when the laptop turns on, not before, not after, right then.
But then that is all good for about 5 minutes, when it fails again:(
I tried a system restore, but that didnt work. I honestly think this laptop needs repaired.

That isn't entirely true. While many are, there are others who profess a certain level of acceptance, or even a disdain for the idea:
    Carl Sagan wrote:
I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking. The world is so exquisite with so much love and moral depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there's little good evidence. Far better it seems to me, in our vulnerability, is to look death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides.
I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures, or has a will of the kind that we experience in ourselves. Neither can I nor would I want to conceive of an individual that survives his physical death; let feeble souls, from fear or absurd egoism, cherish such thoughts. I am satisfied with the mystery of the eternity of life and with the awareness and a glimpse of the marvelous structure of the existing world, together with the devoted striving to comprehend a portion, be it ever so tiny, of the Reason that manifests itself in nature.
I don't believe in an afterlife, so I don't have to spend my whole life fearing hell, or fearing heaven even more. For whatever the tortures of hell, I think the boredom of heaven would be even worse.
I have never seen the slightest scientific proof of the religious theories of heaven and hell, of future life for individuals, or of a personal God.
The only thing that makes life endurable in this world is human love, and yet, according to Christianity, that is the very thing that we are not to have in the other world. We are to be so taken up with Jesus and angels, that we shall care nothing about our brothers and sisters that have been damned. We shall be so carried away with the music of the harp that we shall not even hear the wail of father and mother. Such a religion is a disgrace to human nature.

I've also heard beautiful quotes about death from other major atheistic figures. There is one YouTube video that I can't find quoted or even on YouTube right now, wherein James Randi speaks about the death of his friend and his own personal death, and what he feels about these things.

I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details." Einstein's famous epithet on the "uncertainty principle" was "God does not play dice" - and to him this was a real statement about a God in whom he believed. A famous saying of his was "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

It's funny how a few , one quote can privilege some one's views so strongly of some one...

Anyways, I could discredit all your quotes with other quotes or other countless examples of scientist who had different views of "God". It's ignorant to think everyone must view God the same way, that's where the first mistake has come into play here. Men of science, philosophy don't all view God in the same way.

No one has ever truly proved what may happen, especially if they don't discount God.

For example...Edison , beliefs without proof, and as a scientist he was structured not to disbelief but PROOF
    Edison wrote:

There's a big difference between beliefs and structured ideas that take place in the form of intellectual functions, and such things that mirror those functions as reputations, or science.
