That's what was said in the video, yes. "Hey man, that's not cool". If you have nothing to contribute to the conversation other than directly quoting the thing, I don't see why you bother. =P

I keep seeing the word "Brownies". Maybe it's because I like chocolate, maybe it's because I grew up with the original series which really no guys watched. I have never seen this new series and am completely in awe of how strong of a male audience it actually has. I have never seen it, so I can't judge, if you like it, good for you....but no man I've ever met followed the original series.

Let me break this down for you. Difference between original series and new series: QUALITY.

True, but I wasn't talking about VISUAL quality.

Sometimes I wish I could just live inside of a computer.
    It would just be fantastic.

If there ever was a queue to be digitized, I would be first in line.

Knowing me though, I'd probably get detected as a virus and be deleted! XD

(I would have had a good run though! :D)

I have seen Tron. Both of them.

And I don't care, its still cool!
  • edited January 2012
Actually, I'd prefer it to be more like ReBoot than Tron...

I'm obsessively checking my 3DS every time I go out to see if I have more SpotPass visitors. NEED MOAR MII HATS DAMMIT.

Reboot is more of the software inside computers.

Tron was almost inferring that the electrical signals themselves were sentient, and the computer chips and wiring were their homes.

The computer hardware makes up the city in ReBoot, the people aren't just the software, they're also filetypes and functions. It's all a bit fuzzy, especially when the internet is involved. Whatever, I love it anyway.

I think there's something wrong with your timeline. You only left yourself a month to build an entire city. I know how much you procrastinate, but this is a bit much, don't you think?

I tried watching it one time because of all of the Internet dudes that can't seem to get enough of it and let me assure you, this grown male My Little Pony following thing is as weird as you assume it is. I can say that it did seem like it was better written then some kid shows (not intentionally dumbed down, etc,) but it's still pretty clearly a little girl's show aimed at little girls. It's not like it's full of secret adult references or complex storylines. I certainly don't get it.

Pretty much. As far as little shows for girls go, it's better in that the characters actually have conflicts and differentiation beyond what clothes they wear, but it's a particularly shallow children's cartoon with a garish visual style to it.

Truly the best counter to MLP is Ren and Stimpy.

That feeling is called boredom. There are two solutions: You can either try to occupy your time with something or just embrace it and continue life being unimportant and ignored.

    *sigh* Nerd alert... :(

The City of Mainframe itself is based on the hard drive itself. The more data on the hard drive, the more developed the city is. You can see this clearly in the episode where Enzo visits that one system that is a Star Trek/Justice League/Avengers parody, as well as in the "desert" world they visit prior to going to the web. Each sector of the city is developed based around the filestypes that live there. Filetypes are essentially jobs for the data. The Core acts like the OS or the BIOS depending on how you look at things. Their police force is the anti-virus software at its most basic level (i.e. what comes with Windows). Bob is a stronger anti-virus software (i.e. Norton, Webroot, etc.) from the outside.

The hardware component is made up more or less based on the level of technology the city has available to them. When Enzo was traveled to that one dying system, it was implied that the computer was obsolete and couldn't keep up with the current demands of the technology, which is why such an advance virus was able to cripple it alone. Hardware crashes and compatibility errors are also seen as catastrophic events, as illustrated when Twin City became Lost Angles. (Twin City itself was a separate hardrive partition within the same system.) It is implied that the Super Computer is the most advance system in hardware simply based on the fact that it is the central hub of the internet for the universe.

And as far as how they handled the idea of the internet goes? They did a very nice job illustrating how it functions within that universe, especially things like packet degrading and buffering data.

Currently watching the first Scooby-Doo live-action film. And I'm still enjoying it.

I hope they can get Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. to guest voice in Mystery Incorporated. Linda Cardellini is pretty hot with glasses by the way.
