I noticed that. For a while, I considered writing up a satire of it and using it as my own signature, but my laziness at not defining a signature at all overruled it. Probably a good thing.

Actually, last I heard, it's a reboot of Reboot. Same concept, but they are upgrading the technology considerably so that it looks like Tron and less like Toy Story. :( Which means no Mike the TV...

Oh. It's the same one that's been circling the drain since 2008. Okay, I thought there was something new.
  • edited January 2012
Ha ha, yes, I think the chances of this reboot of ReBoot ever materializing are on a par with there being a second season of Tales of Monkey Island. Which is depressing now that I think of it, because I really, really want more Tales. The ReBoot movie on the the other hand... yeah, after what happened with the webcomic that came out of the revival campaign (could have been awesome, turned out awful) I'd rather it stayed in limbo. I wanted to know what happened after Season 4 dammit!

Had a goodish day, saw the man about a flat and I'm going to move into it next week. Now just to sort out the utilities and stuff like that for next Thursday as well. To be honest I'm really looking forward to the move, just not the actual moving part.

Just tried to say something in Swedish... I've spoken English and French, I have German/Ukrainian ancestry... I was wayyyyy out of my league. Felt like playing that Mad Gab game with all the short, vowel heavy unfamiliar words. Waiting to see if my two Swedish friends have anything to say about it.

The German Federal President MUST resign. The private loan/ press censure scandal should have been way enough for him to face the consequences, but noooo.

This is such a disgrace. Right now our biggest tabloid just pulls his strings and awaits his next move. The fact alone that he willfully maneuvered himself into the situation that these bastards CAN pull his strings whenever they like and can be sure of a sales-boosting reaction is already reason enough that he absolutely MUST go now.

So... my mother has handed down to me her old iPhone 3GS 16gb.

Already moved some music over and picked up a couple of games for it.
(Sword and Sorcery, 1-bit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride)

Anyone with one of these know and good and lengthy games for it?
(Or arcadey, something with a bit of meat and challenge)

I don't understand a single bit of German, but Rammstein are so freakin' awesome! :D
(Well I know what some songs are about from translations, and my best friend, (a true music buff) explaining some of the stuff to me)

We're keeping zu Guttenberg confined in a very appropriate low-media-attention/babble-only/no-pay/far-away position nowadays. May he keep this job until Jesus comes back or he dies. Damn, his own party doesn't want him back.

You know I hate companies that don't actually do anything new.

To give Capcom some credit, they do occasionally release new IPs every few years, (though the way they are going at the moment, that looks like it may become less frequent now certain key staff are gone... :(), and EA have been working with indies and that.

The company I hate is "Atari".

Note the quotes. Thats because the Atari we see today is not Atari.
Its a brand image lead by a board of incompetent uncreative suits.

Atari haven't released anything of good note ever since it was revived.
In fact they don't develop anything at all!

The games they make through their IPs that they own or get licences to, are usually developed by a low rate developer.

Very rarely the game is decent, yet for some crazy reason their games sell well.

And they shill those "classics" like cheap whores.

Almost every console has a Atari Classic collection, and they are usually the same cheap quick port with crappy controls and no extras.

But what they are doing at the moment is just vile:

    http://kotaku.com/5873521/indie-says-ataris-on-warpath-against-iphone-apps-with-even-a-passing-resemblance-to-their-old-games

Now, there are a lot of crappy indie games, and a lot are rip-offs of other games, but Atari is just being cruel, and anti-competative.

Oh whats that Atari, people are making games kind of similar to yours?

Are you actually going to show them how its done, and actually put some effort in and make something good?
(Like Taito does. I mean I'll give those guys a lot of love. Whoever is working in that studio these days really cares about the classic games, and really try to evolve their classic games. Every single game has a fascinating twist on the fomulae and though it doesn't always work, I really appreciate those guys for trying)

Nope. You're just going to flex those IP muscles and C&D blitz those poor guys out of their livelihood!

Who cares? I stopped buying Atari products since I bought Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. Which was a huge disappointment, even though I previously played it before. I only buy stuff in discount anyway. Point is, Atari hasn't come out with something that interests me, so yeah.

Although BEH, I really want Blade Kitten.

Also, I'm sick and tired of these people calling themselves "Anonymous". They're tarnishing the good(?) name of 4chan (for lack of a better word). These people were what drove me away from that place back in 2008 (I mostly went there for the porn anyway), and it makes me ashamed I even visited that place.

Urgh, you had to remind me. Out of all the concepts they had the fans vote for, I liked the one where Mainframe was a police state because The User upgraded his OS to something more strict and controlling. It got rid of Megabyte as a Trojan Virus, but you also lost Matrix due to file redundancy AND it also made Bob obsolete as a program/Guardian and forced him into a civilian life. They could have gone so many directions with that one.

Nous is REALLY short, but it's an incredible experience. I really suggest everyone plays this(with a gamepad if possible). The short form of the design comes from a VERY self-aware design philosophy, and I suggest playing through questioning everything you do from the start.

When I started up the game and tapped "A" to get through introductory dialog, and the game responded with "Not yet, idiot! I need to introduce myself.", I knew I was in for something pretty special.

That one was my second favourite, but I voted for the one that won because it felt the most true to the show to me. In its original form that is, not the abomination that it was butchered down into. It had so much potential. The other three were either a bit too weird, or so terrible that even thinking about it fills me with fanrage to this very day...

Congratulations! Glad you managed to find a new place so quickly. Moving is such a pain in the arse though. In fact hatred of moving is the main reason why I have barely any furniture... I know I'll inevitably have to either move it or sell it at some point, and neither option is appealing. In spite of that, perhaps this year I will treat myself to a table, and maybe even a chair!

A bunch of us have the same issue. I've raised it, but don't know if/when it'll be fixed. It might even just go away in the site upgrade.

Could be done with simple CSS I assume, by increasing the box height of the header thingy.

That, or by not extending the link area to that arrow thingy thing extension on you know what, I'm going to take a short nap, because I can't think straight.
