    Netflix has everything.

Does it have obscure unreleased shit? Because not piracy has obscure, unreleased shit that copyright holders probably hate having public.

Well it obviously doesn't have that.
But to be fair to it, it does have a lot of stuff.

I was expecting the UK launch to not have anything at all, but I had a look, and it has a lot of stuff on there already.
The first month is free, and its like £5.99 a month. Thats cheaper than my Old Republic subscription, heck its cheaper than most mobile subscriptions, and I have the tech already to take the most advantage of it.

The children stuff is the most impressive stuff so far.
I mean, my little bro goes to the library, pays about £2-4 on DVDs to rent each week, but here, he can watch most of the shows he would ever want to watch at any time, for a fraction of the cost!
(At a higher quality than the current stuff he streams from the net. Though the language thing would be lost though...)

Stuff my little bro loves that he can watch here:

    - The ENTIRE 5 seasons of X-Men
    - Most of the Spiderman cartoons
    - Iron Man
    - Fantastic Four
    - The Incredible Hulk
    - Pingu
    - Sonic Underground (he has most of the DVDs though..)
    - SatAM Sonic (which he has never seen before. Only Underground and Adventures)
    - Jetsons The Movie
    - A few kids cartoons I'm to embarassed to mention
    - The Wizard
    - The Secret of Nimh
    - Homeward Bound
    - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
    - Power Rangers
    - Tron
    - The Princess Bride

They got friggin' Dune on here.

Hell, by the time you watch all the cool stuff on here, hopefully they will have even more awesome stuff to watch.

(I will admit the children section is lacking at the moment, but the other stuff compensates, oh boy, does it compensate! :D)

Just found a new movie called Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil. It has the guy that played Bert Wysocki, aka "Sock" on Reaper.

This isn't so much beating a dead horse anymore as it is beating a pile of horse pulp. Give it a rest already.

I liked the initial response better... The halo fell off, eh?

I kept flipping between posting as a mod telling him to knock it off or as a pissed off forumite tired of hearing about it.

Piracy isn't dickery, though. It's essentially victimless if you only hit large faceless corporations. Hell, their backhanded dealing is practically begging for it from a karmic sense.

I guess I'll stop, though. My standard response whenever someone brings up Netflix or other such things is instantly to refer people to a better way of doing things, but I mustn't piss off the mods.

Yeah, I share similar views to you as well.
(Being all high and mighty would just be hippocritical)

But as long as their is a decent enough legitimate way, and I can afford it, I will go for it.

There is a lot the corporations need to do to achieve true progress, but to be fair, the small shoots of progress are to be seen all over the place now.
It just takes the right conditions, and a skillful horticulturer to make those plants grow, and grow strong!

SOPA and its supporters are the blight that threatens the garden, and we as a global community need to ensure that the weeds are not allowed to take root and wilt the great accomplishments that have been sowed so far!

It's not the piracy that I'm calling you out on here (though yes, it's against forum policy, piracy being one of the few things the mods have been instructed to completely disallow discussion of), it's the relentless beating us over the head with it.

Fine. I'll take the horse pulp out of the blender and lay it to rest, already.

I was more trying to combine "beating a dead horse" with "beating to a pulp", but if you prefer the imagery of a horse in a blender, that's great.

Wait... Horse pulp isn't a euthanism for Horse poop?

What does piracy have to do with Netflix?

Are you trying to say that the entertainment industry is too fricken slow to adapt to, and frequently fights against, the introduction of new distribution technologies? (which, in fact, they are)

Or are you saying that anyone with half a brain should use GorillaVid or MegaVideo instead of Netflix because Netflix's library is not diverse enough? (which isn't Netflix's fault, per se)

    or what?

Sometimes my brain adds an "off" when reading "beating a dead horse".

Just a point here, but it's important to remember that at the bottom of a corporation are ordinary people, like you or me. And I mean ordinary. Because the stockholders are basically what makes a corporation. They OWN it.

And lots of corporations give out quarterly dividends to shareholders. Some of those shareholders, like my grandpa, have to LIVE on those dividends since the Social Security they receive for being retired isn't enough to pay for a decent place to live, medical care, and three meals a day. So I would say that corporations are not huge entities to be despised. Sometimes their actions are, but it's important to remember that there are people out there who depend on them just to get by.

    Giant robots.

Eureka Seven wins. It has giant sky surfing robots.

I discovered that my subconscious representation of my Super-Ego is that of an Indian woman modeled after some deity I can't identify. My Ego is apparently dead, as my subconscious represented it as an urn on a coffee table.

And in case anyone is wondering how I came to this discovery, my most recent dream featured my Id and Super-Ego having a discussion detailing all my flaws as a person and how to fix them. Now if only I could remember the damn conversation...

One of the few giant robot shows I can stand. It was actually, relatively feel good compared to the others, which got bogged down in their angst.

My Id is always curious and asking questions. I don't know why, but I have this natural drive to want to learn more about anything that catches my interests.

My Ego is dead because of a strong connection to my self-esteem, but let's not go there.

I'm just surprised that my Super-Ego is, according to my subconscious, is a female, Indian, and a religious figure that is quite knowledgeable. Too bad I can't remember what she said.
