Hey mods, just for lack of forum clutter's sake. Would it be a smart idea to close a thread that was about a question already answered? And then if a person feels the question needs a better answer or something, they can ask the mods to unclose the thread?

Would that be a good idea or too much work?

The people who troll wikipedia looking for articles to tag for deletion make me mad... especially since most of them don't even appear to know all of the rules for notability themselves.

I've been able to successfully defend all of my articles in deletion debates so far by pointing out notability guidelines that the articles meet that the nominator missed, but it's frustrating that I have to do that at all since I always properly source my articles in the first place.

    True. True. But it's frustrating.

It just like when I had a Paypal donations link in the early 2000's. I posted that I had a Paypal merchant account that deducted a fixed amount (a dollar, give or take, IIRC) regardless of how much people donated. So I asked that people please donate a minimum of $1 (give or take. I can't remember the exact amount). So I got a ton of $0.01 "donations" and it ended up costing me money.

The experience soured me on the internet for a while, and made me too cynical.

But, I digress. I try to let these things slide off my back (for the most part) these days.

If I buy something and don't post it on last item you purchased thread and the mods find out is that a banable offence?

Just for your avatar, they'll make an exception. It'll be a bananable offence. Yes, I know that was awful, and I want everyone to witness the awfulness.

Holy shit, Alan Silvestri, why did you have to blow your musical talent all over me and simultaneously take a big fat shit all over your previous scores....even Back to the Future. Cap was great and majestic, but this is the most sweeping epic theme I have heard from a blockbuster since Pirates of the Caribbean. Actually, this is better than Pirates. This is the new Superman theme to me.

It's certainly a great theme for a superhero film... but I wouldn't say the score is more memorable than the Back to the Future theme.

Holy cow! That was pretty fantastic. I'll definitely be watching this movie if the music is like that for the whole thing and I barely even know the superheroes who will be in it!

    BTW Happy Fawful-day!

    And Happy Birthday, Fawful! :D

*sigh* oh I hate my dickwad of an older brother.

I've told him I'm working on an assignment, so what does he do?

Decides to play music channels at loud volume with bass, just to get on my nerves..

(He knows I loathe the music he likes. >: /)

I can't concentrate while that crap is on, so I guess I'll have to wait till he buggers off somewhere to resume my work.

    (Man, what an asshole! >:X)

I like Silvestri but he's always been a little too bombastic and grandiose for my taste, and not in the way that appeals to me. For that sort of sound I prefer Basil Poledouris.

I assume it was the coffee that played far more than the average evil tricks on my digestion yesterday. So I didn't drink any coffee today. And you know what... caffeine addiction is a bitch. My head sprouts incredible warning signs. It wants the stuff whatever the cost. :(

Ah, c'mon, as great as it is, it doesn't beat BTTF's theme in any way.

Also: Writing a bombastic theme for actual super heroes is nothing compared to writing music for a skateboard chase where the protagonist's only real danger is getting beat up by a bully, while making it sound like he's actually saving the world.

The Avengers theme is really not bad, but... Silvestri has done a lot of far better things in his life. Including, just for example, this, which gets me crying every time.

And Jen, keep up the good art!!

Eddie Valiant's theme. One of the best soundtracks I ever purchased.

Not so sure there. Zemeckis WANTS to do it, but... I don't trust him that much as a filmmaker anymore. If this is an Indy 4, I'll head over to Hollywood and just kill Bob.

I can highly recommend this CD, if you manage to find it:

Meh. Its a good bundle, but I already own most of the games in it, so I'll pass.

Also I still didn't get that assignment finished today.

Older brother stuck around much longer than anticipated, and he makes my blood boil so much, it takes me a long time to cool down afterwards.

Haven't played much today either. Played a little Lumines II, (its alright for £1.50, but I don't quite get the "hook" of it.), some Shadows of the Damned, (my 360 has been on idle for hours since I had to postpone my session till I finally repossess the TV). May even dig into some Persona, though thats quite addictive so I might not.

Blech. Pecking order. Ruins my fun thats for sure.
Don't think I'm going to stay up too late. Quite tired already (its only 10pm here).

Might drink a bit of Stawberry Mojito. Might help me get a good night's sleep.
I'm going to need it tomorrow. Lots of work to do.... >:¬/ )

I think that they should make like a pack of Zantac, but like bigger! Much bigger!
Thats stuff is expensive, like £4 a pack, but it would be great to buy it in bulk of some kind.

Its exploitation, but thr damn things are the only think that defeats my acid indigestion/heartburn.

    Curse yE! Pill companies!
You are evil. you are the demons.
    But we needs the medicine.

    Dammit.
(also my eyes hwon't stay open now... man. This stuff is pretty strong, (well its like 10% so its not that strong. I guess my tolerance is still very low, huh! XD))
