Christmas Shopping

The Christmas shopping season is nearing and I wanted to remind everyone that it you are ordering from outside of the U.S. and you want to receive your order in time for Christmas you need to order ASAP.

Due to customs delays orders can take up to six weeks to get you. :(

Well, it won't help people who order The Devil's Playhouse DVD. I can't believe that I am saying this, but I hope you guys don't start delivering it during the shopping season.

Also, out of curiosity, are you planning to do a free shipping promotion like you did last year?

I'll say it right now, just so international customers don't hold off on pulling the trigger to place their orders and totally miss out on getting their stuff by the holidays. We're planning for the holiday free shipping to only apply to customers within the continental United States with purchases of $50.00 or more.

I'll go ahead and speak the mind of everyone living in Europe.

    I'm a sad donkey muffin.

Yeah, I'm not too happy about that to be honest. I understand that plans change but that was less than a week ago. I decided to just order the things I was interested in and pony up for the shipping while I was putting in my Back to the Future preorder and now I find I COULD have got free shipping on my order if only I had waited a day or two. I would have just put it down to bad luck if you hadn't specifially posted saying that there was no point waiting for free shipping but that turns it from a mild annoyance into something that, for me, is a major problem.

(And just so I say it again, I know plans change, but I'd have been a lot happier if I'd just missed out on free shipping by being unaware the opportunity might come up).

Edited because I just realised my first actual post was for a grump. So to redeem it slightly - I loved Tales of Monkey Island and Puzzle Agent and am looking forward to playing all three Sam & Max seasons (and BttF when it is released, of course!)

Very sorry about that. Plans were literally changed due to a less than 2 minute drop-in visit to an office at the last minute. Had there been any doubt that we would not be offering free international shipping I would not have posted that. I tend to be very conservative with my statements so not to have to eat my words like this. Again, apologies from me.

I'm sure I'll get over it! As I said, I do understand that plans change and you were only trying to be helpful in the first place, so people stood more chance of getting their orders on time. I know you weren't deliberately trying to deceive us or anything! It just stings a bit, as I'm sure you can imagine (especially as I'm waiting for S&M 3 so the order hasn't shipped yet).

I'll just think about all the fantastic deals I've got from Telltale recently and I'll be back in a place of sunshine and light again soon!

    Hi All,

Be mad at me, not Alan. The change to free shipping worldwide was truly a last-minute decision based on new information. We seriously considered going worldwide based on the fact that so many of our customers are outside the U.S., but the first look at the numbers suggested we shouldn't. So, Alan's post was very true at the time. Then we took a deeper look and saw worldwide could work, so we changed it, I'd say for the better. And now you not only got a better deal, you just got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how Telltale makes decisions! Please retweet and happy holidays. :-)
