Tales of Monkey Island Chapters 2-5 missing.

So, I just bought Tales of Monkey Island on PSN, and it didn't give me the rest of the chapters. I can only download Chapter 1(trial) and the Full Game Upgrade thingy, which I downloaded(several times), but still no success.
Did this happen to anyone else? Do I have to finish Chapter 1 to get the other ones?

I remembered reading about that problem in the forums a long time ago.
I searched for a while and I found this thread.
I'm pretty sure that there is a more comprehensive one, but it's not easy skimming through hundreds of threads!
    Hope it helps!

    Thanks! =)
It's exactly the opposite for me. XD
I'll try searching for older threads, maybe I'll find something.

Boy, did I misread your first post! ;)
Anyway, I did more searches using the words "TOMI" or "Island" as part of the title or in posts in the "Tales of Monkey Island", "Game Support" and "Shopping and Activation Support" sections of the forum and went all the way back to June 15 (when the game was released for PSN), but to no avail.
I found more threads about the problem mentioned in the first thread I dug up, but not much else.
It would have been easier if the words "PSN" or "PS3" were not considered to short by the search engine, but the end result would probably have been the same.
I hope you can figure something out.
    Sorry! :(

Check your Download History, when you purchase the Full Season Pass, at the payment screen, you should have seen Four Episode on the list (2 - 5), if you have purchased the Season Pass, they should have been added to your Download History to download again.
  • edited December 2010
I just bought the series on PSN, but I can't find Episodes 2-5 anywhere. I do have the season pass if I check my entitled downloads, only episode 1 demo and the season unlock are visible. I can't find the other episodes anywhere in the store either.

    European (Dutch) PSN store FWIW.

Same problem here. Can an admin or Telltale staff member look into this and contact Sony? I'm sure its a simple error on the PSN.
UK PSN only Episode 1 and season pass available.
    Thanks
    Ryan

Oh yeah, ToMI IS £7.19 on UK PSN at the moment, right?
  • edited December 2010
I called PSN support, they are looking into it.

I did too - And other people.

SONY customer support are now claiming there are no episode 2-5 on ps3 ...lol.

Whats the point of a customer support team if they are next to useless?

Could someone from the developers/ publishers sort this mess out please.

Because if we have to rely on SCEE,it wont get sorted until NEXT christmas.
  • edited December 2010
Hmmm, if it's not on the store, technically it can't have a licence, meaning, what about those of us who have the game already, wouldn't that lock out 2 - 5?
  • edited December 2010
Please could somebody from Telltale inform the morons at Sony Customer Support that there's actually a problem? I figure that they might actually listen to the developer (seeming as they are fobbing people like myself off, saying that episode's 2-5 aren't and were never available for PS3).
  • edited December 2010
Not really mentioned, but the 'official' explanation was the sale was just for the first episode, not the whole series.

Also, it only applies to the EU PSN apparently.
  • edited December 2010
So I do also have that problem. It is pretty bad, because I waitet so long for that. Can somebody call Sony and tell them that in the describtion it is the full season unlock and that there are more than one episodes? (because of friends or whatever)

I guess the description shouldn't say it's for 5 games then. There's a little thing called the trade descriptions act and that means what Sony-of-a-bitch are doing is breaking the law. They'll rue the day I tell's thee, rue it!
  • edited December 2010
Well yeah the thingy that I purchased was called "Tales of Monkey Island - Full Series (Vollversions-Upgrade) 8,99 €" here in Germany.
So same thing here. Just sent an E-Mail to Sony but I don't really believe in an helpful answer. I just hope they solve the problem until 2011.
  • edited December 2010
I could be mistaken but the PSN server was down earlier (for maintenance) and when it came back up; the description for TOMI had changed from '5 games' to 'full series upgrade'. Why do I get the feeling that Sony are trying to alter the deal to save their sorry ass from legal procedings?! I want what I paid for damn it!
  • edited December 2010
But when it says "Full Series" then what I expect to get is the full series. What about that would save their ass from legal procedings.

Also I just realized that The Devil's Playhouse is down, too. All you can get is the trial. I mean I do have it on my PS3 but what if I wanted to re-download the episodes? I couldn't.
The episodes are still listed as games but there's no content. So there's quite a difference to the Tales issue but both games are taken down.

I couldn't agree more that changing the download status to 'full series' would still imply that the consumer should recieve the entire season and not just episode 1. However, I do find it not only odd, but also timely (considering the recent complaints) that the item description has possibly changed.

From a legal stand point, it may be feasible that altering the information from '5 games' to 'full series', whilst simultaneously reducing the available number of available episodes to a grand total of one....
  • edited December 2010
...would constitute the delivery of the entire ”series” (from a technical and possibly legal point of view).

I'm not suggesting that the previous scenario is actually factual but rather that it may be a possibility. If Sony have changed the description for TOMI, then you may, like myself ask why?!

P.S. I'm sorry for the double post but my PS3 seems to limit my text entry! Now I have two reasons to be pissed at Sony-of-a-bitch.

We payed for the full 5 chapters - And we must get the 5 chapters.

This gen,SCEE has proven itself to be a complete shambles. Its one thing after another it seems. It cant keep passing the buck to developers / Publishers.I'm sick and tired of SCEE's bleeting and finger pointing.

Ive been lied to over the phone - Ive had emails ignored.

Christmas period is no excuse. If they want to sell stuff over this period, they must be prepared to sort problems out over this period.

Posts completly ignored by the mods on the official forums - No updates on the situation what-so-ever.

Not even an acknoledgement that there is any sort of problem.

As someone has said on the other forum - If an online retailer operated in the manner, they wouldnt last 5 minutes.
  • edited December 2010
Any update on this? I am facing the same issue, paid for "the complete series" and ended up having only the chapter 1 and no way to download or play the other 4 chapters.

    Thank you in advance

P.S: I just realized they now changed the description from "Full Series" in the Store to "Chapter 1" when you look in the download manager. So now the two descriptions don't match.
  • edited December 2010
No, you downloaded the full series, it has to contain Chapter 1 unlock, Chapter 2 full .... Chapter 5 full. But in the pakage there was only the unlock for Chapter 1, and that is illegal.
  • edited December 2010
imo the really confusing thing is, isnt this an official telltalegames forum? why nobody from ttg has anything to say about this?

That is the fault on Sony's side, if they are only selling Chapter 1 in the Unlock, there is no way for the person who bought this to then get the rest of the Season!

I believe this is the fault of Sony. However, Telltale really should be on Sony's back about this (seeming as the problem is giving both companies a bad name). It would be highly appreciated if someone over at Telltale towers could respond to this thread, maybe they're still on their Christmas holidays?

In all honesty, I expect this problem will be sorted sometime in the new year. I mean, they have to sort it or they will find themselves in a legally dubious and highly actionable situation. Don't worry too much, I'm fairly certain that you'll be playing episodes 2-5 soon enough...

...if not then we can all get rich by taking Sony to the cleaners in court :D

    From the PS Forum:

Just had a 22 minute phone call, I was put on hold a couple of times for him to speak to the product specialist. I made it clear that the other chapters are completly missing on the store but he kept insisting about installing them properly and believes the 100kb file which we purchased will magically create another 800megabytes of data for the other 4 missing chapters, because like I kept reminding him the chapter 1 trial we are meant to download is only 200megabyte so its just not going to happen.
The other 4 chapters are missing and not on the store at all.

Hes gave me a reference number, so he wants me to try something now which I am in process of doing and he said if it doesnt work to call back, give the reference number and then the case will be escalated to the headquarter office for investigating.

So yup, when this doesnt work in a minute I will be calling back and hopefully it will be escalated as easily as he told me it would and so hopefully we can all be playing the full game which we purchased soon

    Later the guy said:

This issue has now been escalated to the Playstation Network Stores Head Office.

There's few things in life as annoying as having someone who's clueless, trying to explain how they know better.

I don't think they ever bothered to port over the remaining episodes, but if they do they should work as the season pass that was in the PSN sale is the same as the ones they were selling when Sam and Max season 3 was trickling onto the PSN store.

Ash735's right, the US store has all 5 episodes, chuffing EU PSN!

Guys, the sale was just for the first episode. The full series is not on sale. Thus why it works on US PSN.
