Anyone want to do a Marathon?

I apologize if there's a thread on this already and most likely I will be moved but from what I gathered in Gametrailers TV show, June 23rd will be the date the 5th episode is released. Anyways, I plan to do an entire BTTF marathon which includes:

June 17: Back To The Future
June 18: Back To The Future part 2
June 19: Back To The Future part 3
June 20: BTTF: The Game - It's About Time
June 21: BTTF: The Game - Get Tannen!
June 22: BTTF: The Game - Citizen Brown
June 23: BTTF: The Game - Double Visions
June 24: BTTF: The Game - OUTATIME

I say the 24th just because Telltale games usually release it at night and we would be playing it until after midnight.

Anyways, you can do whatever you want whether you want to make it in one day or follow what I will do but I'm just wondering other than myself if there's gonna be anyone doing the same thing.

I might, I don't know if I'll want to on the 20th, though. (My birthday.) I think I'll try it as one day sometime.

Awesome, no matter how it turns out whether you want to do something or not I hope you have a happy birthday and your present being the 5th episode, hopefully. LOL :D

I was already planning on doing this.

I was also already planning on doing this (it was going to cover all three movies in one day and an episode a day following) but since you made such an organized schedule, it'd be a shame to let it go to waste.

Hell no. I spent three whole days doing nothing but playing Back to the Future once. It wasn't fun.
  • edited June 2011
    I'm down for that.

I no longer have episode 1 because the computer was about out of space, but I can watch it via Youtube so maybe. I think I have all three movies recorded on my TV but I also have the dvd's. So maybe. But if it is a Friday I will probably play it at night till I finish it. If the 23rd is not a Friday, I might follow my past couple episodes pattern of doing some or a bit at night and finishing the next day or two.

Lol, no worries. I was just wondering whether people will join me with the Marathon and it doesn't matter if people follow the schedule or not since they can do it any other time.

The episodes are fairly small. You can probably remove something from your computer to make the space available for re-downloading and installing the first episode of Back to the Future again. I personally use disk space fan to see what's taking up space on my hard drives. It makes the process of finding what's taking up space and deleting it very convenient and visual.

    Okay.

I was thinking on doing it all in a single day. Wake up, get breakfast, then watch all the movies and play all the episodes.

I did a movie run before the first game. I'm definitely in on a marathon, though I might just take a vacation day, watch all the movies, and play all the games timing it to end right with the release of this new one.

Playing them in that context the first time around, the game definitely felt like a natural extension of the movies. I'm curious to see how well it all fits together as a total series in a single run through.

i'm actually watching part one now! couldn't resist i'm hooked! LOL

I tried a rerun of the games already (like I did with ToMI), but I couldn't. Too boring.

naw you'd be best to wait till episode 5 comes out to play all 5 together

Yeah im gonna watch the btttf ride footage as well to make it longer, i already did this whilse waiting for double visions, i gave up because the games bored me too much :(

NOT a bad idea! I just finished combining all 3 BTTF movies into one 5 1/2 hour long film!

...actually, now I'm considering setting up a livestream for people to watch me playing through the entire run straight through. Would anyone be interested in that? =P

You mean the season or just episode 5?
Also I thought you couldnt stand this season?

Your commentary would be pretty entertaining. I say go for it.

    The whole season.

    And I can't.

I'd be interested with a little amount of improvised narration!

Though, really, you wouldn't be able to PAY me to play through the entire season from the beginning again. You're a ballsy guy, Dashing.

actually what i've actually been doing is taking the text from the "story so far" dialogues and converting them into scripts so far i've only done episode 3 but i'm doing episodes 1 and 2 today and i'll do it for episode 4 and 5 once they hit ps3 too hard to translate when the computer is in fullscreen mode

I'd love that ... but livestream is filtered here and the net speed is too slow anyway. Just if I could download your playthroughs ...

Six hours of "omg this is so terrible" commentary? SOLD.
  • edited June 2011
I'd be willing to watch but just for the record, Dashing, I'm hoping you're planning on MST3K style commentary.

If only because that can go with just about anything and be hilarious. You can MST the Bible and make it be funny.

I'm definitely interested in your commentary and knowing how much you hate the game, I'm guessing it would prove to be decent entertainment.

I'd be interested in a marathon, but I doubt I'll ever be able to run more than 15 km. I started training again, though. ;)

...but what about the animated series?!

    *hides*

...actually... I always kinda wanted to see a string of all the live action segments with Doc (played by Christopher Lloyd) from that... would anyone happen to know if such a thing is out there to be found?

    Yay! Thanks, supmandude85!

But to get back to the actual topic of the thread, yes, I too am thinking of replaying episodes 1-4 prior to playing episode 5, as well as re-watching the movies. I am not on as tightly manageable a schedule, but I do want to do something to that effect.

I replayed episodes 1 and 2 when Citizen Brown came out, and I wasn't disappointed with that... it did make it more obvious that the puzzles were kind of flimsy, but the story and acting holds up well in my opinion.

June 13th: Back to the Future
June 14th: Back to the Future Part II
June 15th: Back to the Future Part III

June 19th: Back to the Future: The Game Episode 1 - It's About Time
June 20th: Back to the Future: The Game Episode 2 - Get Tannen!
June 21st: Back to the Future: The Game Episode 3 - Citizen Brown
June 22nd: Back to the Future: The Game Episode 4 - Double Visions
June 23rd: Back to the Future: The Game Episode 5 - OUTATIME

    Pretty long, huh?

I've been doing it for a while, starting around May 20.

Started with BTTF1 , 2 and 3, then the ride video, the two season of the animated series, and now, the game, of which i just finished episode 2 yesterday :) .

This is an awsome idea. I might start on the 13th though cos I've got an exam them and i could use a break.

So just to let people know I'm starting the Marathon today at 10:04 pm. I feel like it's so close now waiting for the last episode.

YES. Commentary is a must, though.

Thats nothing. You have to do them all in one day, or you do not love BTTF.
