One Year Later: Do you want a return to The Inventory?
I would've made this on the actual anniversary, but I forgot.
So, Poker Night's been out for over a year now. As shallow as the game itself was, my inner crossover fanatic can't help but love the concept. So, do you want Telltale to do another "At the Inventory" game?
I'd like to see it as long as it's something more gameplay-intensive than poker. A point-and-click where you explore the Inventory would be nice.

Like an adventure game where you play as the 4 in different moments with their own abilities.
Or L4D style with them.
L4D with the Heavy wouldn't work.
Even if they don't end up making a season out of it it would be cool if they kept it going, maybe a game at a time, like with Puzzle Agent.
Or LARPing at the Inventory. With Strong Sad as the host.
Or rather, Strong Sad as every character you'll encounter.
That is, until his untimely demise by a velociraptor.
With...Sybil, Marzipan, Scout's Mother, and Annarchy?
Not quite an all-star cast.
Please, Telltale, let us go back to the Inventory some time.
Sam: No Max
Max: awwww but Sam!
Sam: NO MAX!
Max:
now starring the Medic!
I was thinking maybe Table Pool.
Not that it's no good now, but these newer, more dramatic, bigger-named licenses just don't feel the same, you know?
Seconded!
Maybe they'll think about Poker Night 2 between some of these big franchises they're working on at the moment, then perhaps a full season when they've finished and they want to see what money they have still to make with the classics.
Take my money.
How does Strong Bad pick up cards with boxing gloves on?
they are his haaaaands
Absolutely!
they must solve the mystery of the Inventory when a new character traps all the Telltale game characters inside.... and there is a unlockable Strong Bad costume for Max or Strong Bad could be a character you can play as in the game.
And since pretty much everything Heavy said was non-canon to the TF2 universe, perhaps actually working with some of Valve's writers to set things straight.
Ohh, you know who I'd love to be in a sequel? SAXTON HALE!
And even though it was likely made as a spiritual successor to Telltale Texas Hold'em, with how successful it was, I think a follow-up of some kind would absolutely be worth it. Hey, if there's more new TF2 items in it there's no doubt it'll sell. People love their hats, man.
I once saw a great fan art of a "reverse" Poker Night, with Sam, Homestar, The Medic and Gabe. Maybe something could be done with that... you never know~
But yes, I'd very much be in favor of a "return to the Inventory", and I think it definitely could be a good decision on Telltale's part too. It's the best game I'm sure I've ever gotten for $5, I've played it so much I've unlocked everything (but somehow haven't even heard all the dialogue yet I'm sure!) and it's still one of my favorite little funny time wasters.
Dude, I'd love to play as the T-Rex from Jurassic Park, as I race Guybrush Threepwood and the guy from Law & Order!!!
No, a tractor.
I'M THE FOREMAN!
Great idea
I can imagine it now...
Guybrush Threepwood!!!!
More Tf2 characters
Indiana Jones (From the Lucasarts game)
More Lucas arts adventure games characters in general.
Yahtzee Croshaw
(Telltale should also utilise the indie market to the fullest, I'm sure there are loads of indie devs who would love to see their characters going into a game such as this)
Classic playstation/nintendo characters (although I see the obvious financial, and otherwise, hurdles involved in such an undertaking. But I would love to see Crash Bandicoot. Jak and Daxter. Leon Kennedy all sitting around telling tales and generally enjoying what the inventory has to offer)
I would also love other modes such as:
Pool (imagine shooting pool with Max from Sam and Max, or one of the tentacles from Day of the Tentacle)
Darts
Blackjack
Chess
Also, for those times when you can't be bothered playing any games and you just want to kick back and listen to some quality dialogue. Perhaps you could sit by the fire with some of the characters, order a dram of Whiskey and just listen as they exchanged stories and took part in heated debates about life, philosophy, and whatever else video game characters talk about.
I personally think this would be truly marvelous and I wish my full idea could be realised. Alas it is unlikely to ever come to fruition, but I would love to see something along the lines of what I just described if they ever do manage another outing to the Inventory.
