Controller compatability on Steam version for Mac

edited June 2012 in The Walking Dead
I pre-ordered from TTG and they sent me a Steam key and I'm new to Steam. I downloaded it and it runs, but I don't have a usb mouse. I have a "Power A" usb controller, which is meant for the computer and PlayStation 3 system. It registers, but it's configured horribly. The game registers it as an Xbox controller, and I've only found about three buttons that actually work; the "R1" button registers as the "A" button, Start is the same but lags, and the triangle button registers as "B". If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I tried unplugging the controller, because I have an application that can map keystrokes to a usb controller, but when I clicked on the "controls" option, it still showed the controls for an Xbox 360 controller. This is very obnoxious, as I have been waiting all day to play the game. Nothing on the internet is helping. Again, any advice is appreciated.

I tried a PS3 controller and a Speed Link Strike 2, they are working, but the buttons are not right, e.g. the R1 button on the PS3 controller is the A button as ZSloth11 mentioned before... On the Strike 2 the R3 button is the A button...

Did someone try to play with a xBox controller?

I've just played through chapter 1 with the xbox 360 controller on the mac and it worked a treat.

You have to download a free driver for the mac. Once done it works really well.

Same here I used a wireless 360 controller with the third party drivers and it worked great. Wish it had rumble support though like feral games tend to do.
