    You get the axe
    when you go get Glenn at the motel. You have to finish that scene to get it.

    When you do it is entirely up to you once it is known.

    Grab the pillow.
    Use the pillow on the zombie by the car.
    Open the car, take the spark plug, and move the gear shift.
    Give the spark plug to Glenn, then use the smashed spark plug on the car window.
    Take the ice pick.
    Go on a zombie killing spree.
