Is a bug that causes all your Walking Dead save data to erase, more than once, a good reason for a damn refund?!!!

Nope. But it's a reason to wait a little longer since TTG is just investigating these problems and they already announced new builds adressing some of those problems. There is however no ETA yet.

People... it's a game. It's not even finished (we have 3 episode left) and when you bought it, you knew it. There are people working on this, not machines that gives you an exact ETA on stuff.
Just... chill. If you want to play it without trouble, you should have waited for the whole 5 episodes to come out. That's how it works with "episodic games".

Question is, why did you bother to necro this thread? This is for the support forum, not a dead bitching thread.

I want a refund aswell. not for the reasons doucet stated, but because all my saves have dissapeared and I can't make new ones. I also can't play ep.2 no matter what I do, even though I have bought it.

Yeah, me too. I bought it directly from Telltale. Episode 2 shows as installed but I can't freaking run it. I want my money back.
  • patience is a virtue.

good things come to those who wait, etc.

i know its a hard concept to comprehend, waiting, especially in a consumer-based society thats used to "on demand" "twitter" and "real time updates" etc.

imagine, if you will, a time when they would actually deliver comic books, to your mailbox, & you had to really physically wait for the next issue to arrive.

    think of it like that?

    oh well i tried.

I could see an issue if they said episode two was being pushed pack two months.. but that is not the case.

When was episode 2 released again??

All of them are going to be pushed back so they can make way with the IOS deployment (new profit) pretty much making everyone who bought a season pass wait longer........

I did not see patience is a virtue in the season pass pre sale website. I saw monthly episode releases.

If folks saw patience is a virtue they never would have bought the season pass......

No they are not. Stop making things up.

THIS IS A GAME THAT EVERY ONCE AND A WHILE COMES WITH A NEW EPISODE, this means that they might take a bit longer due to unexpected things happening, fine tuning or hell maybe just plain lazyness, who knows.

Or would you rather have Telltale dump some steaming piece of fecal mater that's supposed to resemble an episode of The Walking Dead because they had to meet your "Monthly releases"?

    Hello everyone,

thank you very much for this discussing. It seems to be an ongoing process. As a fact: I don't own tWD by now. But since the beginning of this week I cross this website on a very regular basis and ask myself: Do I or don't I buy it? Or: Why does this game show up on my radar so hard?

Looking at this conversation here I need to admit that I am quite hesitant and probably remain that way. I understand the real arguments on both sides which show up between the tearful whining of some d-bags. $25 bucks really is nothing to worry or to make fuzz about considering 10-20 bucks for the average cinema ticket or 20-25 bucks for a standard-issue restaurant meal w/o the opportunity to get the money back so easily ... Complaining about this small amount of hard(ly?) earned money is like crying a single stirge sharing the same room ...

As for the pros people (i.e. the ones supporting TTG strategies and policies) here explain that TTG gets into unannounced delays on a seemingly regular basis. Also tWD still is just a game, and a not finished one.
The main arguments on the cons are especially lack of announcements and the monthly period; recently the technical issues with saves or running the game in general is added as well.

To be frank or honest or whatever: I don't buy the month-argument, because delays just happen. But I do care about things like communication with customers or more or less properly working products. Having learned about a game-episode being delivered with a decent amount of delay and still having heavy troubles regarding save stands or running at all raises doubts on my side.

That is why I would like to add a spin to this topic: Is the number of complaints in this topic a reflection of general issues and problems, or just the result of a very "specific" group of people - like shouters or barking dogs, professional complainers, d-bags, and assheads? The answer to this question would help me buying the game or wayting to buy it ...

Thank you very much for your attention. And no, English is not my first language, but the first I'd choose if god or whatever entity spit me another time on earth'S face (or wherever) and gave me the opportunity to choose a language myself ...

    All the best!
    Liam

From what I've seen, you have a few 'Barking Dogs' and then quite a few concerned consumers. I haven't posted much, I know delays happen, bugs crop up, and other issues take precedence over others. My biggest issue so far though, is there has been little to no communication from anyone on the team, addressing the issues/bugs or even acknowledging them at this point.

I still can't play episode 2 and have been patiently waiting since it shipped but, now I'm starting to think it wont ever be fixed. The purchase cost was minimal, I don't care about it, the lack of communication though, I do care about. That's where they lost what could have been a long term customer.

    Copied from support:
Telltale's episodic games are a series of 2-4 hour, story-driven games that are released online on a regular schedule. The episodes usually have self-contained stories, but they're part of a greater, season-wide arc that becomes apparent as you play the episodes. As with a favorite TV show, the more you play, the more familiar you'll become with the characters and the overarching story.

series of 2-4 hour ? maybe next episode will take 6 hours to do ?

released online on a regular schedule ? Regular....Regular..... mean date ? or month ? maybe years ?

Yea game concept is good, but is that worth the 25$ ?

what you think about it ?

Myself i ask for a refund, cause they dont deliver it....

If you actually experience everything and don't rush through it each episode takes 2 hours MINIMUM. It's an ADVENTURE GAME, and that means you're supposed to explore things.

So far it's been released every 2-3 months. Seems regular enough to me. Also the delays have been OUTSIDE of the companies issues. Blame PSN\XBox Live and Steam for each having their own distinctive way of approving a game to go on the platform. Sometimes that causes a delay when 1 takes longer than the other.

No on MADE you buy a season pass. I buy mine $5 at a time but lets be honest 5 episodes = MINIMUM gameplay of 10 hours. I adored Portal 2 but beat it in maybe 6 hours and I paid $60 for it. I feel it was quality and I'd do it again because I don't think a game needs missions that take hours to do to pack a quality punch. $25 is a STEAL for the quality storytelling we're getting.
