I Want My Money Back

Greetings everyone I don't expect this thread to remain,
I know this forum will result in A LOT of criticism from a lot of different people. However my case is simple. I purchased the game soon after the launch and played through it several times before the end of May. I have my game saved exactly the way I want it, ready for Episode 2 which was to come out (according to the promise they made) in 1 month. I've seen screens, videos, and discussions about episode 2. With that much development I can't imagine Anything that is causing such a delay.
Now people are talking about it coming out LATE June (which I realize is Very close) but that doesn't change the Fact that I paid in good faith for a product that was to be released sooner. I paid money for a product and a delivery date. To be delayed by 2 months is unacceptable.
Basically, I want my money back and I will think twice about buying Anything from Telltale Games again. Because they Sure Have told Us All a TALE in regards to their commitments to their customers.

You will likely get flamed by the fanboys on this site, but stuff like this is exactly what is needed. They need to be called on their bs and they need to get their act together.

Thanks for the support. I don't want to come across as someone who is bashing a company or product without just cause. They made a good game and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much that I looked forward to it!!! A lot! But as the time has gone by and I continued to check the site it seemed like it was a mistake to get committed to the game.
The way I will now see this game series is that every episode will be delayed. If the 2nd episode is delayed what about the 3rd, the 4th, etc...? I'm getting out now before I get hooked again.

I hate to sound mean, I don't think they will refuned it. It would be like going to the store buying a movie, and watch it, and deside to take it back to get your money back.

Because that you got the first episode on your computer, that would be like the movie that you watched or copied, and then wanting your money back. That is where copyright laws fall into place.

That goes for games, movies, software, music etc...

Don't get me wrong I agree but, I doubt it would happen.

That analogy isn't very good flawless02. In it a person pays for a product and gets the product they bought. In this situation we bought a product under the impression that we would get the rest at specified times. The rest so far has not been delivered as was orginally promised...In my eyes that is breaking the orginal agreement and if people want their money back I think the company should do so.

The only reason you will get refund is

if the game fails to work, like from a bad code key (they will send you another)
if the game is cancelled. (not going to happen)
if the game is unplayable. (bugs are fixable)

but since it's just a delay for various reasons.
it's an episodic game that is made one episode at a time.
certification takes time for the consoles
    have patience..
do your research before buying in future..

you have already played ep1 alot by the sound of it and you have enjoyed it ? so asking for a refund is a little cheeky..don't you think ?

yes it's 'late' yes they said monthly but simple fact is the monthly statement never gave an EXACT date so they said planned monthly and now it says planned approximately monthly..

end of june it will be released..

I agree with you in regards to example, I agree that if it were one part of a series that the store wouldn't return the movie. However, that is why I'm going to the manufacturer. In your example, I would do the same. For a company to make a statement about a release date than they should uphold it. They are making a guarantee of sorts to their customers that they will uphold their commitment and deliver the product that their customers Paid in Advanced For.
Once again, I am not bashing the product itself, I am disappointed and angry with the false claim that the company has made to its loyal customers.

    Thank you for your opinion.
In regards to doing research, the research in which you are referring to is the release date. The release date was stated clearly. So there was no further research needed and I wasn't intentionally looking for a way to criticize the product.
As per this being cheeky, I really don't think it is. Had I paid for Episode 1 only than I would agree. However, I paid for a series. That series was to be delivered on a schedule Created by the developers. So considering that the schedule was delayed significantly than I feel that my and everyone else's desire for a refund is valid and appropriate.

Waaah it's a little late waaah.

Oh get a grip. You can wait an extra few weeks for a game to come out. And don't get me wrong. I am NOT a "TTG fanboy". There are several of their games I dislike. And you are simply being childish and impatient acting like this.

Just deal with it, and wait for the release.

I was promised content on a schedule and they failed to deliver. Whatever delays the console has does not affect me as I play it on the pc. I notice where they switched out one instance of "monthly" in their advertisement(though there is still another reference to it being monthly). The thing is when I purchased it I was promised monthly updates. This may protect them from all the new customers, but the old ones still have a valid gripe. This to me is a bait and switch....

"Hey guys buy our product we are going to update it every month for 5 months!"

"Oh now that you have bought it we don't think we will be able to do the monthly thing. But hey stick around we will keep you waiting without updates and it will be released at some point!"

    Horrible business practice....

Oh I understand, I saw telltale games facebook, and forums. Yeah monthly is monthly not when ever. And people on facebook said you know this is just gonna make less customers, and I believe that will. Im not trying to bash telltale but I know the truth hurts.

    Greetings,
I fail to see how I am being "childish." I am stating my opinion in regards to the situation. This isn't a thread about like/dislike about their products. As I mentioned previously I really enjoyed the game. As per your impatient remark, how much time would you consider a reasonable amount of time to wait? The game was due out in late May. Due to circumstances they had to delay it. Okay, how much of a delay are we talking? A week? 2 weeks? How long until you feel that the delay is too much?
Please read and understand what the thread is about before posting. This is a thread about an unreasonable delay in a product that was already paid for in advance and a failure to deliver said product. Also please try to take a stand on something without rolling over because your a fan of the company.

    you are missing the point..

they did not promise a monthly release they PLANNED to release monthly..

4 weeks longer, wow the worlds going to end !!

the rumour of certification with xbox and sony being the reason for the delay of the pc version is to reduce the flac about one set of customers waiting longer than the other..In episode one's case xbox users had to wait a day or two more than pc and ps3, and most of the related media where on fire by xbox users demanding the game...

so this rumour if true means once certification is passed all 3 formats get the game on the same day..

    merged now

Excuse me but you certainly are "missing the point" and "this Isn't the end of the world" As you so eloquently stated.
Please understand that this is a matter of business and how business works is that an organization sells a product and a consumer pays for said product. There are times when that purchased product comes into complications which causes a delay. This delay is thereby acknowledged to the buyers as being a break in their agreement (provided one was made, in this case a monthly release). This delay is with consequence to the manufacturer and the consumer is offered options as to how they would like to proceed with their purchase. In some cases the option of canceling their purchase and refund issued, a reduced rate is offered, or some other arrangement is made.
This situation is similar to others in regards to publishing to XBox, Playstation, or PC. Many organizations have had to scrap the idea of publishing to one of these medias due to circumstances with these carriers. This issue isn't unusual or unexpected, therefore they should have planned accordingly to handle it in advanced. Their failure to do so and to stop production for other medias is an example of their inability to follow through with commitments that were made (and Yes, stating a monthly release IS a commitment).

No really...You are missing the point they ADVERTISED monthly content. So yes that is as good as a promise. I don't care that they have gone back and changed their advertising now that it is biting them in the butt. When I purchased the product it was advertised as monthly updates. Like I said horrible business practices....

the 'wow the world is going to end' was sarcasm...cos the way people on here go on thats what it sounds like...

no i did not miss my own or ttg's point about monthly releases..i like some others knew what ttg procedure is and track record with episodic gaming.

You accuse me of being unable to read, and yet that is hypocrisy. I specifically said I was NOT a fan of Telltale. I enjoy SOME of their games, and that's as far as it goes.

And do you want to play a game if it's glitchy and broken? Wouldn't you rather a polished and fun game? That takes time. Time Telltale are taking. And time which is making you act like a moron.

And what is a reasonable delay? Whatever it takes to make sure the game is perfect. Telltale have stuck to the monthly regime before, and they released some buggy episodes, which feel like they could have done with a little more time to perfect.

You want your money back? Fine. You don't get to play any other episodes. This is certainly better for you! You didn't enjoy the first episode I assume, so I guess a refund is perfect for you.

"if the game is cancelled. (not going to happen)"

My question to that is, couldn't they then just keep saying they will release and it and then never do? What is the time limit?

My partner and I are on the "This is stupid, where's the next episode?" band wagon.

All I'm going to say is be patient.

Telltale have NEVER cancelled a series, and seeing how the Walking Dead has been perhaps their most successful, it would be idiotic of them not to release the other 4 episodes.
