PC or 360: Which Should I Get?

edited July 2012 in The Walking Dead
Which version of "The Walking Dead" should I get, the PC version or the XBLA version? Does it really matter which version I get or is one better then the other?

What AppleWorm said. I even read in other boards that people are having PC version problems so it your best bet to get the 360 version since I have the PS3 and have no problems.

    I'd suggest.. neither for now.

Wait until they have all five episodes out, and working properly. Then and only then should you spend any money for this.

I guess a lot of people have had issues with the PC version.... I haven't. First episode worked perfectly, and second episode fired up without any issue at all. All my decisions from episode 1 (saving Doug, etc) were carried over.

Never had a crash, hangup, or slowdown at all... I was able to max this game out easily with antialiasing on my GeForce 580m.

dont get the ps3 version because you'll end up deleted your saves after you attempt a 3rd game

I'm playing it on my mac, bought through steam. It's probably pretty similar to the pc version so here's what I say. No game breaking problems whatsoever, but in both episodes the cursor becomes very laggy sometimes. Instead of smoothy rolling across the display, it jerks along and makes you put twice the effort into moving it. I don't think the xbox version has that issue, so if you're comfortable playing on your xbox do that!

Lets see. PC version is $25, and 360 version is 400 live points which is equal to $5...Why is the PC version so much more expensive?

It's not, it's just the whole season at once instead of a single episode. So 5 episodes for $5 each equals the $25 you gotta pay for the PC version.

    $5 and episode.

PC players are buying all 5 episodes at once, while 360 players are only buying the first episode for that price.

In the end, people will be paying about the same price.

Ah I see. The advertisement on Steam said Episode 2 with a $25 price tag. Didn't even bother clicking on it to go to the game page.

I've heard the game (well, episode 2 at least) runs the worst on the Xbox 360.

I think it should depend on the specs of your PC. The 360 was released in 2005. To be quite frank, that's really old to be playing much of anything.

I'm playing it on a PC with a 2.4 Ghz Core2Duo processor, 256MB GeForce 8600M and 3GB of RAM. Vista gives my computer a performance rating of 4.6 (if that really means anything).

I have had minor issues with the game. A few stutters and glitches here and there, but nothing major, and nothing that really ruins anything. In fact, I was expecting a lot more problems because by computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements.

So assuming you have a decent computer, and you keep it clean of stuff that could eat up your resources, I would say go with the PC version.

Yeah it just takes you to the same purchase page as episode 1, you download the new episode from inside the game.

It runs just fine on my PC. Perhaps I've been lucky, but I haven't ran into any bugs so far.

I have never been so pissed off at a game before. But this, THIS is unacceptable. Every single PS3 user who started a 3rd game got all of their saves erased.

Runs the worst on the 360? Damn there really is no saving this piece of shit. Doesn't work right on xbox, PC users are having issues running it and their games are being messed up, and all PS3 players who started a 3rd save file get the nice little pat on the back of having all of our saved games completely ERASED. TTG really knows how to make em, fuck this company, I will never purchase another thing from them. I bit my tongue when the release date was 2 months late, I bit it harder when it was going to be released for PS3 last, EVEN HARDER when the game wouldn't play so I had to wait for a patch. All of that waiting aside, I still paid them $5 for this episode, and now all of my games are completely erased with no fix for getting them back. Telltale can quite literally go fuck themselves. I gave them a chance and they still blew it.

Played on PC which is below minimum requirements and no bugs at all, just clean gameplay with small lags between scenes when game is saving. I thought my netbook won't play it but to my surprise it runs smoothly on minimum settings.

Played on PC never had a problem.
I did the preorder for the game and then played it on steam.
But I heard many people ranting about bugs and glitches. When you buy it, just think of it "as a game" and whenever you encounter a problem, try posting on tech support and not ask for a refund, it's too mainstream.

OKay, so there are mixed feelings about this game. Some say go PC, other say go 360. If the game is bugged on both but will get fixed eventually, I'm more incline to go with the PC version as it's update a hell of a lot faster then the consoles (those who been with 360 for awhile will probably no what I mean).

So yeah, I will get the PC version, that way it'll be updated quicker then the consoles. Thank you all for your input.
