Email notifications on episode release?

edited August 2012 in The Walking Dead
Is there a way to get an email notification when a new episode is released? I'm a bit tired of checking Telltale's Twitter page and blog for the latest delays, so this would be a nice convenience.

If there is not, can one of the moderators here create a closed thread for this purpose that everyone interested could subscribe to? You could then add a new post whenever an episode comes out, and even add the latest proclaimed release date in an updated first post.

If you bought the PC version, you should indeed get a notification anyway. Consoles are a bit more difficult.

As soon as there is a release day, I usually change the name of the sticky "release date thread" to reflect the date. It isn't as smooth info as a subscribed to thread, but at least would serve as a one-look thing for you.

Alternatively, subscribe to the blog. It's the most official thing there is - and the very next blog post should REALLY be a fixed date for episode three...

Oh, thanks. Although I bought the season pass from the Telltale Store shortly after episode 1 was released, I never got a notification on episode 2. Do I have to subscribe to a particular newsletter in my account settings?

I think the episode notification can't even be turned off, but I'm not entirely sure there. In any case, you should put the telltalegames addresses on your e-mail provider's whitelist, because a lot of providers seem to think that this is spam.

Even if you're subscribed to newsletters and alerts and have the address whitelisted though, some people (myself included) have issues receiving emails from Telltale.

this is true. I dont always have internet at my disposal but i too wish i could get email or text as its much easier to check thru my phone. if telltale is gonna have this late problem continuously then they should do this. Proly way less bitchin if you knew youd get email/text when its released...food for thought;)

For the Steam version, you can just open the game and check status if you really want to avoid the forum and blog.

Yes, well, it should have been. The PR geniuses at TTG however, have compiled this exciting new blog post about their episode 2 plans for the iOS version.

Meanwhile, IGN got news -- apparently from TTG directly -- that the release of episode 3 is to be expected "next week".

Arrglll. I ordered this thing directly in the developer's store and paid in advance. It would be really nice to get any (helpful and correct) info from them, but apparently all video game companies fail at customer communication.

Would be nice if we could join a mailing list or some other way to be notified when the next episode is available, tired of looking at this fugly forum and the rest of TTG's information-less website.

Happeee, at the top of the page in the right hand corner, do you see a grey gear that says "settings" when you pass your mouse over it? If you click on that, you can subscribe to blog or news release updates to be sent to you.

I'm also pretty sure that you're already notified via email.
