Choices Matter!...?
sorry if there is already a thread for this discussion. i was simply curious what others thought the effects of some of the seemingly smaller choices may be...
for instance, when clem asks you about your past, you have the choice of saying its complicated, lying, or telling the truth. depending on your previous choices she may now be the only member of your group that knows your past. how do you think this will play out?
similarly, in the drug store carley "warns" you not to mention your connection to the store (you are the son of the deceased owners). you have a dialogue choice when talking to kenny and katjaa to tell them that your parents owned the store (i personally avoided this option (in all three saves)) but i wonder how the story plays and will play if you admit this info to them.
there are plenty of other choices that may drastically effect your game experience by the end, that i did not mention and more that i possibly overlooked. i am interested in you guys ideas, speculation, opinions and more potentially pivotal moments and choices...
(disclaimer: not a discussion of whether choices "actually" matter, but of the seemingly smaller choices that may have substantial impact)

glenn was a local and knew the owners of the store (your parents) so he could have and doug is a new local, though he claims not to get out much you never know.
but yeah i kind of didn't want everyone knowing i was a murderer considering i'm not even sure i am lol.
though in my first playthrough i am honest with clem and saved carley in case it does come up, in my other two plays, im not honest and got rid of carley
I personal think taking the food or not at the end of 2 will be a big deal later. For example, the folks find their car empty, find out you took their food and attack you maybe. Heck the car could even have belonged to the two new people showing up in Episode 3 (wouldn't that be funny?!) and them joining your group or turning on you depends on weather or not you stole from them, or stood up to the group because they were watching in the woods or they recognize Clem's new hoody as having belonged to a little sister or something who died while they were trying to look for their stuff after getting back with gas for their car. Just saying, as a writer, this is totally something I would have make a big deal later.
I also think Clem eating or not eating at the farm should come into play, maybe in a small way but it could be something major also, we'll see.
Or it could belong to the bandits...
yup, i keep hearing that lol.
but yeah, stealing from the car was pretty tough for me. the food, not so much as the hoodie. though i don't want clem getting cold or sick (not eating nor taking the hoodie), i don't want her to be a target by wearing someone else's hoodie.
i stopped clem from eating (mark) in all of my saves. i may go back once the series is complete (or if clem dies in the nearer future:eek:) and not save her everytime (dinner, the pharmacy, ect.) just to see how it plays out.
yea i pretty much don't expect to see the effects of my choices until the final installment, but speculating is pretty fun and insightful in the mean time.
i won't say when exactly in ep1, but clem can die and it's a game over...
