I am pretty sure I read somewhere that TellTale have already sent it into their distribution partners and are awaiting confirmation.I certainly hope so as I can not wait for this
As a rule no, I do not possess any inside information at all. I won't say it doesn't happen, but concerning release dates... well, the Telltale people with whom moderators have the honor to confer halfway regularly show the tendency to know zip about release dates themselves.
Again, the community beta test for episode 4 was on September 9th. I'd be thoroughly surprised if they needed a good deal MORE than a month counting from that Sunday, and I'd rather bet on LESS.*
Also, retail release is December 4th. All episodes must be out by then, preventing mob law.
*PSN NA and Microsoft certification processes included; SCEE possibly not, sorry!
So vain... If you should take your very best gues... is the game submittet for certification yet, and if so when do you believe that it happened?:)
I just can't stop thinking about "very very soon... perhaps even sooner than you think". I really hope it's sometime this week, although logic is telling me next Tuesday.
I have a feeling they are going to try for a release around the same time the new season starts. That way you watch the new episode on TV and then go play the new episode of the game.

would have been infinitely better if they actually had the timing correctly and the last episode of the game released when the season started
Hate to burst everyone's bubble -- and I'm as optimistic as the next guy -- but nowhere on the Internet is there any text that confirms episode four has been sent to any digital platform for verification. That doesn't mean it HASN'T, but I don't think TT has said one way or the other.
I think "this month" is a good enough estimate and it's a safe one at that. They know for a fact that it will be within this month, probably sooner than later, but do not want to commit to anything aside from that until they know for sure all their vendors are on the same page as well. As long as everything goes according to schedule with Microsoft, Sony, and the others, the game will most likely be here in early to mid October. Garry Whitta has really been hinting that the game will be here before the end of the month, so it should be here soon.

He actually keeps saying the game will be here "very, very soon" and "before you expect it" and so does Telltale, that's why I'm totally optimistic here and I'm guessing mid October or earlier
I'm sure they got their fill of hate mail when they advertised Monthly releases and discovered they couldnt comit to that. Understandable..
but why not " current status is........., estimated release around ......."
They tried that with episode 3. I started having conversations with a volleyball to stay sane-ish when they missed their mid-August target. I think I prefer the general anxiety of not knowing over the acute anxiety of a missed target.
Makes me wonder why TTG doesnt keep us even semi-updated on episode releases.. Not even exact dates, but let us know progress and ETA.
Yeah, didn't that work out just great on the blog the last time. Every announcement was greeted with the TWD fan base's great respect and mucho rejoicing.
Telltale's doing great in their announcements this time 'round. They'll be early and unexpected.
This release method is seriously getting on my nerves. It looks so unprofessionnal. Those "approx" release dates speculations. Why not give your public updates on what's going on???
Even on the episode 3 release date, I had to go search in the PS store because it was not downloadable from the game itself.
Telltale, you guys finally made a good game, congrats for that, but this distribution method is fucking "broche a foin"

The speculations are being started by the community not telltale, but yea i would've wanted a more organized schedule for the game.

Strongly dis-agree (with the first part ofcourse). Focusing on the release of episode 3, they numerous times said "mid-august", "soon", and even dating back to episode 1 "monthly". Obviously the community will get upset over this... it is only logical. It is a great game and when they promise it to be out and than that time period/date comes and goes, we have a right to be mad. It seems they just did this again with the trailer by saying "very very soon...faster than expected "(or whatever he said exactly). It is extremely unprofessional and if the game doesnt come out by mid-october get ready because this thread will be seeing the exact same posts it did as the last episode.
Speculations are started by the community only because TT keeps on baiting us in.
I'm surely starting to believe that we'll be getting this episode either on Friday, the 5th, or Tuesday, the 9th. They keep releasing images from the episode, and with the debut trailer and interview, it's not going to be longer than 2 weeks.
I think it was stated somewhere on this thread, but someone said that the release of the episodes are usually about a week or less after the release of the trailer for that respective episode. I don't know if there's any truth to that though since I don't know the dates of the previous trailers.

I apologize in advance and I know Im being that guy, but because this dude said "sooner than expected" why are we thinking this means "sooner than October 19th"? I mean I think we can all agree they arent the most professional when publicly talking about release dates... If someone has any concrete evidence I missed than please inform but after doing pretty extensive research there is absolutely not one reason why this will be coming out "soon". Trust me, I want it just as bad as the next person but I find it funny how everyone seems to jump on the bandwagon because one man says it will come out very very soon

Hej Kirby
Read the last 4-5 comments posted by vain. He does provide a few good arguments. Nothing conclusive, but I believe, that his guess is the best estimate, we can get right now (unless TTG want to say something).

I think TT might be finally getting the message. They are steering clear of release dates for now, but releasing screen shots, and trailers more than the other ep's to whet our appetites. This time around, I say kudo's TTG
Only when I'm allowed to laugh at the "later in October" voters.
What do you expect? The best predictors of behavior are previous actions. Lacking inside information, two months (i.e., the end of October), seemed like the best guess.

It bears repeating that I'm guessing just like everybody else. But:
(a) hell yeah and
(b) timely enough that they're expecting "word from their trusted partners" any day now.
would have been infinitely better if they actually had the timing correctly and the last episode of the game released when the season started
and I dont mean 2-3 days prior, but whats the harm in saying "planned to release in the week of...."?
Is like they want to keep it a secret, but why?
"we're shooting for ........"
something like that.
I'm sure they got their fill of hate mail when they advertised Monthly releases and discovered they couldnt comit to that. Understandable..

Of course.
Still, if everything was clear, no speculations would be made.

Doctor: "I'm Dr. Morgan, your health care provider. You have lyme disease."
Kirby: "Bah, what does one person know."
Eliza Dushku: "Oh, Kirby. I love you."
Kirby: "Har! Who would believe you!"
Kirby: "I feel good today."
Kirby's reflection: "Shut up, you!"
Eliza Dushku: "Oh, Kirby. I love you."
Kirby: "Aren't you married?"
I'll revise it to Jennifer Carpenter.

Optimism is the way!:D
A mistake no doubt. I can understand being skeptical about an early october release, but a december release is just plain ridicolous.
Which leads to episode 4 being released very, very soon!
I have a feeling it's coming out next friday. Despite having voted for this monday..
