Has no-one considered...
... the possibility that Kenny shot Katja? She didn't seem suicidal to me, infact she seemed quite logical about the whole thing and was intent on putting Duck down.
Was she carrying a gun?
Did she have one at any point?
Didn't she object to carrying one?
Kenny and Kat seemed to be in constant disagreement. I actually think it's more likely he killed her than not, thinking that seeing as his son is dead anyway, he'd be better off on his own.

Sorry but this topic has already been bashed to death.
If you say that Kat should shoot him (Or maybe Kenny... forget which one) she will go into the forest alone with Duck to say goodbye. Later, you hear a gunshot and when you and Kenny go to investigate she's killed herself.
Not to mention though, with everything that Kenny makes the group go through to protect his own family it would make absolutely no sense for him to kill her.
But he wouldn't shoot her in one scenario, while she committed suicide in another. If she committed suicide when she was alone, she committed suicide when she was with Kenny.
Kaatja shot herself because she couldn't bring herself to shoot Duck.
and no, If you choose ( I forgot the dialogue option) Kenny follows her in the woods.
If you choose another, He doesn't. SO Telltale wouldn't just change the entire plot of the game based on one dialogue option...
Tl;dr No.
Oh? She says that she would off herself before she offs her kid?
Oh, yeah I remember that bit. I never took the conversation further because she was always secondary to Kenny.
