Connection lost while downloading?

I'm trying to download Episode 4 and I keep getting a message telling me the connection was lost while downloading ... but I'm only at 0% ... and obviously my internet connection is working fine cuz I'm here! Is there a problem on Telltale's end that I don't know about?

Having the same problem. It gets to about 70%, freezes, gives me that message, and then goes to 60%. This has been happening for about 2 hours now. It one time got to 99% before freezing.

I wouldn't be so irritated if I could even get that much. I'll click Get and immediately at 0.0%, it tells me I have no connection. Never mind the fact that it already checked the connection once before even letting me into the menu screen.

It's really disappointing, especially since there hasn't been a word of support on the topic.

Well, that didn't work for me. Now the game opens in Window mode and asks me for my user name and password to unlock the game (like the first time I played Episode 1) and when I enter the info, the games locks up and doesn't go any further *sigh*

Which did you try specifically? I'm going to try manual downloading it the moment this fails again.

I downloaded all of the episode 4 files and put them in the folder ... didn't work for me. But, I removed all the files and opened the game to try it from there again and now the "get" button isn't there ... now it says "coming soon" so I'm thinking maybe TTG has pulled the episode until they fix the bugs.

It's still there for me. It doesn't work, but it's there.

And I just have to say, Telltale, I love this game, and I love this company, but for the love of god this is the worst downloading process I have EVER been through. I find it hard to believe you guys NEVER caught these issues when testing this, when it's happened to every single person I talk to about this game with, and it has effected them every single episode. Absolutely pathetic.

Connection lost while downloading... I get this message the moment the download starts
  • edited October 2012
Getting this now. I've gone up from "your account does not have this game liscence" (which I did, I bought the game) to "internet connection error". :/ Even if it downloads, maybe I'll just wait to ep 5 is out...

You guys are lucky, I'm still not able to download episode 3.
The download just quits on me around 90% every time.
I've sent my refund request to Telltale this morning, because I've tried every possible fix I could find on the forums, but nothing works.

Are we luckier? It means we have to play through another episode on top of what you have to. If this situation occurs where its months and there isn't a fix and I finally come to realize it.... its going to feel like a massive kick in the balls.

I have the same problem. I have tried manual downloading the files. It crashed on me once, after that it does not recognize the files anymore. The download does not even start. I will never pay for Telltale games again.

I have the exact same problem! It says 'connection lost' at 0%! I could handle last time, because even though the connection on the other episodes stopped downloading I just re-clicked and it eventually downloaded the episode. What's really pissing me off is that even though there's a lot of us with the same problem, TellTale is refusing to resolve the issue! They could even communicate with us to let us know what is happening, but no, they just sit on their arses and go, "DUHH?!" I so should of downloaded from Steam instead :( I'm sorry, I know I'm moaning but other than that, I think TellTale have done a really good job with this game.

Finished the manual install and it detected it as installed... now I've progressed to the walkingdead101.exe has stopped working bug... this is so ridiculous... every episode a new bug to work through... at least I've learnt my lesson, not doing this again.

doesn't do any good downloading it from steam, I have both I get the same Issue 0.0% and connection lost, then I went to steam updated everything and jumped in to play episode 4 and.... black screen episode no longer even loads and there is no help on the net for this topic, I'm frustrated as all hell. Any devs from Tell Tale... help us out here.

    "Hi,

I do apologize for this problem. We are aware that a small number of players are experiencing this issue, and we are currently investigating a solution. Please ensure you have a strong internet connection and are logged into your Telltale account before attempting the download again. Also, you can try connecting to another network.

    small number? ;)

It would be nice from the telltale crew to have empathy and respect for the customer and provide us a swift and user friendly solution for this problem. Maybe all of us should unite and demand them a solution in a harsher manner.

"you can try connecting to another network??" kinda joke???

I just bought the game right now and it won't let me download EP. 2-4. Just a conection lost error. What Gives?
  • edited October 2012
I have the same problem, my internet connection is fine, and the download still gives me the same message at around 30% "download Connection lost while downloading data. Please ensure you have a working internet connection and re-attempt download."
I too have never had any problems downloading the first 3 chapters. Please fix this Telltale, because we are clearly many frustratet fans at the moment.

Later...well now suddently it gives me the aforementioned message instantly when It reaches 10% download. Please help!

    Kind regards
    Mr.Andersson

"Small number". Such utter bullshit. I think there's a problem with their servers personally.
  • edited October 2012
Add me to the long list of paying customers that cannot download Episode 4 due to the connection issue.

Telltale Games: Please acknowledge the problem, post something somewhere to assure us that it is being addressed, or better yet, fix the problem. My confidence in your company has declined substantially! I have been a gamer for a long, long time and never seen a company treat such a major issue with such silence.

    Very disappointing!

    Yeah sure "small number"

Has anyone found a solution to this yet?! I have e-mail Telltale - NO RESPONSE -and have paid for all of these episodes in advance! Yet I'm having the same problem - download Connection lost! I've tried connecting to a different Wifi Network, I've tried rebooting my modem, nothing! This is so frustrating! I love Telltale's Games, but their service is Rubbish! Surely, as a group of paying customers, there must be something we can do here?!

Same problem here. Actually I can't download Ep 3 either. And I don't even get as far as some of you; it flashes 0.0% and then immediately displays the error. I've had this problem since Tues.

My internet connection is fine, and I had no problems downloading the first two episodes prior to that.

I'm pretty sure this is due to their servers being clogged with people trying to d/l Ep 4, and I understand that these things happen. TTG employees are just human beings who do work their arses off to provide us with great games and at the end of the day they go home to their families. But for the love of god TTG, at least acknowledge the issue! Are you just waiting for this to "blow over" or something?

Maybe we (the customers) can help out here. Could there be something specific about our internet providers that might cause this issue? Something we all have in common?

I'm logging in from Calgary Alberta (Canada) and my internet provider is Shaw. I'm on a wired connection. Anyone else?

I had a similar problem: my download failed at 0%. However, the manual workaround posted earlier worked for me.
  • edited October 2012
The manual workaround didn't work for me. I went through all of the steps, and then on the 2nd-to-last step where I have to click "get" again, it still displays the connection failure. Baffling! Especially the fact that apparently, my connection problems cannot be fixed by the same workaround that appears to have worked for everyone else.

has anyone had any luck yet or a reply from telltale with more information?
