I used the manual method described here

    http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33233

to download and innstall episode 4 on my PC but it didn't work :(

the game starts but some characters have become invisible while other character have no eyes!!!!

All I can do now is try to download it every day from the in-game menu and PRAY that one day it will work.

Sorry TT, the best game you've made will be the last one I'll buy from you, I mean it

Poor technical quality and no support (does anyone of the team read this thread? It's been up for two days now and still no official answer) isn't worth spending money

I haven't had any problems downloading the game until Ep.4.

But now I'm stuck with the same problem others have mentioned: an error pops up saying internet connection lost even though I'm connected.

The problem isn't simply with Episode 4. I renamed my folder for the game by adding Original) then uninstalled the game. Went to this website to my 'order history' and re-downloaded and installed the game. Launched the game and attempted to "GET" episode 2... 'connection lost error' as seen with episode 4.

Seems that TTG has somehow blocked those with season passes.

Just would like to add my name to this long list of paying customers who cannot download Ep 4. Like many others I will not be buying this format of episode releases again.

I gave the manual download a try, but it didn't work. Still so called connection errors at 0.00 %.

still cant download episode 4,some crap about internet connection.I just wasted my money

I got the same problems. Have been trying to download episode 4, but keep getting the no internet connection message. I've been getting the same with alle the other episodes, but at least the would dowload 60-80%, and then jump back 20 or so %, but then quickly download. Then i started a new save file, just to play The game again, and played to i got to the end of Hershels farm segment of Episode 1. When i played that save file again. The game just started over from The Beginning. And now i the game say's i don't have an account for the game.

I only bought the game about a week ago, so i haven't had the problems with delays and such, and i really like the game. But this is really getting on my nerves. Problems are fair enough, but that they tell us nothing about what is going on, is unacceptable.

    Still not working tonight

I am also unable to download Episode 4 due to the connection error issue. Very disappointed in the lack of feedback from Telltale on the problem.
  • edited October 2012
just tried and could finally download Ep 4, maybe TT fixed the bug.
  • edited October 2012
Doesn't work here either. Telltale, what are you doing?
  • edited October 2012
I'm sorry for the frustration many of you are feeling because of this issue. I've been playing TT games for a little while now and I can tell you that this is just par for the course with these guys.

After a while you just get used to it. It sucks because they're games are so enjoyable. I know everytime that something, somewhere is going to go wrong and I'll to do some weirdo download from somewhere else, edit my registry, hexedit a save file or something equally scary - just to play the game.

The funny thing is, complaining about it in the forums to them, is the epitome of uselessness. So, I'm going back to my beer and attempting again to download the files manually.

There is another post floating around that claims to fix the problem. The subject is "TWD: Inofficial workaround for instant "connection lost" issues" and the fix uses a couple of json files. When I download the zip file containing them, I get 2 empty files. :-/

Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. I can't try it.

I did try debugging the download using Network Monitor:

Client says Hello to the Server,
    Server says Hello to Client,
    Client initiates a key exchange,
Server issues a Cipher Change Spec,
    Client sends SSL application data,
    Server sends SSL application data,
    then...
the Server throws an Encrypted Alert for what looks like a Decryption Failure (HEX 15),
the Client throws an Encrypted Alert,
the TLS connection is terminated and frustration ensues.

The Decryption Failure Alert is a BAD thing: "Decryption of a TLSCiphertext record is decrypted in an invalid way: either it was not an even multiple of the block length or its padding values, when checked, were not correct. This message is always fatal."

What's the deal? Bad keys? Broken encryption/decryption algorithms? Incompatibility with the version of TLS on the Client side? (This is using a Windows XP SP3 machine.)

Come on TellTale... a little help here???

I will add my name to this long list of people who cannot dowload episode 4.
Very annoying to be made to wait while everyone else gets to enjoy it, I assume it will be fixed eventually?

If only I could wind the clock back, I would have gone with the Steam version. There was me thinking it was better to support the company by paying them direct! :(

Telltale, when you fix the download problems in three months or so by delivering the usual DVD set for shipping cost put a nice shirt or sth. the like in my box and we're good. Okay?:p

    EDIT
Look, I'm in stage three of loss and grief — bargaining. Coming up next: Depression. Can't wait for the Finale Grande of Acceptance.

You might have to do a manual download.

Worked for me. Me and my brother both had the same issue. :/

October 14, 2012 10:36 AM EST, still no fix :(

just adding myself to the list, i too purchased direct from the tale tell site and am in UK. when i click "get" it immediatley tells me i have no connection when i have.

not interested in the unnoficial fix through fear of losing my saves as some people have reported.

i did this afternoon manage to get it to start downloading, it got to 17% then done the same thing, now it gives the error as soon as i click "get" again.

really frustrating!! i see that tell tales facebook page is currently being spammed by disgruntled users, which is not suprising due to lack of acknowledment of this issue, I have had this disconnect problem with every episode so far but it usually gets there in the end. but this time it is much worse!

i guess ill try again next week then :o/

Add me to another person. I had 0 issues with the first 3 episodes other than PC gamers getting it later than console :/ Now I can't get it at all :(
  • edited October 2012
First 3 episodes worked fine. the 4th won't even begin downloading.
I wish Telltale would get this fixed, should have just bought it on steam .....
  • edited October 2012
This board isn't for problems getting the game running.

SAME problem HERE! Will not connect to install episode 4! I am connected to internet... WTF TT! Are we going to hear from you about this? WEAK!
  • edited October 2012
This is the email I got back from telltale support. Sure is super helpful...sarcasm.

    "Hi,

I do apologize for this problem. We are aware that a small number of players are experiencing this issue, and we are currently investigating a solution. Please ensure you have a strong internet connection and are logged into your Telltale account before attempting the download again. Also, you can try connecting to another network and/or resetting your router/modem.

    Thank you,
    Matt"

I moved this to game support.

Please have a look at this simple workaround for the instant "connection lost" issue.

It is less elaborate than the manual download, and helps in many cases.

Good news, this worked for me. Recommended to anyone who is having the same issue. :)

Worked great for me and it's really easy! My EP4 download needed to be restarted 5 or 6 times but it all finally came in, the game plays great! THANK YOU!!!!

I’ve not complained about TTG’s struggle w/ their promised monthly releases but this is ridiculous. Almost a week after the release of E4 and I still can’t download it. While I appreciate the effort of DjNDB posting the ‘simple’ workaround no way in hell am I trying it. Nor should I have to. Which leaves me dead in the water and very frustrated.

The official patch for the disconnection issue is out now. Restarting the game will download and install it automatically. Afterwards you should be able to download the episodes.
  • edited October 2012
still not working here, didnt see a patch install either. although it got up to 47% this time then done the connection error again :/
  • edited October 2012
Still getting connection error message after trying everything I found on here/support. Even re-installed and got nothing to show for it. Been waiting to play episode 4 for awhile now even though I've ran into spoilers. Can this been fixed please?
