Lee's bite might be a scratch depending on what you did?

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
Did you go for the walkie right away or did you check the place where the Walker hides?

he'll attack either way but on my second playthrough i didnt notice him bite Lee like when i went for the walkie the first time..

what do you guys think?

Could be but this would be childish sense it looks the same either way.

The injury looks the same, but it's definitely different in the manner of how the walker attacks.

My first playthrough, I went straight for the walkie and was bitten on the wrist.

My second playthrough, I went to the board, and it sure looks like it was just scratched.

As per the Walking Dead Wikia: "Zombie bites are not how the "infection" is spread. Instead, zombie bites and saliva cause infections that are 100% fatal."

So if it's a scratch, it's POSSIBLE that Lee could still survive. As far as I know, a scratch from a walker has never been addressed in the comic or television series, so there's still a chance. I've read through issue 101 in the comic, and can not remember an instance where someone was only scratched by a walker, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

    Yeah hope...

Hope there is still one bullet for you in that gun.

I always thought a scratch was just as bad. Its still serves to activate the virus in a sense, does it not?

From everything we've been presented in The Walking Dead universe, it's the saliva of a walker that makes the virus 100% lethal, as I quoted above. We have no previous history, that I know of, of scratches in this would.

Everyone is already infected, the bite just kills you.

Mainly because of bloodloss and sanitary reasons.

There is no chance that Lee is going to survive. He's almost as dead as Larry, Carley, Doug, Duck, Kat, and Chuck. Give him a few more hours, he'll keel over.

A bite speeds up the process.

he gets bitten in both situations. Sure the fight with the zombie is slightly different when you go for the boards first but both scenes end in lee getting bitten

I went to check behind the board in my game and didn't notice the zombie bite until it panned onto Lee's wrist. They look like mere scratches to me, personally.

But this is The Walking Dead. People die. There is no way for them to dance around it if they want to remain faithful to Robert Kirkman's work. If it is a lethal bite, Lee will die. With scratches, I don't know; there might still be hope.

    Is hard to tell!

I believe he was bitten and will die/turn eventually..

Just makes me wonder if this scene was designed like this..

Did TellTale make this to look questionable or was it just kinda poorly animated scene?

I'm not holding out that Lee will be fine, I think he's doomed, but if you look at that scene again, after the zombie bite.. Lee picks up the talkie, then the hat and notices blood on it, then see's the bite on his wrist.. Is like he didnt even realize he'd been bitten til he saw it.

Makes ya wonder if he'd actually been bitten! Looks like teethmarks, but was it a true bite or just marks? Is just enough to make me question it!

Just re-played the scene where you investigate the trash bin instead of the walkie-talkie. The zombie still chomps on your wrist.

Sorry, folks. Lee is 100% fucked.

Wishful thinking here, boys and girls. Lee is bitten and there is absolutely no way he's going to survive Episode 5.

It was a graphical error I think. I found a few glitches in Episode 4. There is also one where you are targeting Zombies (when Clementine is surrounded) but you can only kill a few of them. I was not able to kill more than 2 or 3. After I dropped those three I was just throwing ammo at their heads but none of them dropped, then Chuck jumped in. I think the fear was that a quick shooter could make quick work of the zombies before Chuck could "Save the day" so after you kill the first few the others become "invulnerable"

I noticed a few other weird glitches in episode 4 as well, but no deal-breakers. The end result is that Lee has a bite mark on his wrist. So he's a dead man.

I remember an episode of the TV series where this was addressed. In the second season when they are taking that kid away from the farm in the trunk of the car, Rick and Shane find two walkers on the ground but no apparent bites. Rick points out that they both have scratches. Maybe there was a bite that wasn't seen, but the show was definitely trying to make the viewer believe that scratches are also lethal. Anything where the skin is broken and infected flesh gets under the skin of live flesh is lethal.

That's not a glitch, it's a railroaded sequence. TTG wanted to kill Chuck and a quick shooter could have ruined that scene, so they decided that you can only kill a very limited number of walkers.

A bite mark and Lee's words after checking his wrist is no graphical error. He is bitten. Railroaded sequences ftw!

Shane was questioning why he couldn't see any visible marks on the walkers, they passed it off as "maybe it was just scratches then" or something along those lines.
Only person in the group that knew you could turn without being bit (at that point of the show) was Rick.

I looked at the trash first, and my first thought was that it bit Lee....

Then I thought he was alright.

Then he looked at the bite....

Then came the "awww shit" moment.

Hah, it's telltale. I thought it was a step up in terms of animation, I knew something was about to happen when I saw that.

When I first played, I investigated the trash first. When Lee discovered the bite, I was flabbergasted because I didn't really see it.

Then I replayed the sequence. What I found was that, regardless of your choice, the zombie will still chomp Lee's wrist. It seems at first that Lee avoids any serious damage because the plywood shields you, but if you watch Lee's left (he gets bitten on his left wrist) you will see that the zed still latches on.

Sorry, folks, but you must face your virtual mortality.

I do believe that he simply got scratched. By the walker's teeth.

I have read every comicbook issue twice, and watched both seasons at least six time. so of course when i saw a walking dead season card hanging in game stop i had to buy it. little did I know I would have to wait soooo long with just hearing, "we dont know when its coming out." and then when it does it would just piss me off. you know i got over it being everything i hate in a game, no control over camera or speed and the lame choices you get in conversation; or the fact that i couldnt save carly. and i know whats going on but never have the choice to say it. I will play episode five be just as disappointed in it and probably never play another telltale game again for destroying my chance to have an awesome walking dead video game. maybe you should take a page from katjas book and say my baby is dead and shoot yourself in the face

lees gonna die dont kid youselves if he would have immediatly said sombody chop my fucking arm off it might have happened like dale:D
  • If you look closely at the bite you can see teeth marks in it. When I played through I went straight for the Walkie talkie without hesitation. I don't know if there's a difference if you look through the things first. But I really wish lee didn't get bitten he's my absolute favorite character.

  • Whyyyyyyyyyyyy
