If you could save 1 person who would it be?

edited January 2013 in The Walking Dead
I know I already made this thread but it didn't have all the options it should have had---so here is it updated. If there is someone that isn't on here then leave it in the comments and I will put you in as a "write in" vote. Here is the same thread but with no option for Lee, so you can choose who you would save otherwise: https://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=748683#post748683

Well I might as well tell mine:

1. Lee
This is probably one of the saddest deaths ever. And knowing I will have to start over in season 2 is just annoying and heartbreaking at the same time. I obviously like him the most because he is me.
2. Carley
She is hot and a great addition to the group. I probably got more mad at her death than anyone else's.
3. Kenny
He was always my right-hand man and had good intentions. He became sort of an asshole, but then became good again later, and by the end, I was really mad at his death.
4. Mark
He was a good guy, and probably would be higher if we could have seen him more. Seemed like a friendly person, and he even helped you as a walker.
5.Doug
While I like Carley better, he was a nice guy and could have been useful in the long run.
6. Charles
Didn't get to know him that much but he was cool. His death was also more sad than I excepted.
7. Duck
Nice kid, a little annoying, but nice.
8. Ben
He was an idiot but he had good intentions and I really felt bad for him.
9. Katjaa
Never really cared for her.
10. Brie
Didn't know her enough to give a shit.
11. Larry
Fuck him.

I will list my thoughts on this, because fuck I'm bored anyway

Lee - Well, duh. Obviously, since he is basically me. I controlled him and his actions so I identify with him of course I want to save him first..
Carley - hot Chick, and useful aswell with her gunskills. Definately up there.
Doug - sorry bro, he's cool and all but not on my priority list
Kenny - Naw. He lost his entire family anyway, even when saving him he stays grumpy and depressed (understandably so!).
Katjaa - No sorry. Kind person and usefull nursing skills but not really standing out and never really showed distinguished personality.
Duck - Naw, annoying kid and not smart either.
Mark - Pretty up there, after Lee and maybe on par with Kenny. Seemed like a cool dude
Ben - No way. Immature kid who endangered us more than enough times and shows he can't handle crucial situations (like leaving clem to die).
    Larry - hell no
Charles - Meh, maybe. He was alright, not on my priority list
Brie - don't care about her.

I said Lee in the last thread, this time I'm voting Carley in the hopes that things turn out way better with her around.

I pretty much agree with you except Kenny

    1. Lee
I'd want him to live just so he could stay with Clementine.
    2. Carley
She's a favorite, good shot and attractive. One of the more likely to survive survivors, she'd make a good substitute for a caregiver for Clementine.
    3. Katjaa
Although she's usually forgotten, I actually really liked Katjaa. She's not as powerful as Carley, nor attractive, but she's more motherly. Would have been good for Clementine if she lived. She was one of, if not the, most devastating deaths for me.
    4. Duck
He's just a kid, no kid should have to go through what he went through.
    5. Charles
      "You deserved better old man."

If it weren't for this man Clementine wouldn't be able to survive following Lee's death. He'd probably be the best person to ask advice for in a zombie apocalypse, he just seems like a kind of man who'd have an answer to anything.
    6. Doug
It would have been a fun side plot, assuming he survived episode one in my game, to try and give him bro advice on how to hook up with Carley. I'm doubtful that he'd survive that much longer following his death in episode three because he's not much of a fighter and his technology knowledge wouldn't help at all in Savannah.
    7. Kenny
Although he was a good friend, for the most part, he went through hell. It'd probably be for the best if he died to be with his family. Although if he did survive, he'd be a good companion to have for Clementine following Lee's death.
    8. Mark
Didn't care for him. He was a good friend but his sudden introduction and then his sudden departure just served to make me not care for him.
    9. Brie
      Didn't care for her.
    10. Ben
Although I liked him, he'd make a terrible companion for Clementine following Lee's death. He'd continue to get the group into trouble, get Clementine in trouble. After everything he had done, he kind of deserved to die (I know that sounds horrible).
    11. Larry
Are you kiddin' me. Only good that would come out of him is that it would continue to create that Lee / Larry feud (I thought it was nice) and perhaps make a way better final antagonist then Stranger.

He probably would've got the train working a lot faster, as well as being able to help with the boat. I guess he would try and become less of a deadweight over episode 4 and 5.

I hadn't even thought of that, well done! Although getting the train started faster wouldn't really help that much, only effect it may have is that the group may have taken the train and left before Chuck even gets back. Helping with the boat would probably not have helped either considering the invalids steal it regardless.

He'd pretty much a sitting duck in Crawford though. It's actually quite possible that he'd join Lee and Molly to find the car battery because, similar to Vernon, "he knows what to look for." There's, unfortunately, like no way he would have survived the trip (I can't see Doug being capable of parkouring across roofs and such). He'd probably die when Lee and Molly go up into the skylight, don't think he'd make the jump. It's equally likely that he'd just stay with Ben though.

That's point. Season 2 won't be the same without him... Damn... With or without arm... i don't care... But he was perfect character.

Carley - Attractive woman who's good with a gun, has a level head on her shoulders, and who is also loyal.

What more could a person want in a sidekick?

    1. Lee: He's my bro, we would have not always agreed, but he's been there for me, and he would have not died if I was in charge of the game!

    2. Carley: She's hawt. (Dont tell Kat.)

    3. Doug: He's a chubby nerd, and that's why he's awesome.

    4. Lol

    5. Katjaa: Obvious answer.

    6. Duck: ^

    7. Mark: His food and military food saved our asses until the f*cking St. Johns showed up.

    8. Ben: :P

    9. Larry: WTF LOLWUT no.

    10. Charles: Like Lee said.

    11. Brie:Why is this an option?

    1. Lee. He's the protagonist, end of story. There's a reason many people chose to cut off their arm.

    2. Chuck. What's that, we stole your home some water, and immediately assumed you to be a useless hobo, but then you give everyone candy, provide life-saving advice, and fend off a horde of zombies so everyone else escapes unharmed? Hell yeah, I'd try to save you.

    3. Carley/Doug. Both were solid, and provided a big advantage to the team in general. Also, unlike SOME characters, when your love interest died (each other), you didn't spend an episode and a half moping about it, unlike, I dunno, everyone else.

    4. Ben.If anyone could teach him to nut up and just kill Walkers, he'd be the most physically capable member of the team. Still, it's an annoying "if".

    5. Kenny. A good friend, but a borderline suicidal friend that becomes near useless the moment the boat plan goes south

Katjaa, Duck, Mark, and Brie felt superfluous initially, and I never knew any of them enough to think them worth saving in the end of it all, given the other options.

    Lee, straight up.
  • edited December 2012
Lee, of course! If he didn't die, Clem wouldn't be alone and traumatized (as much as she is now)!
  • edited January 2013
    1. Katjaa. I know she not the prettiest, nor all that useful, but if she had not killed herself, who knows where Kenny would be now?

    2. Kenny! It's funny, I refuse to play a Pro-Lilly playthrough because I don't want to see that side of Kenny. He can be a real d*** if you aren't on his side. Though, I'm not sure I would save him, it's hard to say, practically everyone he cared about died. So... :/

    3. Duck. Yeah, he was the most annoying kid ever, and I may or may not have had a glint of gladness in my eye when I shot him, but he's a kid. No one should have to go through that. Can you imagine his last moments? He saw his MOM shoot herself over him and then his father break down and then you get your brains splattered everywhere, or you're left to turn? Plus, he thinks I'm incredibly awesome.

    4. Carley. No suprise here! Although, I don;t see her as a good mother to Clem, just a chick who can shoot. Really well.

    5. Lee. BECAUSE HE'S ME AND...i'M INCREDIBLY AWESOME. Don't believe me? Ask Duck!

A lot of you are ranking Katjaa lower then you should.

She has medical experience (Vet maybe but better than most)
    She is very kind
    She is realistic
She is one of the few level headed people in the group
She is focused on keeping morals and staying 'human'

I'd say aside from the medical experience, she was the much needed "Dale" character the group lacked in later episodes.

Good character with a lot of unseen potential taken out before she could shine.
