If you had to choose between Mark and Carley...

edited January 2013 in The Walking Dead
If you had to choose between Mark and Carley instead of Doug and Carley in the Drugstore, who would you choose? (And Mark would be Mark, and not an IT guy)
I personally would choose Mark.

Who would you choose?

    Carley.

Because at the time you meet Mark, you've gotten to know her - where Mark is just "some dude with a lot of food".

But - if you mean in Macon - then still Carley - because Mark would be in Doug's place and it was REAL stupid to back up to a window like that.

I would choose Mark because he's cute (kinda hot too) and because I'm gay. LOLZ. Doug wasn't............so hot.

And what the hell happened to Doug then?
  • edited December 2012
    Definetly Mark.
  • edited December 2012
    Mark, I saved Doug :D

Mark obviously. He was such a good character, but died too soon. I wouldn't want Carley to die by getting her legs chopped off though, ugh.

Carley. She was a good shot with her pistol and very useful. I would still choose her over Mark.

    Carley.

She was with the group since Macon, and there was more time to get to know her. Also she's a crack shot and good in a fight against zombies, whereas the only shot we see Mark take is a miss. Carley seems more useful.

I prioritize the safety of women and children, which is mostly why I chose Carley over Doug in chapter one. So I'm sure I'd have chosen Carley over Mark just as easily. I did like both Doug and Mark, though.

    Carley.

Mark, because he was in the military/air force, could've use the experience.

    Mark.

Wish we could've gotten to known him better, like Chuck...

    Carley.

I thought Mark was a bootlicker.

    Mark of course!

I've said this alot, but here we go again...
Why do women get special treatment over men? Your telling me if it was Doug that was the woman (bit awakward.. .__.), you would of saved Doug?
Anyway, Mark, cause I saved Doug, and apart from knowing your past, Carley is still useless to me.

Well, women can be used to repopulate the earth.

I feel bad for saying that.

Mark was like Ben IMO: trying to help out, but utterly failing in most attempts. Carley would get saved, no questions.

you know, women are more than your breeding machines.

what if that woman turned out to be a lesbian? would you rape her and justify it, by saying we "have to repopulate Earth."

    watch 28 days later.

he was in the chair force; others said that means it was an office job.

    so, no "military training" actually.

(which makes sense. he missed the bird.)

I love how you have a hard-on for that single shot. Sometimes people miss their targets. It happens. A bird is neither a walker, nor a bandit with a frickin' huge torso.

    Carley. She has boobs.

a bird is about the size of a head, though. ;)

he was SO SURE he could hit it. that's what got to me the most. well, that and his high-school gossiping way about him.

When Kenny spoke to Lee about the group's issues, it came across as two men talking. When Mark did, it kind of came across as a high school chick.

    Mark cuz he's awesome

Mark was one of those characters you introduce just to have someone to kill off. So Carley, especially since she's a reporter like me.
  • edited January 2013
Carley, because she and Lee would've made the relationship between each other a lot bigger. :)

I never thought that. Thus, I said "I feel bad for saying that". It was asked why Women would possibly get special treatment. I gave the only possible reason I could think of. Which happened to be a very vile and despicable thing. The worst part is that it has been voiced on the forum before.

Not to mention that it is kinda dumb. Babies would bring walkers and bandits with its screaming, and without the proper medical supplies you might lose a woman in child birth. While babies are cool and all, I would much prefer to have a strong fully grown woman than a baby.

So, I don't view women as breeding machines and I don't plan on raping any lesbians any time soon. Sorry.

I like Mark. But I'd still go with Carley. She's a woman... I can't let her die.

    fair enough.

Unless Mark did something drastically different from Doug in the first Episode I'd still pick Carley. Even if Mark had a gun too I'm still leaning towards Carley because she saves everyone's lives outside the pharmacy and then in the store saves either Lee or Clementine's life, all before you even learn her name, and apparently in full defiance of what Lilly and Larry wanted.

Then there's the fact she knows Lee's past. I guess that's suppose to make me like her less, but I really appreciated her being direct and honest with Lee. She could have used it to threaten Lee, saying she'd tell the others if he did something she didn't like (like Larry does) but she gives him the benefit of a doubt and warns him to be careful about his past so as not to create another problem in an already bad situation, which also showed me she was pragmatic.

Now if it was between Kenny and Carley (in the first episode), that would be a hard choice for me. I'd probably have to go for Kenny, I'd hate to think I'd leave Duck without a father or Katjaa without her husband. :(

    Still Carley.

I liked all three of them (Carley, Doug and Mark). All nice people, so i'd always feel bad about it (like i do about Doug), but in a crisis i'd rather have Carley on my side. Carley vs Mark is actually probably an easier decision than Carley vs Doug.
  • edited January 2013
With no doubt Carley, this was an easy choice lol.
  • edited January 2013
Carley definitely as she always had my back and was a wicked good shot to boot...It helps that Lee has near magical abilities when it comes to putting batteries in slots as well, so as a team they cancel out each others faults quite nicely...

Carley saved my life. Twice. (Or possibly 4 times, if you also count the dairy and motel, but if we're talking the same pharmacy store scene, but with Mark replacing Doug, those don't count) She also saved Clem (everyone's favortie character), Kenny (my bro 4 life) and Kat and Duck. Gun + Heroics - Battery Knowledge > Clerk + Glasses + Redshirt.
  • edited January 2013
I choose Doug, you insensitive bastards.
  • edited January 2013
Even if this was back in the pharmacy, I would still save Carley because she saved me, Clem, Katjaa, Kenny, and Duck.

If this was later, I would still save Carley because I know her better. As someone else pointed out, Mark is basically a redshirt character that we don't get to know well. Nothing against him.

I was a Doug guy and I'm not sure about Carley and Mark

Mark was quite nice and likeable whilst I found Carley untrustworthy and a bit shifty
    and she knew our secret...

Still Carley is more useful than Mark
    So Carley I guess

Mark.Bitch please,I don't care if some-one can shot better,we'll die someday anyways so why not Mark (#YOLO).And he was awesome,I'd be glad to know him better. Also,if Lilly kept them on regular training then he would'a been a crack shot in no time ;)

It's what Mark shouted while the St. Johns were chopping his legs off.
