Well, I'm disappointed as now we know why Telltale is taking long to get Season Two, and The Wolf Among Us out.

I DON'T want to see Telltale trying to make three games at once...

  • ^ Agreed!!!
    Now it could take longer,,,

  • Hahaha. I know right, I hope they release this one after finishing all TWD and TWAUS episodes. Releasing this simultaneously with the two popular games, it won't be as popular I think..

3 games in 2014? Really? This is insanity. How many times do we have to replay your games to bridge that GINORMOUS gap between your upcoming games?

@puzzlebox ...What are you people at Telltale thinking?!

You already have trouble with TWAU, and have TWD:Season Two around the corner... And now you want to start another game? Take one thing at the time. We, your customers DON'T want to wait three months for TWAU and TWD:Season Two episodes.

  • I love telltale but this is insane...
I feel like it's possible this community could become all about borderlands (which I have zero interest in) :(

  • Nah, it will take 400 days to bridge the gap of Season 1 to Season 2. LOL Just kidding :)

They said 400 Days would bridge the gap. Yea right.

  • They said 400 Days would bridge the gap. Yea right.

  • That is disgusting.. :p

At least we're getting news in a few days.

  • people calm your tits, ttg say 2014 but no seasonal time frame right ?

so that could mean literally anytime next year, so lets be a bit more sensible here hmm ?

i reckon at the earliest we'll see it is around september / october that gives them 8-9 months to get twau and twd s2 sorted. 4 episodes every 1.5 to 2 months. then allow them a holiday/break to rest up.

  • Telltale are being impulsive right now...

  • Oh no,I don't mind Game of Thrones,but Borderlands??
I mean,as long as their quality is as high as TWD/TWAU,I will be satisfied.
I certainly don't want them to start spiting games out with no real quality.

  • Telltale actually has small teams handle early game design prior to having large amounts of resources used to design a game. Don't worry; these two games are not going to have any notable effect on TWD or Wolf.

    how so ?

they have previously, announced licenses / whats next for them whilst doing another game/games.

    g.o.t is popular

borderlands has a story but still has periods of silence/ no story/ funny dialogues (but the screams of your victims) in between way points.

i wonder if ttg have been roped in to make a 'prequel' for borderlands 3 characters ? since we are 'meeting' new characters who want to be vaulthunters, and gearbox are a bit busy planning new dlc stuff and the third game its's self and to give fans more stuff to do in the universe why not have another developer make it ?

    seems logical to me,

  • I can't see the angle with Borderlands, I just can't, its a popular FPS by Gearbox, Telltale makes point and click adventure games, how do those two mix? Even if you make a point and click Borderland game, why? The whole point of Borderlands is to kill things and get better guns, that does not translate into point and click, and not having that system will not make it feel like a Borderlands game. Borderlands intentions were never to have a amazing story anyway, I am sure they can do well but the choice seems odd when there are so many other games that are more fitting.

This. The Game of Thrones has a lot of potential since you can really focus on character development and plot twists.
But Borderlands? If Tales from Borderlands will reduce the quality of GoT,cancel it.I'd much rather see GoT release next year then a shooter turned into a point and click.

same way twd worked ? a zombie game but not a shooter ? oh noes people cried it can't possibly work can it ?

well goty and other plaudits plus the fan love of the game certainly proved that silly whining wrong..

so to elaborate a bit further:

the borderlands by ttg game will be story driven with action scenes both twd/twau style and something new and great to give us a bit more interaction and immersion like the fps borderlands we have now, it will 'hopefully' give us more insights into current characters who keep on returning like marcus and moxxi, scooter/ellie etc etc..

for those people put off by the rpg elements ( i wasn't sure about borderlands 1 at first) or the steep difficulty at the start of the games or even the constant need to change skills/guns etc to keep the fight going.. this game will be about the characters and a story maybe with some form of loot system where we can choose what we take/use but alot simpler and easier to do quickly ? I thought since they showed handsome jack i'm wondering about the timeline..those who have completed b2 will know what i mean..

I can't see the angle with Borderlands, I just can't, its a popular FPS by Gearbox, Telltale makes point and click adventure games, how do tho

I can't believe I sat through the entire VGX show in hope for Telltale saying.. something regarding our current games.

  • Actually it's based on the show since they are working with HBO.

  • I guess with the announcement of thoose games next year, we had no chance of seeing a wolf among us S2 or TWD S3 anytime soon.

  • seriously people...

the only reason why twd s2 /twau ep2 is not out yet is because they are not ready for release/waiting on confirmations/ they found game breaking bugs/ playtesters weren't happy with something...

these announcements have nothing to with it... quit talking rubbish....

  • Why all this hate? Borderlands is a great idea, some absolutely amazing characters, such an interesting world and Telltale crafting it with Gearbox tools! I feel this will show case the dark humour of Telltale games! GoT will be great but I feel it's only been announced now because of the rumours, don't expect anything for a while, seems like it was meant for an E3 release, but will be great! Along side the awesome Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us 2014 will be the true year of Telltale! So hype!

  • Why must the developers kick us in the balls?! No Fallout 4 announcement, no Dragon Age Inquisition news, no TWD season 2 news, just Borderlands and Game of Thrones. I'm cool with these games as long as the have priorities for TWD and TWAU or else I will be very pissed off if they want to work on 4 games at once.

  • You guys have to keep in mind we are getting news next week on Season 2. A few more days won't kill you.

  • Clearly the priority is for the games currently in the process of coming out. lol. I mean, they haven't even solidified what they're doing for the GOT story and I don't believe they're very far into their ideas of the Borderlands stuff. I'm nearly 100% that 2014 means late 2014 (if not 2015 due to wanting to really work on it more).
As for the other stuff, the only reason anyone even thought FO4 would be announced is the fake website some Polish person set up. DA:I hasn't gotten to another "we have something big to reveal" point yet. TWD season 2... Well it would have been nice to see a release date, but you know how Telltale is. xD
Quite honestly, it didn't seem like anyone really went all out with the VGX (why they changed it from VGA, who knows).

Why must the developers kick us in the balls?! No Fallout 4 announcement, no Dragon Age Inquisition news, no TWD season 2 news, just Borderlan

  • The Walking Dead franchise had already established that it was not like other zombie franchises. Telltale making a game for that IP made a lot of sense.
Borderlands, on the other hand, is a fun shooter that focuses on combat. I'm willing to give Telltale the benefit of the doubt but I think the majority of us will remain skeptical until we see reviews.

I agree, they are currently in the planning stages and should have no impact on the release of The Walking Dead Season 2 premier or The Wolf Among Us E2. Everyone needs to calm down, worst case scenario is there might be delays towards the end of the seasons if they are working on new games and don't have enough staff to cover them all.

seriously people... the only reason why twd s2 /twau ep2 is not out yet is because they are not ready for release/waiting on confirmations/

  • notably i think your missing something,

if twd s1 can change the zombie genre into something more than just shooting stuff, why can't tales of the borderlands change the fps genre on the whole ?

in this current call of duty boom people are waking up to the fact of how shit cod games are..

The Walking Dead franchise had already established that it was not like other zombie franchises. Telltale making a game for that IP made a lot

  • seems like some people are close to it...

We're definitely approaching the point where the FPS genre needs to be re-invented to survive. I just can't see Telltale making a shooter in any sense of the word. Their strengths are in character design and choices rather than gameplay.

edit: I also want to make it clear I don't think Telltale is making a shooter. I think they're making a TWD/TWAU style adventure game in the Borderlands universe. It's that transition from the FPS Borderlands games to this that I find difficult to think possible.
