Wellington
Anyone want to venture where Wellington is?
Wikipedia has a list of all the Wellingtons in the United States. None of them seems to fit like a glove. Most are so tiny that no one who doesn't live there would be likely to know they exist.
Its someplace further north, someplace colder, someplace that would take a couple of months to get to on foot from South Carolina (which appears to be where they are now)...
Anyone want to guess?

Tavia's encampment probably. Well, maybe they don't know it's specifically that, but I think it may end up being their destination.
That fits what it is, possibly, but not where it is. There's no Wellington in Georgia or South Carolina.
Looks back at Season 1, then looks at Episode 5's name. No Going Back
...a pipe dream.
If you look around the campsite with Christa you'll find a North Carolina license plate and with me being from North Carolina this was a welcome cameo. However, I haven't heard of any Wellington in North Carolina, there's a Wilmington which is by the beach but I don't think she meant that.
Virginia, maybe?
Yea, I think Wellington is the settlement that Tavia was recruiting for.
It might be named after a person rather than an actual town as well, like Crawford.
Wellington is in Kentucky.
Someone on reddit told me this:
Of course, we don't know that they're following the highway, but if they are, then it checks out. If they're not, then they could be just about anywhere.
We know that Clementine is currently in North Carolina due to that license plate at her and Christas' camp.
There's a Wellington in Kentucky ....
Does it have to be in the United States? I'm just spit balling here but, Canada is North.
Could be Wellington Ohio.
Only a village, but Christa wasn't a big fan of cities anyway.
Oh there's a civil war memorial in Wellington, Maine.
Could be Omid took her there on their road trip.
I think Wellington, Ohio actually makes a lot of sense since they're headed North.
Edit: For some reason the image wasn't showing up anymore, so I uploaded it to photobucket. Click on the link to view the map.
">On the Road to Wellington
I agree with onmens because omid was in to history as they said in episode 3 season 1
They aren't heading to Wellington because Christa has been there before, they're heading there because word is spreading that Wellington is a safe place for survivors. Christa says something to the effect that she and Clem heard it from other survivors, so it could very well be any Wellington that's to their north. I'd guess that it's the one in Kentucky, because we'll probably be going there eventually if it's Tavia's community, and if Season 1 is any indication, the group won't be travelling all that far.
Good thing Clem wasn't using apple maps.
All she says, I think, is that people say it's better up north because of the cold. (walkers are slow in the cold, or freeze I'm guessing)
She still could have picked Wellington because she's been there before, or because Omid wanted to take her there.
It's kind of romantic actually.
You have no idea where to go except that it has to be north. Why not pick a place where the love of your life always wanted to go, but never got the chance to before he died.
My face seeing how far Clementine has to travel...
i think that tavias base or whatever is wellington and im hoping clementine makes it!!!
I don't know, in season one Christa wasn't too fond of groups of people. And in season two, if Clem tells Christa they need to look for a group, Christa goes into a rant about not being able to trust anyone.
It's hard to believe Christa would go looking for a settlement.
there is no way you could walk from savannah to ohio in a couple of months...
If i remember correctly Lee said his wife somewhere in Virginia, maybe we gonna met him.
Who says they were planning to walk the entire way?
Actually, the distance from South Carolina to Ohio is only 750km or 466 miles (in a straigth line)
Easily doable on foot in two-three months.
Oh lake Erie ist not far away.
Kenny confirmed for season 2!
fair enough... survivors are still using vehicles (car train boat etc.). I guess I just assumed that they had to walk because of Clem and Christa's situation while trying to start the fire... at that point they seem to be at an all time low, so I assumed that they did not have any type of vehicle. not knowing where they actually are or how they even got there, there is a good chance that they might be pretty close to ohio already, and could have used a vehicle to get where they are now.
so I guess what im really trying to say is that you could totally be right and I shouldn't have jumped the gun with my assumption.
Everybody in this thread is just thinking out loud. Nobody has a clue where or what Wellington is (yet).
Any guess is as good as the other.
I would have liked to see Clem and Christa on a tandem bicycle though. Or on a couple of Harleys.
Yes, I also think it's Wellington, Ohio. It just makes the most sense, since I don't think Christa would be heading to Canada. Also, I think there is a Wellington in North Carolina? But I'm not sure, could be wrong.
No, I was wrong. It's just a part of Cary, North Carolina.
if you look for ski resorts in north carolina, the one that comes up all the time is blowing rock which is on the north border with virginia in the mountains (completely makes sense to be the one they are heading to in ep 2) kentucky is quite close so my guess would be kentucky
Even if there was a safe place like Wellington, TWD is just huge junk of misery, so that is not going to be a safe place. If you are stuck in middle of Z- Apocalypse best option is just keep on moving... free tip.
I feel like the place Carver is running and the community Tavia tries to get the 400 days folks to go to are one in the same. Since Bonnie always goes with Tavia no matter how you play her story and the fact that she is with Carver at the ski lodge.
But I think Wellington is a completely different place because Kenny seems to be heading there and Carver is chasing the group. If they were the same place then the groups would be heading towards each other not the other way. I think the Ohio Answer makes the most sense so far because Kenny said it's near Michigan. The only flaw I see with that answer is; he also said there were cold ass winters there which makes me think it need to be farther north than Ohio. I'm thinking Wisconsin or even up into Canada. I haven't looked for a Wellington in either location, but like someone else said, it might be a place not on a map, ie. Crawford.
I thought Wellington was in Michigan as referenced in this Thread
Kenny says its somewhere in Michigan, I think.
There's a Wellington in Michigan and Nova Scotia, Canada.
Why go digging up this old thread? o_O It's been confirmed that it's in Michigan.
Actually, Crawford is a real place in Savannah. Which makes the fact that the leader is named Crawford pretty weird.
Could the city in the background of Episode 5's slide be Cleveland?
When Luke reads a map in episode 2 of season 1, it says Virginia on it. That is where they are.
Wellington is in Michigan, relatively close to Lake Huron. Roughly 1,100 miles from Savannah, as the crow flies.
This is an old thread, posted just after Episode 1 was released. With Kenny confirming Michigan as the state, its pretty easy to find our Wellington.
WOW YOU'RE THE MOST HOTTEST GAMER CHICK I'VE EVER SEEN!
Kenny said that Wellington is a camp near Michigan. A camp. So it's improbable that it can be seen on a map. Probably it's a sort of big refugee camp
