  • a cliffhanger is a little different than cutting off in the middle of the action. these don't feel like cliffhangers, but more like a big middle finger saying "HA! now u gotta wait even longer to see what happens." each episode in the first season had a certain finality to it. using season 1 ep 1, this would be like cutting off after getting floored by larry. there's no kenny to the rescue, you just see the zombie crawl towards you and then it fades to black, and you get a "next time, on the walking dead..." screen.

I would contend that, while the first episode of Season 1 managed to end with firm resolution, the following episodes, even the finale, all

  • I thought it was a great Episode. They allowed a lot of time for interaction with the group, and it was nice seeing how your choices from Episode 1 affected the game. The entirety of it had me on edge, and it really pulled me in. The story was very good, and the stuff at the end was just terrible but kinda brilliant. Around about 9/10, it is definitely as good as S1E2 but I thought that something else was needed, and the time-skips at the beginning weren't right.
Looking forward, the preview has set up Episode 3 quite well while not revealing a lot of information. Can't wait to see how it pans out and what effects my decisions have

  • Wonderful episode. There's so many good things.

So, story was magnificent as always. We escaped from the cabin and we went into mountains. Too bad Pete died, he could have cut that leg off, but he refused to. Weird. Action? Every moment is filled with action. The cabin scene, the bridge, the ski lodge, especially the ski lodge was filled with action and hostage thing was epic. Also, two determinant characters - Alvin and Nick. In my playthrough Nick died and I wasn't really happy of that, but we'll she how it goes without him. You were left to hard decisions - who you wanna sit with or what to do, retreat or sneak. Everything in order to save the group.

Characters were great, also first gay characters in the game, but of course they were killed right away. The Bonnie thing...Oh God I hate her now. But I hope Clementine will be able to manipulate her in order to get her on our side. Models were amazing, zombies were gross and bad as always.

I'll give 9.5/10. I thought like something very small is missing, but I don't really know what. And also one of my absolutely favorite episodes. Keep it up, Telltale, keep it up!

  • Im giving it a 5/10

Seriously I think this was one of the worsed episodes ever if not the worsed... I felt the storly line was rushed/pushed. Left you no time to really interact with the new enviroment or do anything really useful. Whatever you do certain things die, then whats the point in trying???

it was great to see Ken again but scenes with him were so unsatiesfying and I am sure he is a goner in 1 - 2 episodes to go also his new GF... Luke is like a psychopath always wants a child to accompany him and Nick is the new Ben... Carlos and Rebecca go nice cause you do ONE nice deed and Alvin is well a prick... Then you finally meet a guy that is really, really different from all the other and he dies and you CANT save him at all!!!

Carver is a intresting new enemy but we all know how that will end. Bonnie well never liked her and this episode showed me why but where are the others from 400? In Carvers camp? Neh, i didnt like it...

  • This is absolutely their best episode to date for numerous reasons:

    • The tension was all in the conversations rather than the action. The zombie killing scenes are not Telltale's strong points and it seems that they are becoming more aware of that. I had more genuine tension with the Nick and Walt scenario than I did at any point in Episode One.
    • Their characterization is so much better. All the issues we had with characters like Rebecca and Nick have been addressed to the point they've become more fleshed out and fully realized people. And their dialogue has improved a lot too.
    • Pleasant surprises based on decisions from the first game!
    • A genuine threat has emerged and a motivation has been established for the story arc as a whole.
    • Super tough choices!!!

I honestly have so little to gripe about this episode. If there was any nitpick to make, it's that they're stretching the conceit of Clementine being the main character a little. Clem is very capable, but she's not THAT capable of doing stuff the adults should be doing in the first place. They need to be careful with how they handle that interaction.

Overall though, this is my favorite episode of the series and it is a SERIOUS upgrade from Episode 1. More tense, better character development and it makes me more eager to play the next episode. Don't mess it up Telltale!

    10/10
