Good King Wenceslas Symbolism
If you listen to Sarita and Sarah talk while decorating the Christmas tree you can here Sarita explain and sing some of the song Good King Wenceslas. This is what she sings
Sire, the night is darker now,
and the wind blows stronger.

I can go no longer.
Mark my footsteps my good page,
tread thou in them boldly:
Thou shalt find the winter's rage
freeze thy blood less coldly.
I was wondering seeing as how the rest of the season is taking place during winter and the 5th episode slide has snow that maybe Telltale is trying to foreshadow something.

Interesting. Wenceslas was the king of Bohemia about 1000 years ago, the story in the carol was probably made up. The real story of Wenceslas is some weird and gory shit.
"He defended Bohemia from a couple of invasions by Dukes of neighbouring regions and legend says that he banished his mother and her pagan followers from his castle. Wenceslas put in a good education system and a successful law and order system, so the parts of the carol story about him being a kind King are true! After four years of happiness, when Wenceslas was 22, his brother Boleslav, became very jealous of Wenceslas and plotted (possibly with the pagan followers of their mother) to kill Wenceslas. Boleslav invited Wenceslas to celebrate a saint's day with him, but on the way to the Church, Wenceslas was attacked and stabbed to death by three of Boleslav's followers!"

Sarah asks what the song means and Sarita says if you do good things then good things will happen to you. Which is disproven by that bullet in Walter's head.
Yeah, of course 'wink, wink' In all honesty though, i'm doubtful as to whether telltale would think that far, there are so many symbolism threads atm that Clem picking her nose might draw some unneeded attention.
Well it just seemed interesting because the song is speaking of them traveling in harsh winter conditions and seeing that skeleton in the episode 5 slide made me think the worst.
I know this is really old, but I remember having a forum discussion on this a few years ago. It always interested me, because I remember catching it during my play-through, and I don't remember much major symbolism in the game beyond this song.
Sarita explains that the king's page is kept warm by following in the king's literal footsteps, and that this means that a person can often be blessed by serving others, as the page was blessed (kept warm) by serving his king that night. Sarah points out, however, that the page would never have been cold in the first place if he weren't traveling with the king in the winter weather, and wouldn't have had a need to keep warm in the king's footsteps if he'd stayed home instead.
The symbolism here is of Carver and his community. He insists by force that what he's doing is for everyone's own good, that they are better off complying with his orders, and that anyone who refuses should be made to comply for the good of everyone. However, most of the horrible Walking Dead-esque events that happen to Clementine and her crew through episodes 2 and 3 can directly be blamed on Carver - In other words, if he weren't forcing his protection on everyone, there would be nothing to protect them from.
Obviously the world would still be crawling with walkers, but Clem, Kenny et. al. would obviously have been better off at the lodge.
