MacGameStore game codes are they SteamPlay?

Activation Keys bought from http://www.macgamestore.com/product/3034/The-Walking-Dead-Season-2/

Can the code they issue be activated in Steam or is it exclusively for MacGameStore gaming engine? I want the decisions I made in Season One and 400 Days to determine the game in Season 2 but I don't know if buying a non-steam version will link the games. Plus there will be no Steam achievements, I imagine.

Can anyone let me know if they bought the game currently on offer on MacGameStore for $14.99 and is the code a Steamplay one?
